Answer: I use this one for Spanish Mackerel and have caught over 30 plus fish with it since I pick it up. I strongly recommend this one.
Answer: This lure is good for catching any species of fish,freshwater or saltwater. The only thing to consider is depth of water you wish to fish. The deeper the water the heavier the lure can potentially be and still be reeled at a moderate to slow pace. I also use these for jigging vertically thru the ice.

A rapid retrieve will keep it close to surface and anywhere in between by slowing down speed of retrieval. The Kastmaster is also an excellent vertical jigging lure, tipped with a minnow head typically works best for me when ice fishing.

Answer: Hello, yes these types of spinners are great for any aggressive/predatory type fish. Having a variety of sizes and colors will be most beneficial. If however you are to choose only one or a couple, try the 1 oz size. Color should be relative to the natural surroundings and feed fish, overcast and weather conditions also play there part. As with many other things, the success rate will depend on the way your husband works the lure and of coarse luck. Hope I was helpful.
Answer: Bonnie, this, I found, works best on Trout. Brook, Brown, and Rainbow. I would have to recommend a totally different lure for Bass, especially Large Mouth. One tackle that I have a lot of fun with is the school lure. Also, known as a school umbrella lure, or Alabama Rig, or a Tennessee Rig. Now Some states have laws using these which isn't a big deal. Like, in my area, I can only have three hooks on the rig with the other hooks removed off the lures. It is still very effective and a whole lot of fun. Another tackle that works best for Bass are the Crank baits. Give these two a shot. Happy fishing. :)

If I could give no stars I would.. This thing fell apart literally after opening the package. I'm not sure how you mess up 1/4 ounces of metal to make a pile of poop like this but they did it. Keep in mind I have used and love kastmasters so I feel bad saying this but the one that was sent to me was of poor quality and will not be using amazon to purchase for these ever again.

This is my second time ordering the Gold 3/8 Kastmaster. I loved my first one but I had to cut my line when it caught a 25lb snapping turtle (picture included). I've caught just about everything using this lure: perch, bass, pickerel, crappie and the occasional snapping turtle. I don't know what it is about the gold color, but the fish like it better than my chrome/blue one. Catch fish with it on sunny days and with overcast. No issues with the treble hooks bending yet. This is my new go-to lure when there's no weeds around, and I'm so happy I can order it with Amazon Prime, as my local sports store can't keep these on the shelf.

The Kastmaster is probably the most versatile spoon you can have in your tackle box. Works on just about every species you would want to catch, both freshwater and saltwater. I use the 3/4 oz and above when doing saltwater inshore fishing, anything smaller than that for freshwater except when you're going for big predators like Northern Pike. This lure slays fish.

I bought one to use on a beach that gets a lot of surf. I've caught bluefish, Spanish mackerel, speckled sea trout, flounder, whiting and croaker on it. The treble hook is easy to remove when releasing a fish but I'll be changing the new lures to single hooks.

I decided to buy one and boy am I glad I did! It was simply amazing how well this lure attracts trout. These are great for getting lots of coverage since they let you cast a country mile! Using on an ultra-light setup with 4-6 lb mono I've pulled in tons of 12-14"+ trout on them down at my local fishing hole.

If I could give no stars I would.. This thing fell apart literally after opening the package. I'm not sure how you mess up 1/4 ounces of metal to make a pile of poop like this but they did it. Keep in mind I have used and love kastmasters so I feel bad saying this but the one that was sent to me was of poor quality and will not be using amazon to purchase for these ever again.
