Answer: Mine were sagging (I have stainless trays, not the plastic). I was pretty upset because of the money that I spent on it. I was hoping it was just a fluke. I contacted the company, but have not heard from them yet. It has been over a month.

Product reviews of Tribest SDE-S6780-B Sedona Express, Digital Food Dehydrator with Stainless Steel Trays
Phil : Professional quality dehydrator for enthusiasts
We were thrilled to be able to review the Tribest Sedona Express food dehydrator. Our past experience with food dehydration has only involved Roma tomatoes, kale, and pumpkin seeds, dried in the oven. We generally liked the results, but our oven temperature was a little high for the tomatoes. We needed to watch them carefully so they wouldn’t get too crispy. We have only done a few tomato slices in the Tribest, and they came out fine. Our other dried foods have been apple chips, and banana chips. The Tribest is expensive, but the results are consistently good so far.
The unit came packed very well. The unit was double-boxed, and had sufficient padding and foam protection. We received 11 stainless steel shelves, a stainless steel drip tray, and additional air filter. The material quality is excellent. The shelves are sturdy, no sags, and no sharp edges. They have a corrugated wire surface that can stick to wet foods. The exterior is a high impact plastic. The power cord plugs into the back, and a plastic cover protects the air filter, held in place by a single screw. The front door is heat resistant glass, that has a push-lock spring mechanism. When opened a LED light illuminates the interior. The control panel may look complicated, but is straightforward, once you read the manual. Another reviewer complained about the manual, but my copy was easy to read, and explained the control modes clearly. The diagrams and photos also helped. This unit had a professional quality to it. The flashing lights and temperature controls all reminded me of a lab-quality piece of instrumentation. There is nothing cheap about the Tribest Sedona Express. The 10 year warranty attests to the manufacturer’s confidence in the product quality.
The Tribest uses two heating modes to dehydrate foods: Fast, and Raw. Either mode can be used independently of the other. Fast mode is used to drive out initial moisture from the food. The unit cycles above and below the temp set point in this mode. When the moisture has been removed (Fast mode time has expired), the unit will switch to Raw mode, where the temperature will approach, but not exceed, your temp set point. As you set the initial controls, the mode light, temperature indicator and time (in hours) will flash. Press the Set button to move on to the next setting. The Start/Pause button will start or pause the unit. You can hear the fan as the unit turns on. It is relatively quiet. When you open the door to check the progress, the fan turns off, until you close the door again.
I mentioned that we made apple chips from about 10 large gala apples. After peeling, coring, and slicing the apples, we put the unit into Raw mode at 115 degrees for 10 hours. We took some of the chips to the grandkids (5 and 7). They ate them like they were candy. A whole zip lock bag full was gone in a matter of minutes. There were the equivalent of about 5 apples in that bag!
We are looking forward to doing the Halloween pumpkin seeds, sweet potato chips, and kale chips. The internet abounds with recipes for dehydrators. There are no hard and fast rules for dehydrating some foods, because the quantity and thickness of foods varies. The recipe book that comes with the Tribest is only six pages but contains helpful information for dehydrating a variety of different foods, meats, vegetables, nuts, and fruit. I think the dehydrator would also be excellent for making yogurt and creme fraiche.
John G. Wachter : BS Warranty - Don’t Buy!
3 years of using this machine and then the fan motor quit. Called, emailed trying to get an RMA since they have a 10 year warranty - TOTAL BS. No replies and no RMA. DO NOT BUY.
TommyTooTechnical : Commercial grade food dehydrator designed for the home kitchen.
Quick specs: Heater rating: 167F highest temperature setting (averaged temp), 470W, 120V 60Hz Multiple modes (Fast, Raw, and Combination, and Continuous) Dimensions: 12.25"Wx14.5"Hx20"D Tray dimensions: 10"x12-7/8" Headroom (distance between trays): 1" Total capacity (surface area): 1416.25 cubic inches (9.83 sqft) Maximum programmable time: 99 hours per mode, 120 hours max for continuous
IMPRESSIONS: I love this unit. First of all, it's probably the nicest looking dehydrator I've seen and looks great as a permanent kitchen appliance. But more importantly it performs great.
