Fruits, fruit rolls and vegetables: from 130ºF to 140ºF, this temperature range will help preserve vitamins A and C.
Nuts and seeds: best temperature is from 95ºF to 105ºF
Meats and fish: should be dried on the highest temperature setting. Higher temperatures will keep bacteria and other spoilage micro-organisms, to a minimum during the drying process.
Herbs and spices: from 95ºF to 105ºF, Try using fresh Herbs and spices before they begin to blossom. Make sure not to load trays too heavily as this will prolong the drying process.

Questions about Ivation 9 Tray Countertop Digital Food Dehydrator Drying Machine 600w with Preset Temperature Settings, Auto Shutoff Timer and Even Heat Circulation for Beef Jerky, Fruits, Vegetables & Nuts
Q:
Is it loud?
Answer: It's as loud as any new fan you would put in a window, I leave it on the counter top and can't hear it from the next room over. So no it's not loud at all.
Answer: Not at all. A small hum, but you can't hear it at all from a few feet away, and not at all from the next room.
Answer: its pretty quiet. Equivalent to a small electric forced air heater
Answer: No it is quiet
Q:
Where can you find fruit roll sheets that fit the trays?
Answer: I use parchment paper instead of the roll up trays and it works amazingly plus it is cheaper.
Answer: Kitchen parchment paper works great. Just cut it to the size of the tray (with some overlap on the sides so the fruit blend doesn't leak out and drip) and you're good to go. Don't even bother with some specialty product. It's neither necessary nor better.
Answer: Just buy the 14" x 14" ones and cut them down with scissors or a rotary cutter
Answer: The kitchen store
Q:
If you take all the trays out is it a flat surface you could place jars on to make yogurt?
Answer: I found an inexpensive way to make yoghurt. Hydrofarm MT10006 9-by-19-1/2-Inch Seedling Heat Mat is rated at 17 watts. I place the milk and bacteria mix in wide mouthed plastic containers covered with a coffee filter wrapped with a rubber band to secure. it takes a while, maybe 12 hours, but it works. It helps if you can heat the milk to 185 deg F and cool before you place the bacteria in it so you get a denser yoghurt. My yoghurt is more like cream cheese.
Answer: You can always just leave the bottom tray in and put jars on it. The bottom tray is only about a half inch from the bottom of the dehydrator.
Q:
Does the food stick to it? Easy to hand wash?
Answer: Haven't had any problems with food sticking. I've done carrots, mushrooms, peppers (sweet & hot), sweet potatoes, venison jerky, & apples. Grid sheets are easy to hand clean & have put them in dishwasher (no hot, sanitizing washes or rinses) on either top or bottom rack. Think I took them out before the drying cycle in case it would be too hot, just to be on the safe side.
Answer: Very easy to wash. Sticking fruit, meat etc is minimal... sort of depends on marinades and sugar or fat content. I love this dehydrator.
Answer: For more sticky foods aka fruits I use a silicone mat. The trays are easy to hand wash. I did not find in manual whether the trays were dishwasher safe.
Answer: Never had anything stick. Easy clean up.
Q:
Does it come with 6 trays?
Answer: Yes it does.
Answer: YES AN WE LOVE IT
Answer: Yes
Q:
Are the trays BPA free?
Answer: Yes
Q:
Hi seller, what is the voltage for this dehydrator? i’m from singapore, not sure can it be use over here? thank you
Q:
I need to buy some replacement trays. Does anyone still have their manual with contact information on how to contact Ivation?
Answer: Didn’t come with
Answer: telephone # for customer service 866-849-3049
Q:
Are the trays BPA free?
Answer: Yes
Q:
Are the trays dish washer safe?
Q:
How many pounds of raw meat can be put in at a time to make Jerky?
Answer: Well typically we smoke our jerky first n our smoker for about 2 1/2 hours @ 130 deg, then shift over to the dehydrator roughly 3 1/2 to 4 lbs of strips fit in the dehydrator and leave it for about 5 -6 hours just so its not too dry but still moist in the center somewhat. Prior to all this, I soak in a marinade of your choice for 2 to 3 days. (Teriyaki is our favorite). I have never tried it raw to the dehydrator yet. Hope this helps.
Answer: I don't eat meat, so I haven't used my machine to make jerky; however, it's not a matter of pounds, it's a matter of how thinly you slice whatever you are drying. Any food sliced 1/8 inch thick will take up the same tray space as food sliced 1/4 inch thick (for example), but will weigh less.
Answer: I use deer meat so this is a guess. At 1/4 inch pieces about three pounds. It is better to have spaces between pieces.
Answer: About 4 lbs
Q:
Can you buy more drip trays
Q:
Has anyone tested it to see if the temp is accurate?
Q:
how many watts ?
Q:
How long can jerky stay unrefrigerated in a plastic bag once dehydrated?
Answer: I'm not sure How long it will keep in a plastic bag, since there is an amount or air and moisture that can still get in. I would recommend getting some glass jars to put the jerky in and it will keep fresher longer.
Answer: We vacuum pack our jerky as soon as as it cools a bit. You can put in as much as you want and put it in a cool dry place to store. I do not know how long this process will keep jerky but I stapled a small package to my garage wall three years and the contents are showing no mold or obvious contamination. I may try it in a couple of years.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: It depends. Assuming you aren't using curing salt and have properly trimmed your meat, I have had it last in a non-vacuumed sealed plastic bag for just under a month before growing mold. You'll start losing flavor before mold starts to grow. With curing salts, it could last up to four months.
Answer: Properly cured and dried jerky doesn't needed refrigeration. Most jerky today has been cooked not dried. That's why it needs to be frozen or refrigerated
Answer: If it was dried properly, it should never need refrigeration again.
Q:
What type of warranty does this unit have?
Answer: Gave this as a gift a while back but whatever came w/it is all I took. I didn't purchase an extended warranty.
Q:
are the trays BPA free

