Foreskinless Boy : They work.
You need a strong bite to get this bell to give off a noticeable enough ring. Like a big carp or big catfish, but it does work.

These are the best bells in the market, hands down. I bought these from a tackle shop, gave it a shot at night, first fish I caught was a shark, then a skate and then a bluefish. Loved how we were enjoying a bonfire and as soon as a fish touched the lure, the bell rang. I lost two as I forgot to take them off before casting. Ordered more from Amazon and the fun began again. Just don't cast with these as you will lose them. Put it in after you cast before setting the rod.

I use these while catfishin at night so I can hear the bite from my campsite 40-50 yards away. Works like a charm and saves me a lot of walking at night to check poles. Highly recommend these over the cheaply made alternatives I saw. The bell is really crisp and loud even during stormy windy rainy weather.

Cheap bite alert works like magic, especially once you pivot the bell down a little so the little rattle barely misses it, to the point it might rub it if there's a little breeze.
I use it for night Catfishing and it works like magic every time.
I do recommend taking off while casting and put it back on once you set the rod in the holder, I did lose one of them when I went for a big cast with my 8' catfish rod, otherwise the thing is solid.

Worst quality. I've catfished the James River for 30 years, These fall off the clip from the slightest movement, if you move them at all they break off the spring clip. Get the eagle claw ones from walmart or of you find better ones let me know

OK all these bells are the same but for the fact these are not name brand and are super cheap i would recommend these for the price alone. Mine are great and I use them every time im fishing for trout. Dont wast money on the in store name brand..get these!!

Originally got these to clip on a ribbon and hang from our back door for the dogs to ring to go out and they do work great! But our lasted rescue, a lab mix, is a hunter so I also love these to clip on his collar before he goes out. Now all the little squirrels and birds are safe! :-) Love these bells!
