Madbite nets are available in two sizes and because of the patent pending design, will quickly fold for easy storage in any boat. Easy storage is possible with the solid and secure, patented folding design made of industrial strength graphite combined with aluminum and stainless steel. This net is very light but will handle the biggest fresh and saltwater fish with ease and without flexing or weak points. This is the last net you’ll ever need and you’ll wonder why it has never been done before.
The net material is made of a rubber coated, hook friendly material that not only keeps hooks from getting tangled but is also gentle on fish for effective releases. After landing your fish you can quickly get a total length measurement by using the ruler that has been printed on the handle.
These nets weigh only 1.4 and 2 lbs and will store in their own storage case. Total storage size is only 27” long x 8” wide for the small net and 33” long x 10” wide for the larger model.

Questions about KastKing Fishing Net Folding Landing Net – Super Strong, Easy to Carry Store,as Strong as Heavy Duty One-Piece Landing Net…
Q:
Will this hold up to toothy fish? Kingfish/Mackeral/etc that are going to be released?
Answer: I believe so. The basket holds up to hooks and stuff fine, I guess if you left the fish in the net and let it chew on it it might wear it out lol.
Answer: The coated material used on this net will probably not hold up for netting toothy fish on a regular basis. There are folding nets by Stowaway that use the heavy twine but cost over 3x more.
Answer: It should hold up as well as any net
Answer: Your big are we talking? Just your run of the mill mackerel, yes. Kingfish >30" no.
Answer: I believe so, it's pretty sturdy. But I'm catching bad, trout, and salmon. So i can't say for certain
Answer: Absolutely!
Q:
Is this Saltwater marine durable?
Answer: Seems pretty durable so far however I have only owned mine for 6 months. It does feel sturdy
Answer: I would think so. The materials used in the design of this net is aluminum and graphite/plastic components with a rubber netting material. I really like this net. It works well for my bass fishing application.
Q:
Is this net knotless? I am in WA state and many of the waters are selective gear which specify that the net must be knotless.
Answer: It is rubber. No knots. And pretty big!!
Answer: It is knotless, the bottom is sewn in with a strip.
Answer: Yes. Its rubber.
Q:
The nut on the inside of the net handle popped off can I get a replacement nut?
Answer: Call kastking. Kastking.com has phone number
Answer: I’m sure a hardware store will have one.
Q:
what is the top rim of the net like? The ones that collapse inward are very flexible at the top which isnt good for scooping frogs, crayfish etc out
Answer: The top rim locks into place and seems quite sturdy and strong. You should not have too much trouble scooping frogs and crayfish. However I would be cautious netting a large fish (say something more than 20 pounds).
Answer: The hoop of this net is ridged. I don’t notice any flexing of the bow. I use the net for bass, walleye and occasional northern pike. Hope this sheds some light on your concerns.
Q:
how big are the holes?
Answer: Small hole net. One downside for me.
Q:
Can you buy replacement net for this one
Answer: At this time we do not sell replacement nets.
Q:
Why this net in not made larger? For big saltwater fish a hoop 40 wide needed???
Answer: Check out Frabill nets!
Q:
What is the best way to attach a lanyard to the handle? I like to wade and it would be nice to attach to my waders
Answer: Hi Robert,
Answer: I would just drill a hole in the handle. Its aluminum so no worries their. If you are concerned a little touch up paint should do it.
Q:
How does this net do with treble hooks? Do they get hung up in the netting?
Answer: I don't have this particular net, mine is the KastKing Fishing Net Folding Landing Net, but I find it pretty awesome. trebles may get hung a bit, but I've not noted the hook penetrating the net material which has been where the real problems lie... Hope this helps!
Answer: Its is a great net.no hook hang ups to mention .well made.a great buy.been fishing 40 yrs.great net
Answer: No. I love this net!
Answer: Have not had any problems with any kind of hooks or line.
Q:
How come the images are not showing the MadBite net but the video does? What net would i get if ordered?
Answer: While I got the MadBite net when I ordered this I can't say for sure you will? I would assume you will get the same as I did.