Does it support 220v?
Answer: No, it is a 110 volt unit.
Answer: No. It is 120VAC

Answer: I give it as a present they love it
Q:
Can I use the silicone trays in this? I want to be able to dehydrate liquids .
Answer: If you can use a silicone tray in an oven you should have no problem in this. Doesn't get nearly as hot as an oven.
Q:

Q:
How do / can you turn off the loud beeping that occurs when the drying process is finished?

Answer: As far as I know you can't.
Answer: I unplug mine.
Q:
Can you dry beef in it for pemmican?
Answer: I don't know what pemmican is. I due use mine for making beef jerky. With the adjustable thermostat we should be able to dry anything. We even dried watermelon!!

Answer: Yes. Depending on the thickness of the slice, 8-10 hours on its highest setting, which I think is 158°F.
Q:
Do i need n special kind of plug to use it in south Afrik
Q:
What is the warranty on this?
Q:
Is there a way to be able to not use the timer?
Answer: I do not believe you can shut the timer off. On power up it comes up to a set value then you can increase or decrease times 1/2hr at a time. You have to use the timer. It makes great Jerky. Takes an average of 10hrs or so at 150
Answer: It doesn't look like you can turn it off, only lower it.
Answer: No, not that I’m aware but you can increase the time.
Answer: Not that I know of.
Q:
how much clearance is needed under the cabinet?
Answer: I just answered a question about the dehydrator fitting under a cabinet. After I sent my answer, I realized you are asking about the 9 tray. I have the 6 tray. Sorry
Answer: We have it sitting on the an open counter. However it’s just over 16” so giving it another inch or 2 should give you room to access the buttons and for the vent.
Answer: The measurements are in the description. I had no problem at all just setting it on my counter top and there is plenty of room. I really like this dehydrator. It works GREAT.
Q:
Are the trays made of plastic? I cannot tell clearly from the pictures shown.
Q:
My front lid broke, can I buy a replacement?
Answer: I don't know. You should contact the seller or Amazon. Sorry. I use mine for decorated cookies and don't use the door.
Q:
Does this product support 220V ?
Answer: I Do Not believe it does but you will have to check with the manufackerer
Answer: no
Answer: Not to my knowledge- would need an adapter
Q:
Can you wash the trays in a dishwasher?
Answer: I can't imagine why not they're hard plastic, if nothing else don't dry them in the dishwasher
Answer: I would think so, however, they are really easy to clean. I just put them in some warm, soapy water for a few minutes and everything comes right off.
Answer: Ours arrived with pieces of the interior broken so I am not able to answer that question.
Q:
Do you sell extra shelves, just in case you break one?
Answer: I'm sure you can order extra shelves for this unit from the manufacturer .
Q:
I have looked everywhere for a drying time sheet on line that some reviews have said you are able to download. Has anyone been able to find one?
Q:
what is the % of water left in the product that is being dried
Q:
how do I clean the bottom after jerkey
Answer: There is a solid white tray that sits on the bottom of the dehydrator... I use that and it washes up nicely. To wipe out the dehydrator, I use Dawn and a mild scrubber, if I have something sticky, though using the white tray.. sits on the bottom of the dehydrator and does not take up rack space.. will save you from scrubbing in a small space.
Answer: With a little preventive maintenance. Keep a strip of heavy duty aluminum foil at the bottom.
Answer: Mild soap and water. Just be gentle.
Answer: it has a drip tray. Very easy.
Q:
Where can I buy more mesh sheets?
Q:
It says 9 tray is it 6 or 9 trays?
Answer: The one I purchased is a 6 tray dehydrator and this thing is outstanding
Answer: There are 9 trays.

Answer: If dried properly dried and stored in a dark dry place they can last for years
Q:
can the dehydrator set right on the counter or table?
Answer: Absolutely! Just make sure there's a couple inches on all sides for ventilation. I have mine sitting on my counter above the dishwasher.
Answer: It's kind of big for the counter top
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes, it can.
Answer: yes.
Q:
Are the racks plastic or stainless steel?
Answer: I'm on the lookout for stainless steel racks as well. Mostly they're $250 and up. Dear manufacturer, Please consider making stainless steel racks for a food dehydrator. Charge 25% more or whatever it is. thank you.
Answer: The racks are plastic. They are fairly sturdy, though. I've used it a lot and the racks clean up quite nicely.
Answer: They are high durable plastic.
Answer: Plastic
Answer: They are plastic.
Answer: plastic

