Answer: Yes when it is fully open it is practically flat....it is a great net I catch a lot of bait fish with it!

I've tried many other cheaper umbrella nets, those with the plastic arms and/or hubs/center caps and they all have broken within a few uses. I finally found the Ed Cummings nets and they are night and day different in quality. Everything from the type of stainless, rustproof metal arms, the solid metal center cap/hub and even the high quality netting. Every aspect of these nets are superior to its competitors. It's so well made that I could pass it on to my children as long as I don't lose it. Highly recommended, especially if you regularly use these types of nets

Great product. Simple to use if you follow the instructions, sturdy, and definitely catches minnows. Reverse the top bracket and it folds right up again. Would buy again.
