What's the difference between mercury oil
Answer: It is the same as Mercury oil. Quicksilver is the Mercury lubricant brand and has been for years.
Answer: Mercury and quicksilver are the same product with the only difference branding. Quicksilver is the retail brand, mercury is the dealer/ mechanic brand.
Answer: All I can say it runs as smooth as when we used Merc oil. My dad would use car oil and it didn't run smooth and was also louder. I read somewhere, where it's basically the same product.

Answer: This product is a mineral based oil. “ The NEW mineral 4-Stroke oil is also now approved for use in all outboard engines; previously only our syntetic blend could make this claim”
Answer: No. It’s straight grade petroleum based oil that’s been used for a long tine.

Answer: Look on the engine and your book if you got one. It will tell you if 2 or 4 stroke
Answer: If you have to mix oil with the gas it’s two stroke. If you have a separate oil reservoir with a dip stick it’s a 4 stroke.
Answer: If you mix 2 stroke oil with the gas or if you put that oil in a small tank that mixes it into the gas, it is a 2 stroke.
Answer: Both engines will look very similar from the outside. You'll going to have to check with manufacturer's website to be sure which one you have.

Answer: It should be, right? I just got one 1-gallon jug. (I paid $31.95 at the time. Boating Accessories was the seller.) Walmart stores in my area sell this oil for about $10 a quart, so I felt I was getting a decent deal. It would have been a great deal if I would have received 3 jugs as advertised.
