Answer: Don’t know, but this is the one that I use for freshwater and saltwater fishing. Works great, just pack extra batteries in case you get a big one and you haven’t changed them for a couple of years.

Received this scale for Christmas and am very satisfied with it. I live on a waterway in fort Lauderdale and fish for large mouth and Peacock almost every day. It's so fun to weigh the fish and keep a log. I discovered that prior to the scale my estimates of weight were way over reality!! Great product and it made me an honest man when telling about my fish weight.

At first I wasn't sure about the accuracy of the scale - but I just went with it and recently, while fishing and having an exceptional day fishing for smallmouth bass,used the scale weighing an assortment of very nice bass - what I realized is that the scale's calculation is spot on as long as you don't leave the fish hanging too long - the scale starts to change (not sure why) so I just took the first reading and left it at that - since I have been bass fishing for a long time, I can "guess-timate" the approximate weight so I'm comfortable with the reading of the scale.
The gripper is what I like best - by gripping the lower lip of bass - it immobilizes them long enough to get a reading -other scales rely on a hook and many times, the fish wiggles free from the hook so it takes longer to weigh them and possibly injuring them.
As long as you are satisfied with "approximate" weights - the scale works just fine - if you are in a tournament, thhe scale will give you a good idea where your at. If you want totally accurate weights, then you'll have to use a certifed scale.
For my purposes, it works great for live on the boat "bragging rights".

It's very inaccurate, up to 1 or more pound differences. I have tried a Rapala handheld digital scales and it's about an ounce or 2 off but this one is really bad. Some ebay China made ones are better and cheaper than this. This is the most expensive and least accurate digital scales (I have 7) I have even owned. I guess I will be going back to my trusty analog el cheapo scale fish grip.