On my test, I dehydrated 4.6lbs of beef round, cut into quarter-inch pieces, and still had two empty trays left over. I think it would have easily handled 6lbs of meat. The interface was intuitive and easy to use. I had no issues programming it. The machine dried my jerky very quickly, in just under 4 hours. The trays were surprisingly well constructed with clean welds and smoothly grinded edges, so the lack of sharp edges spared my sponges and steel wool pads when I cleaned them. The bottom tray is a drip tray however I can swap it out with the extra drying tray provided.
My jerky turned out perfect and was just awesome. If I knew how easy it was to make beef jerky, I would have done this a long long time ago and not spend so much money on it! If you eat lots of jerky, this thing will pay for itself in no time.
Anyway, I hope this review has been helpful!
Charles M. : Pricey But Good Product
I am concerned with dehydrators that don't reach 160 degrees for drying beef jerky. This one will reach 167 and has a nice 2 temp function. Small and compact. I can dehydrate 4 lbs at a time so it is not made for production. Quality made with a glass door. I think it is overpriced compared to what's on the market, but it's like buying a Mercedes vs a Ford. In the end I think it'll be worth the extra $
Weltonlj : Great buy!
I was a bit torn because this is quite expensive compared to other dehydrators, but this is amazing! It takes up less space than my old excalibur yet I can do more per load. It’s also tall enough to put mason jars into for making sour cream and yogurt. I absolutely love it.

L.R. : I do enjoy working with it so I might be at it ...
This little dehydrator works very well. It has been used everyday since I've gotten it. Next season I'll have it from the beginning of the grow season so the food will get process as it is ready. I sometimes wish I had bought the larger dehydrator because I've a very large garden but know I'll be cutting back each year and and not having as many to feed. I do enjoy working with it so I might be at it longer then I'd expected.
MJ : Very Nice Digital Dehydrator, If You Don't Mind an Terrible Manual on How to Use It
I've only used this dehydrator a few times but so far, fairly pleased with it. I have used one of the cheaper dehydrators with the stacking trays and always hated the noise, the difficulty in cleaning the trays (fruit leather is one of my favorite things to make and it always seems to spill on the trays, which do not fit in the sink or dishwasher), and lack of time controls so that I can let it run during the night and not over-dry my items. This dehydrator deals with all those issues, it came completely assembled, with all the metal trays/shelves already in place, along with a replacement shelf and filter. I didn't see any of the bowing issues other reviews have mentioned but will see if that occurs with use. I've tried doing some banana chips as well as some peaches I had canned in light syrup and loved the results, the banana chips turned out pretty much the way the ones in my other dehydrator did, and the peaches were nice and chewy, a great sweet treat alternative to something like candy. I wish I could do fruit leather in this model without having to buy a bunch of additional trays since it only comes with one and the usable space for each tray is much smaller than typical stacking models so you really need a bunch of them to do leather. So not sure this is the best choice if that is a common dry task you are looking to use it for. Also, the manual that comes with this model is absolutely TERRIBLE, it clearly was just translated (badly) from another language to English is is pretty incomprehensible. The controls are not particularly intuitive so trying to figure out how to use them is a bit frustrating and takes some trial and error. The times given in the recipe book for drying fruit seemed to be really off, I needed almost double the time for my banana chips... but given the poor instructions it's possible I was using a different drying setting. For such an expensive appliance, they could at least provide users with a decent manual on how to use it.
Rama Rao : Performs pretty well
I have been using this for the past four weeks and love it. I have dehydrated apple slices, oranges, tomato slices, onion rings, thinly sliced chicken, and raw cashew nuts. It works pretty well, but takes long when the slices are thick. The dehydrator works for both meat and vegetables.
This has Two-stage sequential temperature-timer (TST), which works in two modes to kick start the dehydration process so that you will spend less time to create your favorite nutrition-packed raw recipes. Just set the unit to the TST and watch it run in "Fast" mode of up to 167 F (in my machine it went up to 184 F) for the first few hours, then automatically switch down to "Raw" mode of 118 F for the remaining dehydration time. With this feature, you could prepare healthier food for the family. There is faint fan noise while the hydrator is operating, but the noise level is low and acceptable.
