Answer: I'm sorry but I cannot recommend this sealer. It only sealed part of the time. I was in the middle of freezing corn and had to go to Walmart and buy a cheap one which worked great and I was able to finish.

Deffinately a quility product and I like how it has the options for wet/dry food, it makes a difference. Also the progress indicator is a nice little touch. The extra features make this vacuum sealer stand out to me.

CWV : Works great…but watch closing the lid

It’s a great addition and it will save a lot of food. Be cautious when closing the lid (it takes equal force on both ends til the latches ‘click’) and when aligning the open end of the bags along the heat / seal strip…you will know if you have a solid seal by how quickly the air is suctioned out….if it’s not sealed completely, there will be a wrinkle on the seal seam.

The Ausomm Model AU-2021 works as advertised. The sealer is easy to use and has some nice features.

While the manual is not clearly written, the operation of the sealer is fairly intuitive and the manual does clearly cover the main points.

There is a setting for both dry and moist foods and while the result with either setting appears to be the same to me since I cannot test the vacuum state, I will trust in them to know what they are doing.

In normal operation you simply place the food or other material in a bag, leaving some room at the top and lay it flat across the gasket with the embossed side of the bag down (this is made clear in the manual). Thereafter you set it for moist or dry and hit the start button. The machine automatically draws out the air to the proper degree and then seals the bag automatically. There is an LED indicator that shows the percentage of the job that's completed.

It is said that you can seal in cereal and even eggs in these bags and I wondered how that would be accomplished without crushing the cornflakes or breaking the eggs. Well, it's simple. Just select either moist or dry and then, instead of hitting the start button, there is a button labeled "PULSE" just hit that repeatedly (it's a momentary contact switch) to draw down enough air from the back without crushing the contents. When you are satisfied with the package, just press the "SEAL ONLY" button and your bag will be sealed at that point.

They even include a small hose and suction attachment so that if you use plastic food containers that have a vacuum seal in the lid activated with a hand pump, you can use this machine and the attachment to create a vacuum with those containers.

One thing to note! The instructions say to lay the bag across the gasket and press the cover down LIGHTLY [emphasis added]. With my unit I found that I had to press HARD on each side in order to get the cover to latch so the unit would operate properly. I don't know if it was just my machine or if this is common to all of them, but it's not a problem. Just remember to use it on a hard surface and press FIRMLY on each side until it clicks. You'll know it when it locks into place.

There is one other button "BLOW" and I was unable to figure out just what it does. It only works with the automatic Start/Stop mode, not with the Pulse. I thought it might be a means by which you could ease the vacuum level, like a bleeder valve, but that didn't happen. If anyone knows what its purpose is, please share!

Overall this is an excellent unit which will find much use in the kitchen for sous vide food preparation and around the house for most any instance in which you wish to seal something in a waterproof container.

This food saver vacuum sealer serves its purpose of sealing and preserving food safely and hygienically. The suction motor is very powerful, I thought first that it will not be that good. It has the options for dry food, wet food and if you want it really, really empty with air, you can do it manually and then you can push the "play" button to seal it. This is not only taking the air, it also has the option to put air (blow) inside the plastic container. Bags are already included so you can begin right away. Another thing, I think the 18-month warranty is great. I will update this post if something comes up.

I used product once…. Only worked once ! Directions not easy to follow, after one use, machine stopped working….lid would not stay closed, wouldn’t vacuum at all ! I’m stuck with it because it’s too late to return.

Friend of my suggested I get this to replace my old "food saver" from 20 years ago. Works very well, no problems with performance, tight seal and vacuuming. Will be using this product again in the future happily. The wine saver accessory is a super cool plus. I was able to use on Mylar bags the my old sealer couldn't do.

Great vaccum sealer, decided to get a new vaccum sealer finally because our old one got broken on our move. Glad I got this one. Works pretty well and it's super easy to use. It even has a blow feature incase you are using it on something that requires air on it. As you guys can see it is able to suck air out of anything and form shape to anything even a phone. Charger and random objects and to tear it apart it has something at the bottom to facilitate ripping the seal.