Product reviews of Ivation 9 Tray Countertop Digital Food Dehydrator Drying Machine 600w with Preset Temperature Settings, Auto Shutoff Timer and Even Heat Circulation for Beef Jerky, Fruits, Vegetables & Nuts
Josh L. : The Best Dehydrator You Can Buy
This dehydrator is amazing. I got it on sale for around $100 and it paid for itself the first time using it to make 10# starting weight of beef jerky. The racks are plastic and light weight which I am ok with since they clean easily. I use this almost every week now. Recommended it to all my friends. I have now cranked out over 30# of finished beef jerky this year. (60# starting) The temperatures are preset at 8 specific temps but usually you can find a preset that is close enough for your product (temps are 95°F,104°F, 113°F, 122°F, 131°F, 140°F, 149°F, and 158°F). I have never needed to rotate the trays which has been fantastic. I like being able to just set the temp and time and leave it be. Awesome product.
toddl : Excellent for drying filament
I bought this to dry out my TPU filamnet and it's fantastic!
It's exactly what I needed- I can easily get up to 8-9 rolls in there, it runs very quiet and ridiculously simple to use.
Prints after drying my TPU with this thing are phenomenal!
Stephanie C. : It broke easily
This item broke down on me in just 3 months of use. I've barely used this in fact, I've only used it 5 times to be exact. After 1 month of not using it, I decided to use it again today and now the machine shuts off by itself whenever I turn it on and adjust either the timer or the temperature buttons. I liked this machine, it works and dehydrates my food perfectly but it broke down easily. I wish the company would replace this since it's only been 3 months since purchased this.
David Estabillo : Flimsy product
I received this product with a broken bottom tray. The shipping boxes are not damaged. It is a very expensive product made from very cheap materials. In addition, their phone customer support requires you to send an e-mail for your concern. Really!?!
Daryl Lawrick : Best Dehydrator Ever!
Honestly this product is fantastic? It is worth every penny and more. Way better than so many way higher priced dehydrator. Highly recommend
Adam A DeTerra : Good but whats up with the door?
Would have been perfect if only the door wasn't designed to have a big dent inwards for its handle. So that it catches on all the drawers every time you try and open it. which is pretty annoying but I guess nothing is perfect right?
Still does a good job just a weird annoying oversight every time you open it. Wiggling the door as you open it to have it not catch on all the trays
Sue E. Zanetti : Very Disappointing
Dont waste your money on this one. My older round Nesco works much better and much faster than this one and It takes up way too much room on the counter. They make it look something like an Excaliber but don’t be fooled because it certainly isn’t. It took 30 hours to dry blanched carrots. Very disappointed.
Kat Hathie : So far all I've dehydrated are various fruits and pureed (cooked) sweet potatoes for my dogs (they love sweet potato and ...
I had reservations when I purchased the Ivation 600w Electric Food Dehydrator Pro, but I have since turned into a big fan! I do wish they would include a recipe booklet with it however. I was able to find quite a bit of recipes online, but that was time consuming. So far all I've dehydrated are various fruits and pureed (cooked) sweet potatoes for my dogs (they love sweet potato and it's a lower calorie treat compared to ready manufactured dog treats). I would recommend this if you are looking for a dehydrator. Yes, it is a bit noisy, but with two big dogs in the house, I've learned to tune out the background noise.
Thebeganwulf : it's good. Parts
This is an awesome food dehydrator . The big problem was that I'm missing 2 drying racks not good. It is a 9 drying rack dehydrator not 7. Over all its good.
Craig D West : Great Value
Lots of space inside and well made. Variable temperature thermostat and timer. Looked for something locally and found nothing. Nice find on Amazon.
Nana : Received broke but want to try again
