Can this reel be used for saltwater ?

Answer: Yes, plus look up EliasV on YouTube. He uses that reel for fresh and saltwater. Very smooth reel and economical. I have been using more expensive shimano reels over the years(also awesome reels) and after watching videos and comments from friends I now own 3 of these.

Answer: I use it in salt water, but as this a budget reel most often used in freshwater so please be aware that extra care needed for saltwater use. Tighten the drag all the way then rinse thoroughly with fresh water after every use. Remember once dry to losen up the drag again.

Answer: Don’t see why not. Should be good.

Geno Ocean : Proof that more cost doesn't always equal better quality

Diawa got it right with this reel. Cracks me up when my buddy pulls out a $200.00 reel and $240.00 rod combo but likes my set up better. When I tell him I purchased it on Amazon and tell him that for the entire rig I paid $68.00 he slapped himself. I'm like hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