Answer: It gives you the options of which net you want in the drop down menu .. I've got both sizes and they're very good nets for the price ....
Answer: I didn't notice that they were different. i got the one shown in the video.
Q:
Net parts the part that folds on the handle
Q:
What is the diameter of the net mesh holes?
Answer: A little less than 1/2”
Answer: A little less than 1/2”
Q:
Is this net strong enough to handle large catchfish between 10-30 pounds
Answer: I have the largest landing net (24" with extended handle) available and I routinely catch large flathead, blue and channel cats in both rivers and lakes. I was able to land a 40 lb flathead, with the handle fully extended, while reaching into a fast current river. You should be fine.
Answer: I probably would not recommend this for fish that big especially if you are catching them that large of a regular basis. I mainly use mine for bass and crappie which it's perfect for.
Answer: Absolutely with question!
Answer: Yes it is capable.
Q:
Is the 24" version big enough for salmon and steelhead?
Answer: Should be it's pretty big net!!
Q:
Iam looking for a landing net approx 20 x 20 x 24 with a fixed alumium pole of 6 plus feet. I plan to use it to pick up garbage floating in our canal
Answer: Hi There,
Answer: The two piece telecopic handle on this net can be fixed at full length. However the handle length is less than 6 feet.
Answer: It is 76” from the end of net to end of pole when it is full extended
Answer: It’s a telescoping ole but very sturdy. I would recommend for your application
Answer: So what is your question????
Answer: Was there a question here?
Q:
Is the large (24") net too heavy to use with one hand while rod is in other hand??
Answer: You can do it with one hand but it's difficult that's why I always have somebody in the boat to land the fish
Answer: No it is not too heavy.
Answer: No
Q:
Will the 20" depth accommodate landing a 24" to 36" Steelhead? I don't want a huge net in the boat.
Answer: I think that any fish more than about 24" in length would be a tight squeeze to get into this net. I do fine with trout and redfish in the 20-26" range. The net sides are essentially straight down and the net is about 12" deep. So it depends on how big your fish are likely to be. It is less than half the size of the net our guides carried when we were fly fishing for salmon in Michigan.
Answer: Hi Ajs,
Answer: The longest carp I landed was over 30” and 20 + lbs so I think it will serve your needs.
Answer: Yes, I routinely use this net to land big flathead, blue and channel catfish. It's very sturdy and should hold up well to those big steelhead. As another user has noted, the case is terrible but I always keep mine in a big bucket anyway. My favorite feature of this net is it's extreme sturdiness when fully extended. I usually fish in fast river currents so I need a reliable landing net.
Answer: Mine is fine for 24” rainbow but unsure about 36” steelhead
Answer: Yes it will. But, the case is terrible. The zipper broke twice. I returned it once but the second on broke too.
Q:
are there 2 models? I want the one that extends to 76 in.
Answer: Hi Paul,
Q:
What is the maximum weight capacity this net can hold while fully extended?
Answer: I've lifted my 35 lb. Toddler with the handle fully extended. Don't know what the max weight it can handle, but it's very sturdy.
Answer: I've landed a 40 lb flathead cat, with the handle fully extended, and it showed no signs of bending or breaking. Most sturdy net I've owned.
Answer: I haven’t tested it for maximum wt but I haven’t had any issues with fish in the 5 pound area. Great net!!!
Answer: Not sure. We have netted some really big fish.
Q:
Will this net handle Stripers 33"-40" and 17#-25#?
Answer: Hello,
Answer: Yes this net will easily handle big stripers no problem
Answer: No, it is not deep enough nor wide enough to handle that size of fish. hope this helps.
Q:
will this fit in a suitcase?
Answer: That would depend on the size of the suitcase. The smaller net is 20” long x 16” wide x 20” deep. The larger net is 24” long x 20” wide X 24” deep. The folded size for storage is either 27” long x 8” wide or 33” long x 10” wide and they weigh just 1.4 or 2 lbs.
Answer: The smaller version would fit in most suitcases and larger is slightly (6") longer. The dimensions (closed or stored) are either 27” long x 8” wide for the small or 33” long x 10” wide for the large net. They both store flat and are maybe 2" thick.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is this suitable to land striped bass from rocky inlet?