I didnt get to use. The shipping box and the top of the unit is damaged. I definitely want to return and receive another unit. The reviews are terrific and I have a garden that I'm excited to dehydrate
Heidi C. : Thought door was bad but my fault. Remove cardboard
Door hits every tray opening and closing unit. Turning the trays half way through to dry fully is also a pain but it is quiet and it does hold a lot of food. Update. Door didn’t close because I didn’t see the very clear directions of removing cardboard from the back of the unit. I’m thinking my food will also dry better now. My mistake
Lzkenndy : Love the shape, size, and power
I love this dehydrator. I have used the Excalibur for years and needed to replace it. I really didn't want to spend the big bucks for the Excalibur. I have also tried the round dehydrators and hated them. I love that this one is square and a little smaller than the Ex, but appears to be just as powerful. Very satisfied.
Globetrotter : REAL Review: Awesome for price x features!
NOT A SHILL REVIEW! I'm writing this because so many other ones seem fake plus the websites that review this product are all Amazon affiliates (LAME!) Also, I write reviews for a living at TrekTechBlog.com, head over and check out the outdoor gear stuff.
Anyway, I hike a lot and finally pulled the trigger on my own dehydrator. I'm super impressed with this one and would give it 5 stars but then you wouldn't read this review (amirite?). It came in two days and after a quick wipe and the recommended 30 minute first run, I popped in some fruit I had laying around.
It's cool on the outside during operation, the window lets me see what's going on so I don't have to open it, and the timer and temperature settings are simple to use. The only thing I would say is be prepared for this to take up a lot of counter space!
Definitely recommend it if you're going to be drying food regularly. If anything breaks, I'll follow up on this review. If you don't see a followup, assume it's still chugging!
Jay Scott : Great device, well made.
I really like the small footprint this device has. It is easy to configure it from a variety of different uses.
Thebeganwulf : it's good. Parts
This is an awesome food dehydrator . The big problem was that I'm missing 2 drying racks not good. It is a 9 drying rack dehydrator not 7. Over all its good.
Tiffany : Great Machine...Great Price
This is a great little machine...I have already been making fruit roll ups among other things. The timer and temperature features are convenient and easy to use. This seems to be a fantastic dehydrator at an amazing price.
Gary : So far, so good!
I've only used my new dehydrator a couple times, but so far it exceeds expectations. It dries evenly, dries quickly, and the sound level is well within reasonable limits, in fact I will go so far as to call it quite.
Adrian : This one delivers
Great size, solid construction. Makes awesome jerky and fruits at a good price. Well worth the investment.
BOK : First but perfect
This was the first dehydrator I've had but I love it. I'm a dehydratin' machine! I did several batches of kiwis, apples, peaches, bananas ... and then I had to do it all again because I ate them all. Cleaning - very easy, I just put them in a sink with soap and water, no real scrubbing necessary. Noise - It's about as loud as a medium sized fan. Not obnoxious but still noticeable. Size - I liked all the rack space but it's slightly too tall to fit on the counter and underneath the cabinets at the same time. Settings - Not a big deal, but it has preset temperatures and none of them were quite the temp I wanted, so I ended up going a few degrees. Ease - super easy to use Regrets - none
Lynda : Very good dehydrator
I love this dehydrator. The capacity is phenomenal. It is a bit difficult to get all of the bits that fall through to the bottom because there are ridges across the "floor", instead of being smooth. Caution when dehydrating peppers, such as habaneros or jalapenos-- the fan blow the fumes into the air and could lead to eye irritations -- best to dehydrate those in the garage or a back porch... From personal experience ????
Lzkenndy : Love the shape, size, and power

