Are the sagging trays the norm for this unit?
Answer: Trays do NOT sag if used correctly.... As a structural engineer, I say, "Turn your trays over, you are using them incorrectly"..... The over-lapping steel goes on TOP.... that is the support structure for these trays ..... Look at the edges, easily seen what I'm speaking of.....User error
Answer: Mine were sagging (I have stainless trays, not the plastic). I was pretty upset because of the money that I spent on it. I was hoping it was just a fluke. I contacted the company, but have not heard from them yet. It has been over a month.
Answer: I would not think the trays should sag. I would contact the manufacturer Tribest and see what they say.

Product reviews of Tribest SDE-S6780-B Sedona Express, Digital Food Dehydrator with Stainless Steel Trays
Pablo : Mine didnt work
Turned on put on highest setting .....10 hours later meat was still raw like it never even worked at all
NicbachDVM : High quality dehydrator comes with inflated cost
I've always wanted a food dehydrator, but could never really justify the cost. I was eager to try this one, mainly due to the higher quality parts (stainless steel) and almost no plastic.
It comes in a large box, and is about the size of two countertop microwaves. It's pretty quiet to operate and doesn't take up enormous amounts of counter space. That being said, this isn't something I leave out all the time because of its size.
Thus far I've dried a lot of fruit, and it's just as good as the stuff you buy in stores for a lot more money. We are very organic and our daughter loves dried fruit, so this has been a blessing. It takes a while to dry the fruit but you can do so much at once that it hasn't been a problem for us.
The filter behind the machine is washable in case it gets gunked up. We had to figure out how to work the machine on our own, because as others have said, the manual is just terrible. Few details, but lots of specs on the unit in case you want to know how many watts it puts out.
Overall, my family loves this dehydrator. I feel that it's overpriced, but then again, I haven't owned other dehydrators. We love the results and this is quickly becoming an indispensable appliance for our family.
L : tried and tested
I have two of these now. They're the absolute best quality and are consistent.
I have the SAHARA folding one too, but that one doesn't hit the temperatures very well, or nearly as consistently. It is a beautiful and sleek design, but it fails at what counts the most--- dehydrating.
The Sedona is by far the best dehydrator on the market. It does seem small-- but the damn thing packs more surface area and the trays are easy to clean and compact enough.
Just make sure to screw in the glass panel so it doesn't seem loose (some complaints in the reviews seem like people are really dumb and can't figure out the mechanism).
Cory Kemp : Great machine with unheard of warranty
Much better than my old round unit. This one does a batch of jerky in just a few hours compared to the 6 + for my old one. I got two batches done in one day and did not even have to watch the machine because of the timer and great controls.
stephane : Sold a broken item
Very disappointed by this purchase. It arrived broken. It was obviously sold and shipped as a used and broken item.
MJ : Very Nice Digital Dehydrator, If You Don't Mind an Terrible Manual on How to Use It
I've only used this dehydrator a few times but so far, fairly pleased with it. I have used one of the cheaper dehydrators with the stacking trays and always hated the noise, the difficulty in cleaning the trays (fruit leather is one of my favorite things to make and it always seems to spill on the trays, which do not fit in the sink or dishwasher), and lack of time controls so that I can let it run during the night and not over-dry my items. This dehydrator deals with all those issues, it came completely assembled, with all the metal trays/shelves already in place, along with a replacement shelf and filter. I didn't see any of the bowing issues other reviews have mentioned but will see if that occurs with use. I've tried doing some banana chips as well as some peaches I had canned in light syrup and loved the results, the banana chips turned out pretty much the way the ones in my other