Questions about Best Glide ASE Survival Fishing Kit Basic Version
Q:
Why did you buy this? i made one myself and cost only 4 bucks.
Answer: Did it really? Or did you have to buy a lot of many of the items in bulk and it just cost $4.00 pro rated? How much time did you spend buying each of the items and making it? I would buy a package like this because making my own would cost more in time than buying it since I place a minimum value on my time at $100.00 an hour. Responding to your inane comment cost me $4.00.
Answer: Because I saw the movie Jaws and I thought I should be ready if I find myself at sea.
Answer: Because I didn't know anything about fishing, and wanted a kit in my bug out bag that I knew was good
Answer: I have made numerous ones also for family and friends! I just wanted the extra stuff.

Product reviews of Best Glide ASE Survival Fishing Kit Basic Version
ben bruns : Three Stars
in the pack will find out later if it was worth the weight
Franksann : A good pack away item to have
The kit comes in a small and convenient easy to pack away size. It also came early
Ted H : It is what it is
As described
Flyrod : Keep one for a backup, hiking or camping.
You don't know you even have it in your pack, but if you need it, you got it, very happy with this product.
Ray : Nice little fishing kit
For the low cost, this is a very neat little fishing kit. Grab a pole and open the box and you have everything you need to catch a fish.
G. s. E. : Nice little kit.
This is a great little kit. I am reminded of the ones we made in the Boy Scouts out of Sucrets tins. Does anyone remember those? When I go into the woods I take little 'just in case' items like this with me. Great to have and it works.
James A. Moore : BOB storage
You need to buy two so you can test it out. It's one of those things that's nice to have in your bug out bag.
Aaron : Four Stars
I like it!
dc : had one before.... hope long string ...
had one before ....hope long string lasts longer........dc
Ashley Doerr : Good kit for people with no fishing stuff
Decent kit. Worth the money if you don't have any fishing stuff or have little to no experience fishing. If you already have fishing stuff or have a friend who will give you some, you can build a better kit than this for WAY cheaper.
Austin : Fishing Kit
Very cool little kit. Comes with plenty of gear for emergency fishing and it is very light weight and seems high quality.
Ben Moore : If you don't have any fishing gear...
If you're looking, like I was, for a simple kit to throw in a bag for emergency use that has the basics required to make an attempt at catching fish, this kit covers your bases. It is however pretty skimpy and if you know any avid fishermen that have extra tackle, you could build a much better kit using their stuff. I think I am the most disappointed with the 12lb line. Not that I expect to go deep sea fishing or anything, but that seems pretty weak if I find myself in an emergency I may have to try to shoo away any decent size fish for fear that they will break the line.
Bottom line, if you don't have ANY tackle and don't know anyone with tackle and you want to have the basics of a simple fishing setup for emergency use, this is decent. If you have friends, family, or co-workers that fish a lot, offer to pay them $10 - $15 bucks to put together something similar for you and put it in a small tin and call it good. You will almost certainly end up with better quality materials and a wider variety of tools to use. And if you are in an emergency, trying to feed yourself by catching fish you want to have the best gear possible!
Amazon Customer : It's a great little kit
It's a great little kit. Buy two of them; one to for your survival kit, one two practice with. You need to know what your doing.
Ryan Hobson : Pleasantly surprised
For the price it's quite the fantastic little survival fishing kit. Your not going to catch a salt water tarpon or even a 15lb catfish but in a survival situation this will work fantastic!
Amazon Customer : A good starter kit for the bare minimals
Some good basics in the tin but recommend getting a slightly larger tin and popping some extras in there like different sized hooks, speed hook, lures, floats and stronger line. I also added some adapted steel swivel leaders as snares/traps for a more comprehensive hunting tin.
Serenity Now : Cute fishing kit
If you have a lot of fishing gear and an Altoids tin, then you can make this yourself in about ten minutes. BUT, if you don't have those things, then this little fishing kit is worth the money for your emergency preps. If you plan to do any serious fishing, however, you will need much more than this.
K Quetin : Light weight
This is a perfect addition to a backpack. It was a gift for my son and I can only say that he thinks it is great.
Ashley Doerr : Good kit for people with no fishing stuff
Decent kit. Worth the money if you don't have any fishing stuff or have little to no experience fishing. If you already have fishing stuff or have a friend who will give you some, you can build a better kit than this for WAY cheaper.
Michae Lei : Let's do fishing
Definitely nice if I need to go fishing without a rud . They even including salmon eggs
Boudreaux's Mom : No complaints
Received it the same week I ordered it using standard delivery. It's a handy piece to have with everything tucked inside a metal container about the size of a thick sardine can.
collindiehl : Bought these as a gift for my son who lives ...
Bought these as a gift for my son who lives, hikes and hunts in Alaska. He has not used yet but was thrilled with small size which fits perfectly in his backpack. They arrived on time as promised.
Chris Fetherolf : Nice little kit.
Really awesome kit to add to my camping bag, very happy I ordered it.
James Cooley : Four Stars
It's a good little pocket kit. Just the thing for a hike in the woods.
AHull : Great product.
Has a little of everything that I may need. Great product.

