Answer: The unit can use any bags designed for vacuum sealing. I use the Ziploc brand and have good results with them, and with the bags supplied with the unit. A tip is to maintain even, but not excessive pressure with your hand while the unit is evacuating the bag and during the seal.

I have bagged over 20 bags of vegetables after blanching them and then using a salad spinner to eliminate excess water. This sealer was fantastic. I found it easier to use than a much more expensive foodsaver vacuum I used to own. I didn't have any issues with consecutive seals.
The first two bags i didn't space the bag correctly and the bag didn't seal all the way, but after I got the hang of it, the next 20 bags had no issues.
The sealer is sensitive to too much liquid but i thought it handled it better than my foodsaver. I highly recommend this product especially considering the price!

I have had and used many Food Savers over the years. I use them to death literally. When my last one died I shopped around and found nothing but over priced and complex systems.
All I want to do is suck and seal. I bought this sealer due to the great price and outstanding reviews. I was not disappointed. It is quick and easy. Yes you have to cut your own bags and it does not do jars, as far as I can tell. But it is quick and easy and really intuitive. For the price it beats the expensive ones and its fast.

I read all of the reviews and it sounded like a good buy. I began sealing food according to the directions and putting it in the freezer. After a week or so everything I had sealed and froze had air and ice in each bag. I used the bags included with the sealer. I am very disappointed with the product.

This is my first vacuum sealer. I like it, but you have to wait a minute or two between vacuum seals. It doesn't seem to remove the air if you try to vacuum things back to back. This is a good product for the price.

This sealer does a good job. I had a more expensive one that lasted for years, but toward the end of it's life, if you used it several times in a row, you would have to wait a bit for it to cool off. This one just keeps on working! It is great!

If all you intend to package is dry items (nuts, etc) it works fine. HOWEVER, if what you are sealing has any moisture at all, it is extremely difficult to get an air-tight seal. When I called the customer service to ask about the problem, all I was told was to watch the package and seal before the moisture reached the sealing strip. Not very useful since I mostly wanted to use the sealer for leftovers and advanced meal prep. On the plus side, it is an affordable unit and you do not have to buy bags just from this company. Most textured bags will work.
