Hey guys!
I was out fishing today and I hooked into a MONSTER carp. I had a neighbor take some pictures of the fish, and I then released it. During this excitement, I forgot to weigh the fish. I was going to get your estimate on weight and length of the fish. The fish was caught on 6 lb test on bread. It took me 10 minutes to get it to the bank.
Here are the pictures!
Thanks!

How tall are you?
I am 5 ft 8 inches.
28-32", probably around 8 or 9 lbs.
Thanks for the second opinion, Burley.
To give you a frame of reference, this one was 27", 8 lbs. on the nose.
This one was 26", 7.5 lbs.
big carp
This one was 6.5lbs.
I'd def. say 8-9 lbs. They're fun to catch huh? Like out of control torpedoes in the water!
They sure are, and they put up one heck of a fight! I had to land this one with 6 lb test, and it was a challenge.
Never realy got why people consider them a "trash" fish. I consider them a good game fish like most people in europe do. Im from california. They are a great fight and grow to huge sizes. A 20 pound carp is more common than a 10 pound bass im pretty sure. My biggest carp ever was 34 inches. I caught him quite a while back on 10 pound test. I would post the picture but its on my dads computer. He put up a huge fight. The carp in your picture seems a bit longer and is probably just as fat as the carp in my avatar. Hes turned so his belly not faceing camera though. I would say your fish is about 9-10 pounds.
i guess around 8lbs also ;D nice catch
around here they are considered a trash fish i never understand why anyone would target them, ive actually hooked a carp in the mouth once on a luckycraft pointer, after a couple minutes of fighting that thing i just cut the line i didnt wanna deal with that thing at all, it was during a tourney so i wasnt gonna waste my time with that sucker

I definately would of dealt with him just to get my pointer back!
If you hold your arm out further, towards the camera, it can weigh up to 14 lbs ;D
This was the carp my daughter caught it was 10 lbs. 13 oz.

That carp is bigger then your daughter!
Big carp and lots of them, but you can't fish. Amazing sight, also a little scary.

i caught a 20+ carp on 6lb test once. I forgot the camera that day
My biggest common carp was 23lb on 15lb test, it was a great fish.
a couple of weeks ago a guy at the lake i was fishing at caught this one. it was 12 lbs. he caught 3 in about 2 hours. they were all about this size. he was using grits/kool-aid bait.
in the same lake a different guy caught this catfish, it was huge! (yes the guy looks crazy lol)
what did i catch? a bunch of little *** catfish lol.. oh well
here's the cat... didnt know you could only attach one at a time
next time you guys go out carp fishin try an ultralight combo with 2#test mono.its a great fight but make sure youre in aboat or theyll spool ya.
Where do you guys fish for those carp?
I usually fish in large shallow lakes for carp, usually with a silt bottom.