SMB : Best survival fishing kit
Best survival fishing kit I've found for the combo of content and cost. Well thought out and even costs a bit cheaper than putting a kit together yourself. I keep this in my survival gear and carry it with me when hiking or on outdoor adventures.
Jay : Five Stars
Great addition to any survival pack or B.O.B
Red : Great Bug out bag addition
Great little addition to my BOB everything I’d need.
TNT : JUNK Pure JUNK!!!!!!!!!!
Not worth 50 cents!!!!!!
JL : awesome kit!
Bought this kit to throw in my pocket or backpack for those "just in case" scenarios. Haven't had a chance to test it yet, but i would say that's a good thing!
William Bly : You never know
Stuck this in my bug out bag. Just in case. You never know. Nice kit seems to have all you could need.
bWILs72 : Three Stars
mmpf....should've built one myself outta an altoids box
Doc D : Finally a small item to add to the emergency kit
Purchased to add to my emergency supplies. Perfect size and has enough items to actually have a good chance of catching fish. Nice to have small items for your emergency preparedness...seems like everything you want or need for an emergency kit tends to add up pretty quick and take up too much space. This is this size of a breath mint container. Buy some for stocking stuffers for your prepper or traveling fisherman to keep in the glove box of the car.

hope i don't ever have to use it.
C : Not Horrible, But Many Better Other Options
There are better options.

This fishing kit had a bag of hooks all stuffed together. If you put this together in a bag of some sort, very good for survival kit, and a lot of other weight, bobber, and lure options. I literally got way more options than this kit offered, in about the same space, for less price. Also some of the hooks are already tied with fishing line, ready to be clasped. This minor stuff can really save time in an emergency situation, and in an emergency time can be everything.
Still, the items I used out of this kit were the round jig heads, bobbers, fly, salmon bait, and am planning on keeping the tin for something else. What I took from it not really worth the price, but the jig heads were painted with eyes and were not bad.
Can I recommend this to someone else? No. Am I unhappy with my purchase and looking for a refund? No.
If you want an already assembled BARE MINIMUM emergency survival kit that takes up the space of a tin, and requires no effort on your part, buy this.
If you want an emergency survival kit that is slightly larger but will be a little more forgiving, have enough supplies to last more than a few days, and not rattle, buy a bar minimum tackle kit, and some fishing line, and a storage bag of your choosing.
Jon : Five Stars
An absolute necessity for any survival collection. It includes everything you would need to improvise a fishing trip.
Boudreaux's Mom : No complaints
Received it the same week I ordered it using standard delivery. It's a handy piece to have with everything tucked inside a metal container about the size of a thick sardine can.
Waltimus : Best little kit out there
I've purchased the other kits and this is easily the fanciest. It's a nice little kit with a wide assortment of lures and hooks, from flies to salmon bait and more. I haven't caught anything yet but i suspect I'm just a bad fisherman.
Susan Wise : Small Size But Loaded With Items!
What a great idea! I have put this in my bug-out-bag for emergencies. About the size of a mint tin, it is packed with a lot of emergency items such as fishing line, hooks and sinkers. Really like the idea that it fits nicely into something so small!
Jeffrey I. Stone : Five Stars
If I catch a fish it would be great. Thank you....
G&B : Just cool
This little emergency survival fishing kit is great. It has all of the essentials needed to fish if put into a situation that it might be needed.

Such a handy survival fishing kit in such a small and compact container. A must have for camping or bugging out
G&B : Just cool
This little emergency survival fishing kit is great. It has all of the essentials needed to fish if put into a situation that it might be needed.
Antonio V. : Convenient
I know I know. Just get the parts from your tackle and get a small can and there you go. Why pay the money for this? It was easy. I didn't have to do anything other then order it and I have it in my bag now.
Annette : Basic Survival Fishing Kit
I have to give it 5 stars because it arrived faster than expected and it arrived as described. It is small and cute, will fit in your pocket. I added a few things and placed it in my bug out bag.
Flyrod : Keep one for a backup, hiking or camping.
You don't know you even have it in your pack, but if you need it, you got it, very happy with this product.
VINCENT : Nice
Nice product if your lazy and don't wanna put your own together
James : Great product
Great product
Terry Hebert : It fits easily into a small pocket of my backpack
Exactly what I had been looking for. Compact, but complete. It fits easily into a small pocket of my backpack.
Boudreaux's Mom : No complaints
Received it the same week I ordered it using standard delivery. It's a handy piece to have with everything tucked inside a metal container about the size of a thick sardine can.