Finally, Christmas and gave to my son!! He used it right away and loves it! My complaint (and he has google) but there is no paperwork that details how to cut the food products and time to successfully treat them. He had to go on line and read what other users recommended. The paperwork inside the box only tells you parts, what you can do/cook, has a great shut off w/loud buzzer. I feel a description of how thick/thin w/cooking chart should be included. But otherwise, son loves its! Mom did good!
JC : Worth the extra money
Works very well and the Auto timer shut off is really nice, I like to set it up with meat before work and whwn I come home it's done ????
Tiffany : Great Machine...Great Price
This is a great little machine...I have already been making fruit roll ups among other things. The timer and temperature features are convenient and easy to use. This seems to be a fantastic dehydrator at an amazing price.
Peanut : We live in Oregon where our garden is fantastic. I have loved this dehydrator for many items
I purchased this food dehydrator last summer. We live in Oregon where our garden is fantastic. I have loved this dehydrator for many items, such as zucchini, tomatoes, fruit leather's, jerky, squash chips, & homemade dog treats. Every time I store it away, we start laughing because it gets brought back out. It is pretty much a good looking addition to my big kitchen and I keep it on the counter.
Cindyt : It works
The size is great. The noise level is minimal. It does the job. I do wish it had metal shelves, although that is not a big deal. The one disappointment to me is that my oven has a dehydrator feature that works spectacularly without using much electricity. I may not have purchased this had I known this feature of my oven. That being said, it is nice to have basically two dehydrators at the same time. I would recommend this product!
Jim Morris : Time and Cash Saver
The dehydrator is so easy to use, once you place everything on the racks, you basically set-it and forget-it. Automatically turns off, and cost of dried apples and beef jerky is a fraction of the cost in the store.

Joshua Miller : Four Stars
This products works well. Cant give it 5 stars as the temperature only changes by 9 degree intervals
Jan : Super! Awesome for the price!
After much research, I decided to by this Ivation dehydrator for around $79. I must say that I am pleased with my purchase. This dehydrator is very quiet and it looks great. I find it to be light in weight, which is a plus for me!
It does a great job! I love to make crunchy kale chips (only 2 hours!). It makes great banana chips, strawberries, beef jerky, and more.
The trays are made well and it has more than enough space to make tons of food. The automatic shut off timer is wonderful- and for this price, you can't go wrong! It works just as well- if not better than more expensive models. So if you are looking to make healthy snack choices and want a well made machine, this if for you!
MA : Excellent product for dehydration food
Easy to use and excellent oven
MapMan : We love it
I only have used it 3 times to dry my Mangoes and apples. It worked great, I like the timer function it makes it easy to adjust drying times.
Amazon Customer : Plastic trays
I thought the trays were metal but they are made of plastic. I don't know how long they will last. That being said, I have dried a batch of beef jerky, bananas and some cauliflower. They turned out delicious.
Joshua Miller : Four Stars

