Customize your own smoker! The Smoke Daddy Magnum P.I.G. Cold Smoke Generator is the best choice for the serious meat smoking enthusiast, vertical smokers, or larger grills! This cold smoke generator allows you to create a custom cold smoker and offers 3-4 hours of smoke time on a single fill. It comes with a high output adjustable air pump to provide an adequate air supply for the larger wood chips/chunks.

Will it work with certain type of smoker? This will work on any existing grill, smoker, or any application where the cold smoker can be mounted to a vertical wall.
Can the product use sawdust or wood pellets? The cold smoker cannot use sawdust and we do not recommend pellets due to the poor quality smoke it produces. We highly recommend using wood chips and larger wood chunks for best results.
It is easy to install? Yes, this is very easy to install. It only requires drilling a 1-1/8” hole into the side of your application, as low as possible, and attaches using the provided washers and lock nuts. (Replace precision aluminum picture with 10 years picture)

Answer: Hi, this is actually to upgrade an existing pellet hopper assembly or pellet grill. What you would need is the Pellet Pro Pellet Hopper Assembly. This would be the unit you would attach to the side of your smoke box to convert it into a pellet smoker. Please search our other listings to find either the 12" or 18" hopper assembly.

Answer: Hi, yes we've had quite a few customers install the upgrade kit onto their Pit Boss Austin XL. It is quite easy to install as long as you remove the hopper housing. It will include instructions on what needs to be done, although once the hopper housing is off, you will know exactly what to do.

Answer: I don't think we have had anyone put this on a Char Griller. I do not see why it wouldn't work. If you purchase it and have issues you can always call us and return it for a full refund.

Answer: Yea it does, I’ve bought 2 complete sets. I smoked the first one. Was my own fault. I recommend keeping your smoke daddy covered when not in use if you don’t already..:) ???? it’s a good upgrade, we’ll worth it. Stays within a few degrees.
Answer: No, the hot rod is not part of the kit. The kit includes the control panel, auger motor, fan and upgraded burn pot.

You do not have to replace the fan or other parts but would be a good idea because of the p aces the controller puts the motors through! My temps had big swings, excessive, but now are constant within +/- 5 deg. I bought the whole kit! Worth it!
Answer: You should replace the fan motor and auger motor. I had to replace the auger also. Still couldn't get it to hold temp, so I returned it.
Answer: I bought mine for the Traeger Grill and it works great, you just need to replace the controller easy!

So this is good for the pit boss 820 pro series? Based on the other pit boss questions it’s just the smaller grills that have an issue.
Answer: Hi, yes the Upgrade Kit will work perfectly with the Pit Boss 820 Pro Series Grill. Everything is directly compatible with this grill and it should maintain temperature much better than it does now. Since it is a larger grill, the Upgrade Kit won't be "overkill" for that size grill.

Answer: I installed it in my pro 34 and had nothing but problems. It runs fine but leaves black soot all over the food. Talked to support and they asked me to send it in so they could adjust it. Same results. Went back to a traeger controller and everything is fine. I’d stay away.
Answer: Yes it’s is a direct replacement on a pro 34. I did mine about 4 months ago and could not be happier.

An added side effect of this kit is the incredible temperature management and I seem to use less pellets on long cooks, so that’s a plus! I was shocked at how much better my food is turning out!

Wizardket : Great temperature control
I install this on my older Traeger Texas grill and it is a fantastic controller. It holds the temperature perfectly and when I want to go to high to finish cooking my steaks after smoking them it will actually reach temperatures over 490°. I like that this will set the temperature and reach them very quickly. When I cook at 225° for smoke and then want to change to 450° it changes temperatures very fast. Before I install this the grill would barely reach above 400° at best.

The Smoke Daddy Pellet Pro controller & upgrade kit is awesome. It turned a low-end pellet grill into an amazing smoker. I have had it about a year and a half, and it beautifully performs every time. The temperature control is precise, and it was relatively easy to install. I also ordered the Big Kahuna cold smoker and it too was an easy install and really makes adding smoke super quick and easy. Much better than the Pitt Boss controller that had wild 100-200 degree temp swings forcing me to keep a close eye on something that is supposed to be set and forget. The Pit Boss fan on my Austin XL eventually got stuck in the high setting forcing me to purchase this kit. Temp Swings are now more like 5-20 degrees. Can't review about reliability/longevity yet, only used a few cooks so far.
