Does this reel click going in and out?

Answer: It clicks going out.

Answer: Yes it is plastic. Works great on my 6 foot 2 weight.

Answer: You can change the direction to either left or right hand retrieve. They come left hand from the factory.

Answer: They all come with left hand retrieve. If you want right hand then you have to switch it yourself. Instructions for switching it can be found on YouTube.

Looks, feels, and has the features of a high end fly reel. And all at a reasonable price. Wanted a fly reel that had spare spools available at a decent price. This fit the bill. Matches my Echo rod perfectly. I'd call it 4th Base instead because it's definitely a hit out of the park. Keep up the great work Echo. You rock!

This reel is a basic reel. The drag loosens up if I pull the line out to aggressively, but thats been the case with all reels I've used in this price range.

I haven't used it yet. But I have an Echo Carbon XL rod paired with the Echo Ion reel. That would be the next step up from this Echo Base package. I bought the Base package in the smaller size for bluegill and small bass from my kayak. As I set up the reel, I got to the sense that it felt very similar to the upgraded items. Not much more costly than the cheap stuff that I was tempted to buy online, but the reputation and the warranty of Echo can't be beat. We'll worth the extra $30 or so. I'm super excited for the pond to thaw!
