Why did you buy this? i made one myself and cost only 4 bucks.

Answer: Did it really? Or did you have to buy a lot of many of the items in bulk and it just cost $4.00 pro rated? How much time did you spend buying each of the items and making it? I would buy a package like this because making my own would cost more in time than buying it since I place a minimum value on my time at $100.00 an hour. Responding to your inane comment cost me $4.00.

Answer: About the size of a box of Altoids.

Answer: This was a gift and I don't have it anymore. But as I recall it was about 3"x4"X1". About the size of a sardine can.

This kit has the basics of what you would need to catch a few fish. It is not designed to be a long term food solution, which is fine. If you have no idea how to fish, you should probably go fishing to learn the basics. You should know how to tie a fisherman's knot and how to select the appropriate bait.
The other big plus with this kit is the tin is large enough to put a few more items in. I added a small weatherman multi function knife, chapstick, and a small emergency whistle. It is perfect for keeping things compact.

Just the right amount of gear for an emergency kit. It has everything you need to get the job done and you can always throw in a few extras to set it up to fit your needs. For the few dollars it costs it's worth picking one up and throwing it in a backpack or in your car. You never know when you might need it.

I agree with others. If you had a bunch of fishing supplies in you tackle box, it wouldn't be hard to put together this kit at a much lower price. I bought it for the convenience and it seems to have the bare essentials for survival fishing. It arrived promptly and in good condition. Decent kit. Worth the money if you don't have any fishing stuff or have little to no experience fishing. If you already have fishing stuff or have a friend who will give you some, you can build a better kit than this for WAY cheaper.