Answer: Yes
Q:
I see the net material is rubber coated but what type of material is the netting itself? Is it nylon or fabric etc.
Answer: I'm going to guess fabric. Its rubber coated so fabric would adhere the best. Its a good net so far.
Q:
can you use this for catching baitfish?
Answer: This net is versatile and can surly catch bait fish. You do want to consider the size of bait fish vs the size of the holes.
Answer: I bought it to catch my rogue chickens.
Answer: Yes, you can if you're quick enough. Although I recommend hook and line over it.
Q:
Is there supposed to be a stoper to keep the pole from coming completely out?
Answer: Yes my pole does not come out. Been using all year now. Probley 50 fish in it. I have never had the pole come all the way out.
Answer: Yes there is a cap on end of pole to stop pole from coming out. It’s a screw in type and comes with pole. I’m thinking it’s for extension of the pole or attachment like lure retriever.
Answer: I agree. You can see it in the product photo if you use the zoom feature. I have not had either section of my net come disconnected.
Q:
Would this work for catching chickens?
Answer: It is a great net for water use because of the rubber coating on the net. It may be harmful on delicate feathers.
Q:
What is the diameter of the net mesh holes?
Answer: A little less than 1/2”
Answer: A little less than 1/2”
Q:
Obviously not big enough for a 30lb King Salmon?
Answer: That is a pretty safe assumption. I have used it for trout, bass, etc. Big game fish would require a bigger net.
Q:
Could this net hold up catching Blue Crabs?
Answer: It’s a pretty strong net I think it would but you will tear it up faster
Answer: Awesome net love it
Answer: I can’t really be sure, but if you’re down scraping the bottom most of the time I’m leaning towards saying no it wouldn’t hold up
Q:
Is this net knotless? I am in WA state and many of the waters are selective gear which specify that the net must be knotless.
Answer: It is rubber. No knots. And pretty big!!
Answer: It is knotless, the bottom is sewn in with a strip.
Answer: Yes. Its rubber.
Q:
I am trying to buy this for my husband for Christmas. He fishes for steelhead and salmon. Is this a good net for that and which size should i get?
Answer: I think this net would work for your application. These nets are really clever and well made. I specifically wanted a net that folded up to use in my boat. Works like a charm. I would recommend that the largest size would be best for salmon and steelhead.
Answer: This is the smaller one which I thought was to small in photo. Turned out perfect. Nice extension and net. I’d say 15-20 lbs you would be able to. 20lbs or more the bigger net probably the way to go.
Answer: It will work good for your husband. Its light weight and durable and big enough also. I would recommend the biggest size for salmon and steelhead. Especially for the price its a great net.
Answer: Get the large size. I use it for salmon too, although I wish it was a bit bigger. It’s portability is a feature that’s hard to beat.
Q:
Which size is this listing for?! Large or Medium?
Answer: Medium....but plenty big. Quality product and am quite pleased
Answer: You would typically make your selection from the drop down menu. At this time the larger net is sold out, so only the 20" is offered.
Q:
Is this 20" net have a handle that extends or not, pic says it doesn't but drawing shows it does, can u please let me know ? Thanks in advanced
Answer: On the net I got the handle collapses into the net frame making the net much shorter for packing. The handle will then extend out of the net. So collapsed the net is about 27.5" long and extended it is about 45.5" total length. The handle itself does not "telescope" into itself or extend to make the handle longer. The handle is a a fixed length.
Answer: Yes, the handle extends 50 inches and twists for a secure "lock". From the very front of the net to the tip of the handle fully extended is 67 inches.
Answer: Yes...It does extend.
Answer: It extends
Answer: Yes, it extends
Q:
what's the difference between the fixed and telescopic handles if they both fold/collapse?
Answer: I would think with the fixed handle net the handle doesn’t collapse into the net but the net folds?
Q:
20" net handle is set ? and does not extend? if so what is the length shortest to longest while extended. ?
Answer: The smallest net is 20” long x 16” wide and 20” deep with a handle that extends to a full 45” long.
