Answer: No it is very light. They're designed to mimic lifelike movement without the extra weight but if you need to you can add a leader

Answer: Not sure of the actual weight of this lure but it is made from balsa wood so it is pretty light. The number 5 is 2 inches long so you will need spinning tackle and light line to get any distance throwing it. It has a high buoyance so it's great for working it on the surface.

Answer: The original Rapala was made in Finland in 1936 by a Finnish fisherman. Today lures for the American market are made in Minnesota.

Answer: Oh heck no. They were formerly hand made in Finland. They WERE top quality, then they farmed them out to Estonia. Now, it's a dice roll as to IF you will get what they claim to be. While they have updated their hooks quality, split rings are no longer included on the lure. Vastly overpriced for what you get, they are still effective and very fragile. While YMMV, I still use therm, but much less than a few years ago. Good luck and tight lines.

Loved the color looks different then in the picture but I think it's more life like I'm buying a few more and in larger sizes. This hit 5 fish today just playing around and that's a feat since the water is so high and the fish are scared.

Here's a true fish story for you: I bought one little Size 2 silver Rapala lure for my husband. It has netted us his limit in sea-run trout every day he's gone spincasting since receiving it. That's a lot of protein gained in trade for an under-$8 piece of painted wood! Exactly what I hoped for. And, actually, he hasn't lost the little floater yet, so the trade-UP deal is ongoing from my small investment. The sea or a Big One will get away with the lure, it's inevitable. But so far I estimate we've saved almost $100 (at current supermarket price) for couldn't-be-fresher fish. That's without figuring in the value of priceless fun mornings wading in the saltwater here in Alaska. Rapala lures are high end, definitely not inexpensive, but they win hands down in productivity. He's tried them all, and has sworn by Rapala his entire adult life. We were both bummed when local gear stores stopped carrying the brand, saying "too expensive, they don't sell well." It's good to know that the el cheapo lures he's been fishing with were the reason for poor catch seasons, not a decline in his fishing skills with age. Now he swears by Amazon as well, for offering these little charmers. So this is my Thankyou, Amazon (and Rapala), for the best deal per pound on fresh fish in years, and the best recipe for happy husband. We'll be back for more as long as they make 'em and you ship 'em.

I've used the gold, floating Rapala for 40+ years. It has been my "go to" bait since I was a child and I use it with confidence almost every trip I take. The larger models have caught largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike and smaller versions have tricked good sized panfish including bluegills, perch and crappies. Just vary your retrieve and you'll be as successful as I've been over the years.

I have never been one to use artificial lures because I could not seem to be smarter than the fish. I love this little top water floating Rapala lure. I may use it differently than many but have caught a lot of Smallmouth Bass, Sunfish and even trout on this lure. I throw out in a nice spot and let it sit there on top of the water and then just jig the top of my rod so it looks like a bug on top of the water. I love the excitement of seeing the explosion of a fish coming up and hitting it. It adds so much more excitement to me to see that explosion and FISH ON BABY!!! Love it!

This is my favorite all time trout lure. Ive caught so many trout on the rainbow trout F5 that i decided to pay the seller the rediculus amount of money they were asking for the lure.

フローティングミノーはラパラとザウルスのブラウニーだけ有れば事足りる。
ラパラはトゥッチングには向きませんが。
今となっては釣具店での品数も僅かで、有ったと思えばCDばかり(カウントダウンは良いルアーだけど)
Amazonで入手できて嬉しい。

I have always fished to some extent but I have recently started taking it a bit more seriously. I read an article saying that this is a must-have so I purchased a bleeding shad floater. The next morning I was catching largemouth bass in the shallows next to the dock with this lure. It was so much fun watching them blast out of the water over and over. I have never experienced anything like it. Next morning tried it again in the same spot and nothing. Moved about 60 ft down by some lilly pads and I was back in business. FYI I was on a 25 acre Kansas lake using a light rod with a spinning reel.

The 5 cm firetiger original floating is by far my best lure. I have caught smallmouth, largemouth, rock bass, freshwater drum, warmouth, and bluegill all with the same lure! Reel slowly and it floats on the surface, reel fast and it dives under. Both ways, it has a good swimming motion. The great thing about it is that it's tendency to float to the top of the water pretty quickly will save you from a lot of snags on a rocky bottom! I have learned that when it snags on rocks on the bottom, I can open the spool on my reel, releasing tension on the line,and the lure will float to the surface. (most of the time) Doesn't quite work for tree branches though obviously! :) 5 stars without a doubt.

I have been using these origional floating Rapalas for many years. Twitching it on top or swimming it produces strikes like no other. I have had hundreds of different lures in my tackle box over the years but nothing produces like a Rapala. I have them in many sizes and have caught many bass,trout,pickerel,perch,bluegill,and even a few catfish on them. I know this sounds like a commercial for Rapala but the fact is this is the best hard bait ever designed.
