I just got done watching Bill Dance fishing in the Florida Everglades and I fell off my chair . And he was fishing with a guide . What is this world coming to? Bill Dance on on a body of water that he does not have the bass trained! His show was nice to watch for a change!

Let me just say this DON'T talk down to me you don't know me! Frist off I did not say that Bill was not good. He has alot of good tips that have helped me along. I know alot of Pro's ,that know Bill and they say what you said. I did meet Bill a Few times and he is great.All I did mean is that his TV Shows are done on his lakes, and that it was nice to see him fish somewhere else. I have the upmost respect for Bill Dance!

And before Bill started fishing the phosphate lakes he fished regular old lakes like you and me. And guess what? He caught fish there too.
I love to watch Bill fish period. The guy single handedly taught me how to fish plastic worms. When you realize his show has been on the air for probably 35 years, it's not hard to realize he likes to take shortcuts. He knows people want to see fish caught on a fishing show. He also takes the time during each show to teach something about bass behavior. Not what lure he's pitching this week but something about bass behavior that might help a viewer the next time he's on the water.

I did not mean to upset anyone! It was not an attack on Bill. I was just trying to say that it was nice to watch him on a lake in Fl.and fishing with someone.I do think that if Bill was still doing tournaments that he would be up there with KVD or myabe better than him. I agree with you! I am sorry if you took what I was trying to say the wrong way.

Id rather watch City Limits. A new place for IKE and has to catch his limit. Bill is telling tips, and then gets a bite and doesnt get very "hiped" up about it. IKE SCREAMSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

I can't think of a TV fisherman I'd rather fish, or even just hang out with. Any of the Lindners or they're gang would be a very close second.

the place that bill dance was fishing is called browns farm here in florida. that place holds some toads. he hit it at a great time, because now you cannot fish the place because the gates how been locked by fwc. i fished browns for the first time about 2 months before the world knew about it and averaged 25 pounds for 5 fish every time i went. the guy who fished with bill took a 13 pounder out of there and put it into the tank at bass pro shop (where he works). a lot of people were chapped at the guy for doing it, but everyone wants to be a hero. i am just glad i got to fish the place before the lock down. it was without a doubt the best night fishing spot i have ever fished in my life.

If I had fished as long and as hard as Bill Dance has, and I had a loyal following of fans/viewers, I think I'd fish phosphate lakes too. Traveling can wear out even a young person and...how old is Bill anyway?

Bill Dance AND Hank Parker realized how tough the tournament life is and opted to go for the sure thing. T.V. personality. They are both set, and are both great teachers. Either one would be at least as competitive as Clunn. I believe much more competitive!!

Watching Bill and his bloopers, which by the way are funny as hell, kinda reminds me of my partner thats why I ordered a "T" hat signed by Bill Dance and gave it to him at our first tournament. That was funny when he opened it. As far as battles about Bill Dance threads, I think he is a great fisherman but age and wisdom has taken him from the getting up at O dark thirty to fish for 8 hours to getting up when he wants and tapping a show for a no doubt pay check. Wise man once said, "Work smarter not harder"

Oh jeez another Bill Dance thread. The man can fish...allright we have established that. Some people don't like him because all of his shows are on the same body of water, fishing the same places, catching what seems to be the same fish. Some people don't like him because of his orange hat. Me personally tho, I don't like him because he always uses a hand control trolling motor!

Bill dance can fish a normal lake... he has done well in pro tourneys....
The thing about his show is hes targeting novice anglers who do not know that much. Hes fishing a private lake to show the newbies that watch his show the basics of how to fish certain lures and stuff like that. Yes it is easy to catch bass in the lakes he is fishing. I agree there but you have to understand his aim is to show novice anglers what they are doing. Hel demonstrate style of fishing, explain it well, and the new angler will see him catch a nice 5LB bass with it. This will make the novice angler want to go out and try that style of fishing he did on his show.
Yes bill dance might "cheat" by fishing a lake where he is the only angler to catch lunkers.....however bill dance is also the guy who taught a lot of people the basics of fishing when they first started out....