Q:
For the 24 inch hoop net, can the 2nd piece of the handle be extended partially only or does it have to be fully extended to lock it down?
Answer: It doesn't have to be fully extended , pull it out as far as you need and tighten the lock ring ... Great net , Salmon up to 30lbs were no problem ....
Answer: It can be partially extended and locked down.
Q:
Could this handle a 40" Northern Pike?
Answer: The dimensions of the larger net are: 24” long x 20” wide X 24” deep. It is reinforced and should be fine to catch larger fish.
Answer: I think so , I’ve landed 44” redfish with it . I live in Louisiana , and using it fishing seams to be holding up to the brackish water we have . I do like that it extends out also .
Q:
What is the Warranty?
Answer: Amazon replaced it once.
Q:
What what is the overall extended length length from the end of the handle to the end of the net.
Answer: 5 feet. It’s a nice net and design
Answer: 60 inches. Definitely long enough
Answer: 6 feet
Q:
Do you get both nets?
Answer: No, you only get one net. This depicts the various positions of the telescoping handle. This is a great net, no bones about it. Buy one!
Answer: You purchase the net of your choice. The photo shows two nets but each is separate option.
Answer: One net
Answer: No. I believe the illustration is show the size differences.
Q:
Can this net carry heavy fish like carp?
Answer: Yes, this net can handle large fish, we have different sizes to choose from.
Answer: Any fish that you can get into the net, it will hold securely, but chose the size net for the size of fish you expect to catch.
Answer: yes
Q:
Can this net be used to catch minnows? Or collecting smaller fish in streams?
Answer: The net should work fine on small fish down to a couple inches and on fish that I have caught that were 20". I can't remember but I think the net "holes" are about 1/4" or so. I only wish the handle was a little bit longer for boat use so I could reach out a little farther.
Answer: This is a really nice net. Well made and easy storing but I don’t think it would work for minnows.
Answer: No
Q:
Does it float?
Answer: Hi there,
Answer: No.
Q:
is this the large verzion or smaller one ?
Answer: The smaller net is 20” long x 16” wide x 20” deep.
Answer: Large
Answer: The smaller one is pictured on the right.
Answer: The one I had purchased was the small landing net.
Q:
When will you have the large telescopic one with the 24in net?
Q:
I would use it for surf fishing, standing waist deep. Can the net be used without extending the handle?
Answer: Hi Toh,
Answer: You should, when you move the handle into place it clears the net opening
Answer: Yes
Q:
How do you keep the shaft from rotating so that the measuring metrics are always on top?
Answer: Hi there,
Answer: You could extend the larger first section and tighten the twist lock with the numbers are up. Although it still might turn. I find extending the smaller handle section isn’t really needed.
Q:
Would this work to catch bats inside the house? Awwwwkkkk
Answer: Yes
Q:
Can this be used in salt water without corrosion?
Answer: yes. This net is great for salt or freshwater. It has an Aluminum Handle & Net Frame, as well as graphite components so it will not corrode.
Product reviews of KastKing Fishing Net Folding Landing Net – Super Strong, Easy to Carry Store,as Strong as Heavy Duty One-Piece Landing Net…
Lanny R. Julian : Outstanding Quality
I was unsure what kind of fishing net I was ordering because I needed to replace a heavy duty net for saltwater fishing. The description met every requirement that I have and exceeded my expectations. While light in weight, the net is quite sturdy and tough. I would recommend the net to anyone who fishes regularly and wants reliability and durability.
duncan koch : Huge Net!
This net is huge! 6 pound bowfin barely fills it. But this is a very solid colapseable extendable net. My first one had an issue with the glue on the collar holding the extendable handle almost immediately. It was replaced quickly without issue and I've had zero problems with this one. Hence the lil loss in sturdiness.
lloyd : Great Net - Great Customer Service
Love the KastKing net, have used it on nice Pike, Fresh Water Drum, the extendable handle comes in handy on Walleye.
nathan c. : Kastking net
Before I say what I have to say. I just wanna say that I love kastking, and I’ve been only useing kastking Rods/ reels for two years( bass, pike, catfish types in fishing). I got the net in the mail yesterday, and my first impressions were not good, but also not bad. Pros -I love how small it gets and how long the handle is -PLENTY of room for the fish and a awesome coated net -I can put a heavy heavy fish in the net and the handle doesn’t bend( my 17lb cat was my test dummy) Cons -thought they could of use more metal where the plastic parts were -the carrying bad is pretty cheap, already has a rip -both handles were kinda difficult to open and close( sure it just need to get losen up)
Sincity Sinner : Fits a big fish.
