How many ball bearings?

Answer: I wouldn't try taking it apart to count them.... I own 2 of these reels and have not had any problems.

What size line should I use

Answer: 2,4 or 6 pound test. It is for ice fishing. It should have cold weather grease in it.

How does this reel attach to the pole ?

Answer: The reel mounts are pre-mounted on the fishing pole for easy attachment.

Answer: Your rod may have a couple rings on it. A couple wraps of electrical tape works real well.