This model operates at 110 voltage/60 Hertz and at 470 Watts. The trays fit in perfectly and there is no sagging. The design is good and the quality is great; the unit should last a long time. It comes with a ten year guarantee, a remarkable faith of the manufacturer in their product. The trays are stainless steel and the drip pan at the bottom is also stainless steel. There are eleven trays, and the shelves are a little narrower but deeper. There is plenty of space to even out food for dehydration. The interior and exterior are made from a non-flammable and BPA-free plastic body. On the back of the unit there are two black projection handles which makes it easy to lift and move to another location. The machine has all-digital controls & displays; the glass hinged door is good for easy monitoring and insertion and removal of trays.
The package was delivered on time and the product was intact. I am satisfied with this product.
Theseus : Excellent Unit
This appears to be a very well-designed, high quality unit which gives very uniform results! (By way of comparison, my only other experience with hydrators involved this admittedly janky and low-end unit...) You probably will be happiest if you have a dehydrating how-to and recipe book because the documentation that comes with this one is not terribly impressive.
I like the fact that you can pick two modes to dehydrate foods. There is Fast and Raw. With fast, the unit quickly removes initial moisture by cycling about the set point. Then it automatically sets itself to the second and more thorough mode. The alternate mode, obviously, bypasses the intial step. There is some fan noise while the hydrator is operating, but it isn't like you are listening to the microwave.
R C MAKIBBIN : Pre-season purchase and Amazon warehouse deal.
I’m very satisfied with the quality of the stainless steel racks. Looks like quality construction. Have used it to dry canning jars to test fan, heating element and timer. The jars were thoroughly dried and unit is very quiet. The unit was purchased through Amazon warehouse deal as a re-boxed unit.

Renee Sheryl Miner : My Tribest Sedona Express has been pretty much running non-stop since I received it by USPS
My Tribest Sedona Express has been pretty much running non-stop since I received it by USPS. Its running right now with jalapeños and zucchini. The only other dehydrator I had in my possession to compare it to was a cheap one with round trays which had no fan. I particularly like the stainless steel trays and the RAW function of the Tribest Sedona Express - those are the two main reasons I purchased this instead of the other big competitor with similar price range. I have no complaints. I've seen on other comments, some people who purchased an Excalibur don't like the fact that the Sedona trays are not square and thus cannot be turned 45 degrees. I have found that it is not necessary to turn them 45 degrees. Because the front of the tray dries almost as quickly as the back. It is the middle section that dries the slowest and the top and bottom trays - which has nothing to do with turning them by 45 degrees. Sometimes I need to rotate the trays, above or below each other however, for more even drying time. And sometimes I switch the food in the middle of the tray with the food at the back of the tray. This is not a big hassle, so who cares, really? I think all dehydrator trays can use a little turning here and there. I also LIKE the fact that when I open the Tribest door, the dehydrator stops and then starts again when I close the door. That way, I can keep a more accurate check on how long certain foods sliced at certain thickness will actually take. It is far better than the little plastic one I have now stored away for those occasions when I might need more than one dehydrator running at the same time. 5 STARS from me!
M. : Love it! Very quiet
Love it! Very quiet, l have it in my kitchen and it is pretty quiet. 2 set up "fast and raw". l like the metal selves. Easy to clean. If you consider to buy it, l suggest you buy also a silicon sheet. I use it every single day! I also make crackers, cereal bars and fruit loop. I especially like the raw function because you dehydrate and keep all the vitamins and nutriments intact.
stephane : Sold a broken item
Very disappointed by this purchase. It arrived broken. It was obviously sold and shipped as a used and broken item.
Doug : And I am happy with how well the unit dehydrates fruits and meat
I read through all the reviews on this and the competition before buying. And I am happy with how well the unit dehydrates fruits and meat. Most of the other reviewers have covered all the relevant points so I'll skip my experience. The magnetic door latch immediately started failing to catch. From every other time to have to push on it to a dozen times to get it to catch. Quality control should have caught this one. My email to Tribest Sedona was returned promptly with "give us the serial number Etc. and we will get right on it". A following email indicated within 7-10 days a new magnetic latch would be mailed out that I can easily replace. UPDATE: Several days later I received the part, swapped out the latch and I am good to go. So much better than messing with returns when you have an otherwise sound product.
Phil : Great quality & perfect size for counter top
Held 5 lbs of raw beef and turned it into excellent beef jerky on "fast" setting within 5 hours. Super easy to clean drip pan and metal racks. Was a bit hesitant about the price but the warranty and performance have been worth it for me.
