Which reel for a 6 weight rod?

Answer: I use the 5+ spooled 6wt with a 5 and 6wt rod.

Can the Ross Guru be configured for either left hand or right hand retrieve?

Answer: Yes, it comes from the factory left hand retrieve, but can easily be switched in minutes. Just a matter of flipping an internal bearing.

Used for Salmon fishing in Alaska. New to fly fishing, so my review will not be technical. However, I really loved the feel of the reel.

Pdynam : Stellar! Lamson For The Serious Fly Fisherman

Another stellar reel from Lamson. Purchased the 3.5 and loaded it with Cortland Tropic Plus Redfish line - balances extremely well with my 8wt rod. Been submerged many times thus far is salt water whith no ill affects. This is a super lightweight reel with one of the best drag systems on the market today.

This is my 4th Lamson reel ... will be purchasing more in the near future.

First off, the guy that gave these a single star review is an absolute queen for doing so on the basis of his color expectations. In Lamson’s defense, the olive green image is actually pretty close to the real thing (which I have). It really just depends on the light, no surprise that his looks darker in the poor lighting conditions he shot that photo in. That guy can take can take a hike lol.

I’ve been using Landon Gurus for a while now. I started out on the second gen reels which were and still are fantastic reels. This 3rd gen takes everything up a notch and let me tell you, I’m absolutely blown away with them.

I have a 3, 5 and 7 and they are all super low weight, well put together and absolutely gorgeous. These deserve a solid 5 stars and I’ll be using them for the foreseeable future.
