back in the 60's and such these hellbenders were made by whopperstopper co. and were the best fishing plugs ever!! what size are these fake ones?

Answer: Can't answer your question but Magnum Hellbenders were the top choice for trolling for stripers on Lake Texoma back in the early 70's. Whopper Stopper was based in Sherman Texas then.

Answer: They're only made in the largest size of the original. They're about 5 inches long.

The Heddon Hellbender is the best big bass lure I have ever used in my 40 years of fishing, but this purchase from Amazon was a literal waste of money. I purchased eight of these from Amazon in preparation for a bass fishing trip. Six of the eight lures were defective, running left, right, and on top of the water. Multiple attempts to correct the erratic running patterns failed. These were clearly factory defects and were totally useless. I attempted to return them and found that the return period had expired, I have had so many good purchases and such good service from Amazon that I didn't even think about opening up the individual lures and inspect them, thus I discovered they were all defective during my fishing trip which was six weeks after my purchase. I am so very disappointed that my fishing trip was negatively affected and that my money was completely wasted. I will continue to use Amazon, but in a much more cautious manner. In the future, I will opt to purchase many of my items from Walmart at a slightly higher price, but with a much more user-friendly return policy.

I used these to make my own white bass rigs to troll with. Lake Summerville Texas is a fairly shallow lake so this rig will bump bottom in less than 10ft of water.
