Answer: Yes, you can use for flat lines and as release line for downriggers. Be sure to check the line pressure release based on baits to be used!

Answer: I'm sure that you COULD, but why would you want to use a nice flatline clip for a downrigger when you could use an actual downrigger clip?? Not only would you be using a clip designed for a downrigger , you would be spending about half as much.

anyone run braid thru this?

Answer: Not personally, but i don't see why you couldn't. As long as it's a heavier braid it should be fine. I usually wrap a rubber band around my mono i would do the same to the braid and put the rubber band in the release clip. Noticed a huge improvement on hookups.

Will this hold tension if you're trolling with 3 lb trolling weight for wahoo?

Answer: They have adjustable tension wheel. I have trolled for hoo with them no problems, But I tend to troll slower than most do for hoo, and I have a 1lb on it. But I also do not have it set to max tension

Answer: I have only pulled high speed lures with them.