The catch of the extension came apart and when I landed a 30 inch 28 pound carp the extension bent slightly. I probably should've grabbed it more towards the hoop but was fishing from a bank with about a 3 foot drop. I liked the net very much though. I would recommend buying it.

MyPublicName : Love this net!
As a person who fishes a lot by the shore lines of Lake Michigan in Chicago, I needed a good long net and I'm so glad I bought this one! Because it folds, I can easily carry it around without it being a bother. Helps a lot especially if you're already carrying a couple rods.
The quality is well built. Even when fully extending the telescopic piece out, it is still very durable and stable with weight in the net. On top of that you can also measure your fish with the ruler that's on the pole itself. Very convenient. Overall this net was a great investment and would recommend to people to buy it.
Amazon Customer : Durability
Have not used this net yet but it appears to be pretty well made. Interested to see how it holds up. Going to be netting lots of 4 to 12 pound channel cats this summer. And lots of 3 to 8 lb. Trout this fall. The only real possible weakness I see is the plastic latching mechanism for the folding head. Love the compact design!
Kevin : Sturdy with long handle.
Long handle. Very sturdy considering the mechanical parts. Reasonably compact when folded.
Aubry B Corley : Very nice!
The net is awesome but the bag to store it in is horrible. Not taking away from the net for that though. I really liked the rubber coated netting that adds durability while landing big catfish that like to twist and get their side fins caught in and tear up uncoated nets. The ruler on the handle is convenient. Folds up and slides together nicely. Sturdy af!
Nicole Huxley : Loaded with features and LIGHT WEIGHT!
I was in need of a net BIG time! After losing multiple 30lb carp when trying to land the fish I decided I needed a folding net. This thing is perfect! Rubberized mesh netting AND a small compact design. Perfect for ANY fishing application. I went with the smaller bucket size and it seems plenty big for the fish I target. REALLY love the measuring stick as well.
RSS : Nice net for boat or high shore
This is a big net, but folds down to a tennis racket size for easy storage on my small fishing boat. I like the coated netting that eliminates hook tangles when landing fish. I also like the telescoping extension, which I use when fishing off large rock in one of my secret honey holes. O.K., for improvements, I drilled a hole on the end of the handle and added a para-cord wrist strap for safety since it doesn't float. Would be nice if they added a stop on the end of the handle to keep your hand slipping off. When I'm netting with the pole extended, I do it hand over hand. The net is just deep enough to fold over the net hoop to "lock" the fish in, however if the net were a tad deeper it would be a better net. All-in-all I'm pleased with the net and recommend it. It's getting the job done.
T : Very nice net. Folds up for easy transport.
I finally got a chance to use this thing while fishing. It's great. Landed a 5 lb red fish with no problems. Extends and folds up easily. Seems very well built so I hope it will last me years. The zippered case probably won't last long. It's very thin and has to be almost stretched to get the net in and out. It looks like it needs to be about a half inch wider to allow easier removal. The holes in the net are a bit too big for minnows, but perfect for bait fish and anything larger. Ended up catching a hummingbird that got stuck in my garage the other day. It worked perfectly for that as well. Will purchase again if ever needed.
SherpaK : Good, but could be better! Note: Net does NOT float
I received the large sized net, and was fortunate to be headed out fishing. We caught a number of bass in the 2-4 lb range, and the net worked extremely well for most lures, but struggled with the treble hooks. I will say, however, that the net was better than my previous nylon net, but it would benefit by larger holes. What I liked: net was smooth to set up and extend. The handle locked easily, and did not need to be extended to be used. We did use the ruler, which is nice for larger fish (and bragging rights!). Flat bottom makes it much easier to release fish. What I didn't like: hole size on the net. Not bad, but larger holes would be better. Overall, I expect many years of use, and am happy with this purchase. UPDATE: I lowered the rating to 2 stars. THE NET DOES NOT FLOAT. I watched mine sink to the bottom today after landing a fish.
