Anyone fishing tomorrow? Quanjig and I are hitting up the Rez. Two weeks until the tourney season starts. Bring on the warm weather!
I caught 2 today on a squarebill. Quite unexpected when it's snowing and 30 degrees outside. I was burning it over the tops of the new grass patches.
Buddy and I spent couple hours at a local pond. Me? Skunked. Him? Couple bass, almost 4 lbs total. Me?
Just some local ponds. Went out today and got nada; however this is fishing and who knows, could end up with a couple 5 lber's
Yes. Tournaments all over the place this weekend.
Yesterday BASS Region 3 had its tournament on Lake Gaston.
Check the water temp and decide how far down the line the bass are for spawning and moving into the prespawn areas.
The Dogwoods have a long way to go before they bloom and the big snow storm that will hit Northern Virginia on Wednesday will have you at home reorganizing your baits and tackle!
Be safe in the snow on Tuesday night, all day Wednesday and into Thursday until the streets are cleared.

Nice fish bud!
Tough day today on the Rez. Very cold and windy. Tough to stay on a spot. The water was really dirty as well. Water temp was 41*.
Brutal, not my idea of a great day. I was happy the boat ran like a scalded dog!!
Yea, I agree. Very pleased both of our motors started so easily.
How has the reservoir been? and what have you all been using to catch em there? I'll be out there sunday
I will be at Mott's Run in Fredericksburg tomorrow morning for an ice breaker tournament. I'll make sure to let you all know how it goes

I'm heading out tomorrow too. Hoping to find some clean water.
Good luck findin clean water... this runoff is going to make it cold and muddy... I'll be on the hunt for it myself... shore fishing some local lakes in burke. Gotta get a line wet, when it's sunny and 60 in early march!
drove by today and it is real muddy. i'll be there at 8 am in a bass tracker feel free to say hey. any idea on what they might be hitting with this cold muddy water?
I'll be out there around 10am. I'll be throwing a jig. If I can find clean water I'll break out the drop shot and jerkbait.
water was really dirty but surprisingly warm. Temps ranged from 42-46.
I think your temp sensor is broken! I couldn't find anything better than about 42.5!
Pretty sure my unit is accurate...We ran way back into coves. Main river was 42*
I hit up my favorite pond yesterday and got 4, lost 2, and had about 10 that chased it to the bank but didn't bite. The males have moved up to the weedbed to prepare for the spawn.....another week or two and the females will take their place while the males prepare the beds (was fishing a crank)
Went yesterday at whyndam and got one male that was probably preparing to bed on a jig and one two and half to three pound female that was off a point on a Huddleston weedless shad. Missed a couple others
Water temps anywhere from 40 to 45 in the NOVA area, depending on the pond/lake/river. Folks, we're about a month from the spawn, not a couple weeks.
Muddy and 44 at Chesdin yesterday - tough fishing for sure. We've got more cooler temps after this short warming trend... I expect we're still a good ways off from spawn. I'd just like to see the water break that 50 mark and get them in more of a pre-spawn pattern.
Did some bank fishing on Lake Royal. Threw a lot but nothin goin on... the good news is I was able to get my little cousin out for a bit. She couldnt even catch any bluegills on nightcrawlers, but she had a blast.

I like that lake, it has some big ol' bass in there, a lot of pressure though in the warmer months but really fun to fish for sure.
Glad to hear you are getting family envolved and really glad to hear she had a good time with ya, nice job !!!
I was out yesterday and had two bites and one brought to hand. The lake I was fishing decide to do some work on the dam so water leeks were down about 5' from full pool and really stained.
The two hits were on a rapala DT10 fished very slowly and with my new BPS PQ in 4.7:1 it was barely moving enough to wobble.....on a side note I do like that reel so far.