dehydrator did, and the peaches were nice and chewy, a great sweet treat alternative to something like candy. I wish I could do fruit leather in this model without having to buy a bunch of additional trays since it only comes with one and the usable space for each tray is much smaller than typical stacking models so you really need a bunch of them to do leather. So not sure this is the best choice if that is a common dry task you are looking to use it for. Also, the manual that comes with this model is absolutely TERRIBLE, it clearly was just translated (badly) from another language to English is is pretty incomprehensible. The controls are not particularly intuitive so trying to figure out how to use them is a bit frustrating and takes some trial and error. The times given in the recipe book for drying fruit seemed to be really off, I needed almost double the time for my banana chips... but given the poor instructions it's possible I was using a different drying setting. For such an expensive appliance, they could at least provide users with a decent manual on how to use it.
Weltonlj : Great buy!
I was a bit torn because this is quite expensive compared to other dehydrators, but this is amazing! It takes up less space than my old excalibur yet I can do more per load. It’s also tall enough to put mason jars into for making sour cream and yogurt. I absolutely love it.
E.Swope : A wonderful little device for preserving fruit, vegetables, and more
I'll start this review by saying that this is something I have thought about getting since I was a little kid, when I loved fruit leather. I still do, if it is made with fruit and not all kinds of other things which wind up in commercial product. Now I live on an acre in rural Hawaii, grow fruit, vegetables and herbs, and have other uses for it. We got around 500 lbs of lychee this year :) but agriultural restrictions prevented me from sending any to friends and family. I made jam, but, TSA prohibits mailing liquids. When I talked to the USDA, they said that if it were dried.... and so, here we are.
In addition, my daughter is training as a chef under a very innovative chef and has some interesting ideas of her own. I will update this review with information from her when she has the time to do some of the experimenting she's been thinking of.
To get more to the point, the unit arrived very well packed, with everything as expected and no damages. I note this because when I first looked at reviews for this unit I saw that several people had received theirs with damaged trays. We did not have that issue. The dehydrator is a great size for the home chef, gardener, or anyone who wants to preserve produce, condense flavors.... It is a little bigger than a microwave, and something which would fit in the average home. It works very well for drying fruit and herbs, and came with a booklet suggesting uses. It works as expected, and then some. My daughter says it looks like a miniature version of the one she uses at work (in a 5 star, award-winning restaurant). I am sure she is looking forward to playing with it and trying some creative things. No doubt I could learn some tricks from her. For myself, I am just thinking about drying the lychee, mango and papaya from our yard, making fruit leather, and and seeing how well starfruit dries. I may use it to dry herbs, as my daughter suggested. Where we live, nothing dries on it's own. (I am effectively in the rain forest.)
This is a terrific little device which enables you to do to preserve fruit, vegetables, and more, and which takes up less space than you might think (certainly less than my husband thought it would ;) We're very happy with it.
M. : Love it! Very quiet
Love it! Very quiet, l have it in my kitchen and it is pretty quiet. 2 set up "fast and raw". l like the metal selves. Easy to clean. If you consider to buy it, l suggest you buy also a silicon sheet. I use it every single day! I also make crackers, cereal bars and fruit loop. I especially like the raw function because you dehydrate and keep all the vitamins and nutriments intact.
Thais Davis : Packaging
Arrived as stated no issues new in box can't wait to try it will follow up later. :-)
Easy to move to where I wanted to place it not sharp looks like nice quality.
Weltonlj : Great buy!