DJ : Bad design. Fatal flaw.
Returned immediately. Bad design. There is nothing to keep the net from falling off the handle with a heavy fish other than a friction-twist mechanism. No hard stop at all.
Gordy : Don't expect it to last.
Bought this net for fishing in Alaska back country rivers. Worked good for the first 3 fish then net started ripping apart. Used fishing line to repair net to continue fishing then extendable handle came out, plastic retaining device on pole broke. Did a temporary fix on that to continue fishing. All in all, back country (bush) fishing was great, net...well didn't hold up to what was expected.
Robert Gardner : Broke in half 1st time I tried to use it
Poor product quality. I bought this for the extension and foldup capabilities because I thought it would fit better on the boat. I used it for the first fish I pulled in, which was under 5 lbs. As I brought it up over the side of the boat, the pole snapped in half and the net and fish fell back into the lake. I generally love KastKing products... but this is the exception.
Briefus : Packs small works big
The net exceeded my expectations for a folding landing net ,I have used on several large fish with absolutely no problems. Being able to fold it up and store out of the way is worth everything I paid and then some I really like this net
Patrick P, Texas : Seems to be of great quality. Like the rubber mash and the bag it came with.
Looks sturdy, but have to see how it holds up on 15+ lbs.
Edit: It worked fine for a while, but the back handle came off. The pin that holds the back handle to the front part is too close to the edge, the metal broke and can't put it back together... Conclusion: The net is fine, the handle isn't...
C Wiley : Quality net
I'm a fishing guide who uses small crafts to navigate rivers and put people on fish. Space is an issue but a good large net is needed for some of the large pike we target. I have seen nets of this style for way more money and with out the telescoping feature. For the price tag this net seems like it will be hard to beat. Opens easily as well at telescopes easily and seems very sturdy. Doesn't take up much room once it is broken down. Many collapsible nets forgo the rigid front part of the net and say it easier to slide the net under the fish, i have had one of those styles and you really want a net like this one that has an entire rigid opening for better net control when getting it under the fish. I look forward to seeing how this net holds up to a long season on the water. I'll update my review if i find any flaws.
shawn lai : Amazing Net, do yourself a favor and buy it.
Wow.... another amazing item from KastKing. They are truly a unique player in the fishing industry, providing high quality items for the regular joe. The net arrived right before we went fishing on Lake Michigan, but unfortunately we didnt catch anything. I have total confidence with this net though, it is STURDY, and so light and portable. It folds in half and the telescopic handle is super long.
Maxwell : Love the net
Landed plenty of steelhead in this net in one day’s outing; however I had to send back to get a replacement because the handle bent. I learned not to fully extend this next to max length or it will start bending. Netted a few 15 and 20lbs steelheads out in Washington State.
Amazon Customer : Fantastic!
This net is exactly what I was looking for! I got the large 24in net, it is light weight but very strong. The netting is rubber coated as to help protect our native fish here in the PNW. I love how its got the wide flat bottom to the net insuring it is big enough for our largest salmon and steelhead. The ability to fold down to something about the size of a tennis racquets is pretty incredible. The price is also a huge selling point, most of our local shops have nets at the same size starting at $60+ with out the coated netting. You cant go wrong!
JP Lawrence : Great for a boat with limited space
I've got a 16.5' Alumacraft boat, which has limited floor space. I'm not a fan of letting things sit out on the deck because they could get kicked, tripped over, or broken. There is also the issue of transport.
I was looking for a net that would be sturdy and compact. Collapsible nets I've used in the past don't seem to be very sturdy. But on getting this, I'm actually quite pleased with this. I've not used this on any giant fish (mostly moderately sized pike), but I have fairly good confidence that it could handle a larger fish without failing. I love that I can collapse it down to fit in a rod locker. Definitely would recommend this net.
