Answer: I bought these primarily for saltwater fishing and have not seen any rusting. As with all my fishing tools, rinsing them with freshwater after use is a habit everyone should have. Also, periodically spraying with a light coat of protective oil never hurts too.
Answer: Yes they do. Washing with fresh water may delay the rusting but it will eventually rust. I dont take care of them too well and had these for a year now. I was able to wash off most of the rust with a sponge. The only part you cant clean is the handle where the scissor is molded in. Water seems to seep in there and rust. These are great for cutting most baits including crabs. Does an excellent job on braids too. Ordering another one just because theyre pretty damn good for the price.
Answer: They are "titanium-bonded" steel, possibly stainless steel. Titanium will oxidize but is highly resistant to corrosion, especially against salt solutions (which should include natural saltwater of all but the most saline environments. So no, they shouldn't "rust" like an untreated steel would, but rinsing your fishing gear in clean fresh water after use is always recommended.

Answer: The blade is stamped "titanium", not stainless. I would keep them clean and oiled since the blades are slightly serrated so they cut line perfectly.

I needed a good set of scissors for daily use in my workshop and came across these. Wow! They cut as nicely as they look. I also picked up a set of the Cuda snips and they are equally sturdy. Check both of them out if you are tired of paying double for Fiskars only to have them wear out with hard use.

I use these Cuda Shears to cut bait fish, squid, and braided and monofilament fishing line while boating. The shears work great. It seems to me that using shears to cut bait on a small boat is much safer and more convenient than using a bait knife.