Vitaly D. : Five Stars
love it!!!!!
R C MAKIBBIN : Pre-season purchase and Amazon warehouse deal.
I’m very satisfied with the quality of the stainless steel racks. Looks like quality construction. Have used it to dry canning jars to test fan, heating element and timer. The jars were thoroughly dried and unit is very quiet. The unit was purchased through Amazon warehouse deal as a re-boxed unit.

Katelyn : Door Broken in Box
Very disappointed. Evdn though I have prime membership, I received my product 4 days later than I should have. When I opened the box- the door had broken off- making the dehyrator useless. Now, I have to drag it all the way to the UPS store- I live in Chicago without a car. Waiting for a replacement machine now. I wanted this product for nutrient rich dried foods & thought it was a quality product. We will see. maybe I should've purchased an Excalibur instead.
L.R. : I do enjoy working with it so I might be at it ...
This little dehydrator works very well. It has been used everyday since I've gotten it. Next season I'll have it from the beginning of the grow season so the food will get process as it is ready. I sometimes wish I had bought the larger dehydrator because I've a very large garden but know I'll be cutting back each year and and not having as many to feed. I do enjoy working with it so I might be at it longer then I'd expected.
J. Silva : Works very well, but not "compact"
I chose this dehydrator because my daughter dehydrates fruits, vegetable, and meats frequently, and I thought I'd follow her lead. Certainly, the appliance works remarkably well. And just as certainly, I should have measured the dehydrator more carefully before getting it. If this is a "compact" appliance, then compact has been significantly redefined. I'd hoped to use this on a weekly, if not daily, basis. I can't do that with this. This is huge, heavy, and leaves very little room to use any other appliance on my fairly roomy kitchen counter. After my test of kale chips and parsley, I had to store it in the pantry and offer it to my daughter, who has a basement space for alternative cooking purposes and will put it to good use. As mentioned, both the kale and parsley, of which I had an abundance, turned out quite well. I followed the included recipe for kale chips, and the result was so much better than making chips in a range oven. The chips turned out crispy but not overly dry, and retained their green color and flavor. The parsley was very successful, as well -- a bright green color, full of flavor and ready to use for cooking throughout the winter. Unlike some reviewers, I found the trays very sturdy and easy to clean. They did not sag in any way. Wish I had a huge kitchen -- it's a good product I'd love to use if I could keep it accessible on my counter.
Michelle R. : So far I love the fact that it's quite

J. E. Nelson : Awesome Quality Product With A Terrible Manual
While I would not call myself a dehydrating enthusiast, I have used them in the past. I mainly used the cheaper circular models with the heating element on the bottom that seems to require endless rotation of the stacked trays to ensure even dehydrating.
The Tribest Sedona Express SDE-S6780-B is a dehydrator with central fan in the back that is supposed to address the issue of uneven cooking amongst the trays. The mesh and drip trays are all stainless steel and dishwasher safe.
The unit comes with an operation manual and a cookbook. In my opinion, both leave a lot to be desired. The manual made more sense after I figured out how to use the dehydrator and reread it, but when I was trying to program the dehydrator the first time, the manual really did not help much.
To test the dehydrator, I opted to make some ground beef jerky. I bought 1 pound of 96% ground beef and mixed in the cure and spices. Using a jerky gun, I made some flat strips and some sticks. 1 pound of ground beef took up about 2.5 trays of space.
As there was really no “guide” for making the jerky in the cook book or manual (except it will take 4 to 6 hours), I set up the dehydrator for the “combo” mode. I ended up going 3 hours at the fast mode set for 165F and 2 hours on the raw mode at 120F. I had placed trays with the sticks at the top and bottom shelves and then I measured the internal temperature of the sticks at the end of the 3 hour 165F cook. I found that the sticks were within 7 degrees of each other. Not perfect, but close enough to make me happy.
While I still have a bit more tweaking to do with the temperatures and times I was pretty pleased with the final results.
Overall, I think this is an excellent dehydrator. With 11 trays, I figure I could probably make 5 pounds of ground meat jerky at a time if I am careful with my spacing. The unit does heat much more evenly that the cheaper units I have used in the past. Once the timing and heat settings are figured out, this really is a set it and forget it type unit. If you are serious about your dehydrating, then this is a unit to consider.
Michelle R. : So far I love the fact that it's quite

Amazon Customer : Best unit out of 4 deshidrators including the Excalibur
Very happy with this after struggling with Excalibur which I do not recommend at all.
Suzette Lyle : Great
Been using it like crazy just wish it had a couple of smaller holed shelves
T. Presswood : Huge disappointment
The door will not shut completely. I have to put something against it to get it closed better. It takes so much longer to dry things in this dehydrator compared to my other one. Tomatoes spoiled once before drying. I paid so much for this and was excited to get it but what a huge disappointment. Wish I had never purchased. I bought direct from company that sells it, but wanted to warn others
Amazon Customer : Very poor construction!
Bought this and have used it twice. The first time we dehydrated some garlic and it worked great. Second time we were dehydrating some basil. Opened the door at the end of the cycle and the glass fell out of the frame hit the counter and landed on the floor. It shattered into many pieces. We contacted the seller and they responded pretty much immediately and said to contact the manufacturer. We contacted the manufacturer last week and have heard nothing back. Very disappointing!!
Gary H : Just get it
Used it 4 times since I got it. This is my 3rd dehydrator and I love it. Works so well!!