More sense than money : Go for the longer handle.
Overall a nice net. Wish I had opted for the longer handle. Product came damaged with slight dent in handle. Have to really force handle through support. I can live with it. Shallow net perfect for crappie.
S. Davis : Real solid net for the money
This was the third net I tried from Amazon. The hoop part is about 24 inches long, and its fits pretty well in the gunnel holder on my Bass Cat Caracal. The extend and lock in operation is easy to do, its got a stopper at the end of the bar (unlike one of the other ones I tried). Its a solid bass tournament net, great size. Strong value for the $$ net
jones : Great Net, Issues with Telescopic Pole 60cm after Unboxing
Immediately after unboxing, I had issues with the extension part of the handle (Telescopic Pole 60cm). The engineering of the telescopic part of the handle is cheaply made. The rest of the product seems like it is durable and high quality, but if I had to purchase again I would recommend not purchasing the telescopic pole 60cm. If I could exchange the product for the 50cm Fixed pole without hassle I most definitely would. Other than that it seems to be a great product so far. Will update feedback in the future.

Tyler Larsen : Perfect kayak net!
PERFECT net for kayak fishing. Folds up and can be stored anywhere, long enough handle to provide leverage and rubbery mesh to avoid tangles/ hook!
Lucky L. Knesal : Great net for the money
Don't you hate landing a fish and having to fight the hook out of the netting? I have not had that problem with this net. Even though I bought the wrong length when it was available, I still quite like this one.
Brook : Made with cheap plastic
I had high hopes because of all the reviews. The net itself is great quality, the rest, not so much. The foldable frame is really cool. I wish normal nets were made like this. The frame and handle are made out of cheap plastic. I can hear it cracking when I open, close and tighten the handle. I’ll be lucky to get 1 or 2 seasons out of this net.
Maxwell : Love the net
Landed plenty of steelhead in this net in one day’s outing; however I had to send back to get a replacement because the handle bent. I learned not to fully extend this next to max length or it will start bending. Netted a few 15 and 20lbs steelheads out in Washington State.
Amazon Customer : HORRIBLE!!
I bought this net for the 2020 late run of Sockeye on the Kenai River. The net did not last 3 days before the pole bent and 6 days into the trip the top hinge broke. It looks cool, but it is absolutely worthless piece of sh!t. I would not recommend this net to my worse enemy. Please save your money and buy a better quality net.
RickyN29 : I'm impressed!
I somewhat thought this would be cheap and flimsy but I must say I am impressed! Nice giant net with long pole that collapses down to a very small size. I have used it on my trips and so far and it has been working great!
Kevin : Sturdy with long handle.
Long handle. Very sturdy considering the mechanical parts. Reasonably compact when folded.
MAL : Don’t let the price fool you..
I was skeptical about this net simply because of the price it is being offered at. Upon receiving the net i was pleasantly surprised at how well it seems to be built. The net is also plenty deep to handle almost any game fish. I fish more than the average person so if this net does not hold up to my standards i will return with a follow up review. For now I am pleased and look forward to testing it on some big walleyes this upcoming weekend.

Rigorouslogik : Pretty good equality landing net.
Held up do this 16# 26.5 inch common carp. What I don’t like is the hole size. This fish got its fins stuck and was rather hard to get out. All in all it works.
Andrew Sawyer : Seemed great at first, but then . . .
This seemed like a great landing net initially, sturdy enough to land a steelhead salmon on the first use. Then in the middle of a back country fishing trip the extension handle came apart as I was extending it and a part flew off into the lake. Fortunately I was able to repair it for the trip with super glue and Gorilla tape, but it no longer retracts. This was only the third time I used it.
I am giving it 2 stars not 1 because it does seem to be well made in other respects, but this seems like a fatal flaw.

TB : Serious flaw in design . To date this is the worst buy I've made on Amazon.
