Can the product use sawdust or wood pellets? The cold smoker cannot use sawdust and we do not recommend pellets due to the poor quality smoke it produces. We highly recommend using wood chips and larger wood chunks for best results.

What exactly is this used for and how is it used?

Answer: Hi this unit is used to add extra smoke flavor to your existing Grill. It is not a stand-alone smoker and should be used with another heat source.

Will this also work with the Kamado Joe grill?

Answer: Yes if the vent opening is at least three inches it should work

Answer: Yes

When used with the BGE during a regular smoke of ribs or prime rib, does this add a lot more smokey flavor?

Answer: We don’t use the product with BGE but for us it really helps the smoke to be more compressed inside, sorry if I can’t be of help. As far as I know the smokey flavor was depends on the fruit woods we used.

You state 2 hours between refills but that it can go overnight, can some clarify how that works please?

Answer: I loaded the tube with one lump charcoal piece that fit tightly and put in several smoke flavor wood. I lit the charcoal with a torch and burned for about 1 1/2 - 32 hrs before needing a reloading.

Anyone have a pair of calipers or micrometer to check thickness of tube?

Can you use it with pellets?

Answer: I haven’t tried it but I’m sure u can, u’ll just have to get a coal on the bottom to keep it going.

We have the Egg. If i buy this do i need to purchase anything else to make it work?

Answer: As long as you buy the Big Kahuna for the Big Green Egg you will not need anything else. Check out YouTube demonstrations. Enjoy!

Answer: Hi This is all you need it come with the adapter to fit on the Big green Egg.

Answer: No just some regular wood chips. Its tricky to get the chips started I just use some charcoal starters but it works great. Got to add chips every 30 mins . I use dry chips produces tons of smoke fits easily on my big green egg

I do my smoking in the garage with a vent to outside and am wondering does smoke leak out around the cover of the unit?

Answer: No

I like the idea but also use my bge for traditional grilling. does the attachement to the vent come on/off easily

Answer: Yes, you attach the “BGE vent attachment” to the cold smoker itself by threading it on. No pipe tape needed. Then it attaches to the grill by simply putting it into the BGE bottom vent, and close the vent around the vent attachment. It about 2 minutes to assemble the smoke generator itself. in order to attach it to your BGE it takes about 7 seconds. Fill with wood chips, light and plug in pump and your all set up. When taking the cold smoker off your BGE wait for it to cool as it will be extremely hot for a while.

Is possible to fit on Pit Boss 24’kamado grill?

Answer: I myself have a large BGE. I believe the adapter is somewhat universal. I believe this because when I used it on my grill, it slides in and then you have to close the vents around it. So as long as the plate fits in the lower air vent, you should be able to close the vent around the adapter plate, and it work fine. I hope this helps.

Answer: Remove the bottom cap and light fuel from the bottom. There’s a screen in the canister to keep fuel from falling out

Answer: Yes it creates an air tunnel. One of my better investments for the Green Egg. I cold smoked pork belly using this smoke generator and it did an excellent job. Delicious bacon too.
