What type of plastic bags work for food items using this sealer?

Answer: Snack bags work great & mylar bags. If using on zip lock baggies you have to be very careful as the bags tend to melt easily. I did dome but put parchment paper above & below where I planned on using the sealer. Then did light touch only.

Answer: 110 volt

Can I use it on regular sandwich plastic bags?

Answer: Regular bags are too thin. I tried using it with parchment paper over/under what I wanted sealed. The plastic contracted too much or burnt through. If you're real careful, use parchment paper you can do the freezer bags.

Will this work on shrink wrap?

Answer: I wouldn't think so. It mainly fuses 2 pieces together. Doesn't necessarily shrink.

Answer: I am not sure. I used it on snack/chips bags, it worked very well.

Answer: No it will not. There is no heat control, it just get's hot.

Answer: I don’t think so .

Can I use it if in my country we have 220volt?

Answer: It is 110 rated.

Can I use on straws?

Answer: Yes. Timing is important so not to burn & shrink the plastic. Just fuse.

If the bag you want to seal is longer than twice the length of the hot strip, it is very difficult to seal the bag. You end up either melting the bag or burning a finger (both happened to me). You can tell it is such a lousy product when Amazon doesn’t want it returned, but refunds your money anyway. Thank you Amazon!

This is a pack of two and they heat up fast and get really hot. They can close bags of chips, nuts, candy, etc so your child doesn't accidently spill or drop them all over the floor. It also keeps the food fresh too. I read the isntrcutions and it says this can also be for hair. I wouldn't do that as you could severly damage your hair with this.

As described.CAUTION! Unplug or turn off unit after 6 minutes. Maybe alternate between 2 devices for production work.
Gets extremely hot. Much hotter than required for sealing application. Will burn through. Melted material comes off cooled device. The instructions say it can be used for hair. Do use on hair because it most likely will singe hair.
