Where's the lid? Gotta have a cover to keep the heat in and cook the topside.

Answer: This must be your first time. The next time your at any type of restaurant and I mean any, ask the kitchen if they have cover for their flat top griddle. They will probably look at you confused because these don't have lids. It's not like a BBQ where you get direct heat. And if you're not flipping your meat to cook it, you're doing it wrong bud.

Answer: it doesn't come with one . to cook the topsidew you flip it over its like the griddle at a fast food place they have no covers.

Answer: There is a lid you can buy separately. I understand the need for a lid, it keeps your griddle clean when you aren't using it, especially when camping.

Answer: It does not have a carry case, but it does have handles on the side and the legs fold up so when you move it, you can have it covered with the cover and grab the handles to easily move.

Answer: Assembly is required but it is extremely easy and straight forward. Anyone who isn't used to assembling products like this can do it!

Answer: No - Its more like the type in a cafe. Once you season the griddle as you would a cast iron skillet it cleans up pretty easy.

Answer: You can use metal cooking tools as long as they are not sharp or anything that wont melt in high heat.

What are dimensions of cooking surface and how high off the ground does it sit? The demensions in the description do not jive with the square inches

Answer: The dimensions of the cooking surface are 19.5 " x 19.5 " square, so a pretty big cooking surface! The height off the ground is 31" and the legs can fold up so it travels easily and comes with a cover. Hope this helps.

What is the long chain with the metal pc that hangs off the front right corner for? I looked through the manual I didn’t see it mentioned.

Answer: That is a match lighter and chain

How does it look when it's folded up for travel?

Answer: The legs fold underneath and all you have is the size of the griddle itself. It is not to lite. Got handles on the side to assist. Sure is nice out camping.

Can I use this as a table top griddle if I don't want to use the legs??

Answer: The drip pan hangs underneath it and so does the gas line. If you did not install the legs you would still need something to catch the drippings and have a way for the gas line to run to the tank without being crushed by the griddle. I would just cut the legs shorter if you wanted to use it as a tabletop unit.

It’s the perfect size for my husband and me. However, I wish it was on wheels and had a shelf for the propane tank. For one person to move it you have to move the tank move the grill, move the tank and move the grill to get it where you want it.

This was a great buy. It’s been a fantastic flat top and cooks well. Easy setup and break down at the camp site. Makes a great addition to cook bacon, eggs, pancakes, or whatever you want alongside a grill.

The Butrynski’s : Cover is not waterproof. Wrench does not fit nuts. Uneven heating.

Thankfully, I was able to take a sip of black coffee, crank it down by hand, look my socket set and say “I am a man, I don’t need you”

You can tell there is uneven heating from the burn in, most of the heat is in the back half or 2/3rds. You can use the front as a hold, but there is a lot of wasted space because of this.

But hey, for $125? I’d buy it again

The griddle is warped after a handful of uses.
The cover is not waterproof. My griddle is now rusted.
I may have to return.

As many have stated, the bottom 1/4 of it doesnt get much heat so its more like a holding spot or you can start things there and then rotate them around so the ones that were at the colder spots now get the direct heat. I cook for about 4-5 people on it frequently, if you plan on cooking for a lot of people id look into a flat top/griddle with a larger area to cook on, it is no problem to cook for as many people as you want on it but it would be a lot quicker with a larger one. Also it doesnt have much area to store anything or hang much from so make sure you have a spot to place cooked food etc on.

MJL : Works well, heat is a little uneven

I’ve only used it for vegtables and the occasional veggie-burger. It works great for that purpose. I grilled a huge amount of onions and mushrooms with great success. The front 1/3 does not get direct heat, and the outer edges get less that the center, but if you make that part of your plan it's no big deal.
I had no problems assembling it, although the directions were a little odd. It’s a good grilling option for the price.
