I purchased this because we have an issue with moths and I don't want them getting into our food. I like the fact that you can plug this in because I have purchased some of the battery-powered ones, which don't get as hot and it's a hassle to replace the batteries. It comes with a very convenient plastic case to store it in. This product works very well. It gets very hot and easily melts the plastic to make a good seal. An excellent value.

Reverie : Seal your chip bags!

This can do a good job at sealing your chip bag.
It can bind some other plastics too, like shower curtains. Make it longer? repair a hole? add a pocket? It worked for me.
This should work well on vacuum sealed bags too. (like from a home kitchen vacuum sealer) I've got to try connecting two vacuum sealed bags together with this to make a two blister or more food package.

It takes some time to heat up. About a minute the instructions say. I think that is accurate.
The instructions say not to use this on thinner plastics, like sandwich bags.
For food bag resealing, pleating in the seal doesn't matter to me. I'd like to get a more flat result for some materials.

Delivered in broken box. Amazon refunded. A little sad it takes so long to heat up. Give it a full 5 minutes to warm. Otherwise it won't stay sealed. But once it does heat up it seals anything. Very well

unwieldy on larger bags of snacks, cookies, or cereal.

The heating element on this heat sealer is only 2.5” wide. Using it on any bag over 5” wide requires more than a left side/right side crimping. It will work but you’ve got to pay careful attention to overlap the efforts or the crimps/seals won’t be effective.

It takes approximately 2-2.5 minutes for this unit to reach its proper working temperature. I’m patient enough but the grands, not so much. The average bags we wanted to seal were 8-9” wide or wider and needed 5-6 applications to properly heat seal them. That part was annoying to everyone. Folding the bag and using a clip is SO MUCH easier.

Between the heating up time, so many applications and the cooling off time before this tool can go back in the storage box, it’s not worth the effort for negligible benefit.

All things considered, giftable but not our favorite item✨

I bought one for myself and 1 for my daughter-in-law because we both use Color Street nail polish and after you open a package it has to be sealed up again. People use curling irons and lighters. Too easy to burn yourself. This little gadget is the right size and seals perfectly.

This heating portable food snack bag sealer is handy. You do have to wait the 60-80 seconds for it to warm up the wand after you plug it in and turn it on.

You can absolutely use it for small snacks but I’ve noticed that if you are trying to steal a longer plastic bag is definitely a bit more difficult to do because of the limitations of the small area of contact with this sealer, and you really just crinkle things one area at a time. It does a nice crinkle of 3 lines.

Also, for thinner plastic bags this doesn’t do as great of a job.
