how much wire can you fit on it?

Answer: i can't remember the exact footage, but it was a lot. I put the 1/2 inch turbo tape on it. We use it for a portable paddock on trips. My wife likes BIG paddocks so there is enough for two 30 x 30 paddocks with two strands and there is plenty left over. The nice thing about this reel is that it is easy to spool out and even easier to reel it up. The reel is plastic so you don't have to use all of the tape, you just set it on the ground and it is insulated or you can hook it to a T-post. Hook up your charger and you are good to go.

How large is the reel? The red one has about a 6” reel which would be better if it were 10”.

Are additional empty reels, spools, or bobbins available?

Answer: This is designed as a complete unit and would not easily disassemble to be placed on another spool.

Does it free spool out?

Answer:

Answer: If that means will it keep unwinding by pulling on it, the answer is yes, IF you push the locking mechanism out of the way.

Answer: Yes, just flip open the lock.

Is this product for metal wire?

Answer: I use it for electric fence wire that has wire interwoven with nylon or some other non-conductive material. It is a very flexible wire. I don't think it would work well with a 14 gauge all metal wire. It would be pretty stiff to wrap the wire around the reel.

Answer: We use this product with 14 gauge electrical wire for temporary cow pasture. I worked great and would recommend it , however we have not use any other brand.

Answer: It is designed for the poly twine type fencing material.

Is this a 3:1 turn? Does it turn easy?

Answer: It turns easy but it is not 3:1 it’s just 1:1.