Horrible quality. I could withstand the folding mechanism being gritty when folding it, I could withstand the cheap plastic spreader bar where you push a lever that you feel like your going to break when folding trying to fold it, I could withstand the ungodly weight for a cheap pole... But having it brake when tightening the second section on it is not tolerable. I used this for catfishing/carping and only landed maybe 3 fish until the collar that tightens the sections started coming loose and was hard to operate. The next fish I needed a little more reach so I loosened it up, extended it and when retightening it, it snapped... Now in two pieces it was obvious what happened. They use a small pin to hold these sections together. No matter how heavy guage metal they use for the handle to make it feel sturdy will help this horrible flaw.. inside that big heavy metal handle is a plastic retention piece with a small metal pin in it to hold the other section.. I don't know where these other reviews came from, but from somebody that fishes 3-4 times a week and takes great care of their gear, this sucks.
Jacqueline Lachance : Seems rugged
Bought this as a Christmas present so it hasn’t been used yet. But I did take it out to look at it & make sure it opened/extended properly in case I had to return. It seems pretty rugged & it was easy to open & extend. The netting is kinda rubbery, hopefully it’s strong. When it came, it was in a box with other items & didn’t have any packaging of its own, just the carrying case. The case was FILTHY!! It looked like it had been sliding across a dirty floor. Im hoping the material of the case will wipe off fairly easy, but some sort of packaging would prevent that. I definitely wouldn’t have bought it in a store like that Other than that, based on my first impression I think it will be a decent net.
J. McCurry : Great for the price, but don't buy for the bag
This net is wonderful for the price. Let me get the negatives out of the way first.
The bag that it comes in is cheaply made, doesn't slide on and off easily, and is a bit of a pain to use. I might eventually use it sometime when the net inside it is completely dry and I'm traveling somewhere and the net has to be packed in with other non-fishy stuff. Otherwise, I won't. I can't say that I really care about this, though, as I didn't buy it for the bag. The net was shipped in a massive flat box that was many times larger than the net and there was nothing else in the box. The net clearly bounced around in the box on its way to me, but once it was dusted off there was no damage to it at all due to its very solid construction (more on that later). I also didn't really mind this. Now, for the negative that I did mind. There were some machining marks on the metal hinge mechanism that made folding and unfolding the hoop not quite smooth. It still worked, but took more effort than it should have. These were easy enough to detect and fix with a quick smoothing with a file. I also added a bit of marine grease to make it even smoother while I was fixing this, and now it folds and unfolds really easily and smoothly.
Now that I've covered the negatives, let me cover the positives. This net is GREAT, especially for the price. It is very strong, even with the handle fully extended. I generally only extend it enough to get the handle slid all the way out of the hoop since I'm usually fishing on my kayak. Even so, I extended the other section and played around with picking up various heavy items in my garage to amuse myself since it was built so well. I hope I get a chance later this year to lift a big salmon out of the rivers when we're banking fishing. I have no doubt that it will handle it well. It also packs up very small for its full size without compromising hoop strength or being too narrow at one end like most collapsible nets. I used it yesterday out on the kayak fishing and netting well over 20 fish (it was a good day) and it worked great for every one of them.
If not for those machining marks that I had to clean up to make it perfect, I would have rated the net five stars for sure. Many people may not have cared about that, but I'm an engineer and always want my gear to work as well as it possibly can. At this price point, there's nothing else on the market that can compare to the quality and value of this net. I know of at least one more of these that has been purchased due to seeing mine. I expect that there will be many more. :)
Dieter Voigt : A nice compact net!
It’s a nice size net that folds very compactly. Would make a great shore fishing net or one for a trip to Canada. There is a lot of plastic on this net making its durability questionable - especially the plastic hinges on the hoop, but overall a nice net with decent length for a great price.
Joel Alonso : Good, except the telescope handle.
As long as you don’t try to use the telescoping part of the handle you will do fine!
Jake : Sturdy landing net, great for cats
I was looking for a sturdy, extendable landing net for lake and river catfishing and this net is perfect. It's solidly built and doesn't flex or feel flimsy, when fully extended, like some landing nets do. I really like the rubber netting and the measuring scale on the arm is a nice touch. Only took one star off for the carrying case. My zipper was broken and one of the handles was ripped from the fabric.