Gary H : Just get it
Used it 4 times since I got it. This is my 3rd dehydrator and I love it. Works so well!!
L : tried and tested
I have two of these now. They're the absolute best quality and are consistent.
I have the SAHARA folding one too, but that one doesn't hit the temperatures very well, or nearly as consistently. It is a beautiful and sleek design, but it fails at what counts the most--- dehydrating.
The Sedona is by far the best dehydrator on the market. It does seem small-- but the damn thing packs more surface area and the trays are easy to clean and compact enough.
Just make sure to screw in the glass panel so it doesn't seem loose (some complaints in the reviews seem like people are really dumb and can't figure out the mechanism).

NicbachDVM : High quality dehydrator comes with inflated cost
I've always wanted a food dehydrator, but could never really justify the cost. I was eager to try this one, mainly due to the higher quality parts (stainless steel) and almost no plastic.
It comes in a large box, and is about the size of two countertop microwaves. It's pretty quiet to operate and doesn't take up enormous amounts of counter space. That being said, this isn't something I leave out all the time because of its size.
Thus far I've dried a lot of fruit, and it's just as good as the stuff you buy in stores for a lot more money. We are very organic and our daughter loves dried fruit, so this has been a blessing. It takes a while to dry the fruit but you can do so much at once that it hasn't been a problem for us.
The filter behind the machine is washable in case it gets gunked up. We had to figure out how to work the machine on our own, because as others have said, the manual is just terrible. Few details, but lots of specs on the unit in case you want to know how many watts it puts out.
Overall, my family loves this dehydrator. I feel that it's overpriced, but then again, I haven't owned other dehydrators. We love the results and this is quickly becoming an indispensable appliance for our family.
Clark Isaacs : Tribest makes the finest dehydrators out there
Tribest makes the finest dehydrators out there. We have had another model and then when we got this one were able to compare the performance of the two. They both work extremely well.
This model SDE-S6780 has a few features which make it stand out from the rest. The shelves are stainless steel, the drip pan in the bottom is also stainless steel. The door opens with a self closing latch which makes it easy to access when you push it in and also has a shut off button which activates when opening the door. The shelves are narrower and there are 11 in number. They however are deeper than the other one we have.
On the back of the unit there are two black projection handles to make it easy to lift when moving it, two people would be the optimum for putting it in another place. There is a digital read out and there are two temperatures which you can adjust to work between. The finish is great and this would be a welcome addition for a prep-per to use in the dehydration processing of fruits, nuts, or vegetables. There are some recipes and timings of how long for different items.
The manufacturer read my review and responded about the two black projections in the back! "The two black projections on the back of the dehydrator are there to make sure that the back of the dehydrator is placed at the optimal minimum distance away from any walls. To move the Sedona Express around, we recommend using the indentations on the sides of the dehydrator as carry handles for easy transportation." There was nothing in the instructions which said this and if you read my review I try to keep things up to date with regard to the best information available. We like this very much and there are more recipes for dehydration on line! People have written books and check out the topic at Amazon since they are in the top 1/3 of all book sellers now!
The filter for the fan is a special design and the unit comes with an extra filter. You can wash the filter to extend its life. Also, there is a 10 year warranty on the item.
Patrick O : On the dry side
Top notch dehydrator. Easy to use, almost too easy as I kept thinking I was missing something. Three modes of operation, a quick(er) hotter mode (~165 degrees), a slower lower temp (~113 degrees), and a combination that cycles between the two, getting a faster start on the dehyrdation before shifting to a longer, slower mode.
Or you can set your own temp and duration. Can be set for up to 99 hours on the timer, or a permanent mode. It comes with 11 stainless steel mesh trays that are dishwasher safe and a drip pan. There is only room for 11 trays in the machine, so if you use the drip pan you take out a tray.
Design is attractive, and it's not too big, fits under our cabinets in our kitchen. Very quiet, just a bare hum of the fan. Opening the glass door pauses the machine, close it and it goes right back to work, so you can check on items or put in or take out trays as the process continues.
This isn't quite an industrial model, but it's definitely a lot of dehydrator for most people. But, if you're dehydrating a lot of different items or have a big family, this really is great. Can keep it going and have a constant supply for whatever you want.