Dave : works well to dry out PLA filament
i use this to dry out PLA filament and it works very well for that. I drop the temp to 122F (~50C) for 10 hours, removes any moister the filament has retained. you can fit 4 1kg spools in it.
Jay Scott : Great device, well made.
I really like the small footprint this device has. It is easy to configure it from a variety of different uses.

Snow : Mother

Amazon Customer : rECEIVED IN ONE AND A HALF DAYS,ON TIME VERY WELL PACKAGED,NO DAMAGE
THE TIME AND TEMP CONTROL ARE GREAT AND RECTANGULAR SHAPE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN ROUND ! A COOK BOOK WOULD BE NICE IF INCLUDED.

tasher1 : Huge Dehydrator !
If you have limited space in your kitchen, you probably should purchase something more compact. This thing takes up most of my counter and more. Also, it would have been nice for the manufacturer to include times and temperatures of different items being dehydrated. I didn't have a clue, and nothing I dried turned out right !
Jim Morris : Time and Cash Saver
The dehydrator is so easy to use, once you place everything on the racks, you basically set-it and forget-it. Automatically turns off, and cost of dried apples and beef jerky is a fraction of the cost in the store.
Stuart L Markman : Poor construction
I have had this product for 10 months and used it about once a month for 2 too 3 days. It is warping on the sides and the shelves fall if put on the center shelves. The sides are very flexible and are warped. I don't recomend anyone buy a plastic dehydrator if the walls warp.
Happy Truth : Good Jerky maker!
Got this for hubby for fun gift. He is enjoying making jerky. Makes enough for you and extra to give away! Good thing I also purchased a cook book as there are no recipes. ( Jerky Everything. ) For hobby jerky it is a perfect size. Only wish the temperature went higher than 158- some recipes call for 165. Well made and works well- he's made a bunch already and enjoys his new hobby.
Julie Sands : So many vegetarian foods can be made in a dehydrator-
I recommend you purchase one of the Ivation brand dehydrators. It’s sleek look will complement most any kitchen. My spouse and I originally purchased ours to dehydrate vegetables and herbs we grow in our garden and it works great for that. For spices/herbs you can put them on the highest temp setting for 4 hours then use an herb stripper on Rosemary for example and place it in a food processor, mince, and vacuum seal it them 4 oz. mason jars using a Foodsaver and a jar sealer.
Later on thinking about kindness not just to myself but to all others I starting thinking about my consumption of dairy products and how I could do my best to lower it without suffering. I am a vegetarian for ethical reasons but do consume some dairy products. One of them is yogurt. Non-fat Greek yogurt makes an excellent substitute for sour cream in a dip or on a Boston style vegetarian chili. Well you can make Greek Yogurt using a Ivation dehydrator-the setting is 8 hours on 113 degrees Fahrenheit. Guess what? You can even use it as a seed starter on the lower temperature setting. Plant some seeds, and place the pots in the Ivation dehydrator on the low setting and take them out and mist them daily, keeping them moist.
Why did I start making yogurt? See, I kept thinking about the cows. Do cows really like to be milked? Do cows have great living conditions? Do these dairy cows have male spouses (bulls) that they get along with or are they forced to be with other females? Were they forced to breed (raped and impregnated) just to have them produce milk? This upset me so much I decided to switch from drinking organic non-fat milk to organic soy milk. I went through a lot of soy milk containers before I realized that perhaps trees were cut down to make them. Fortunately, I found a workable solution in the form of the GJS Soy Milk Maker available on Amazon. This wonderful device not only makes soy, rice and almond milk but also makes all sorts of things, including tofu-if you get a tofu press. I have even taken fresh tomatoes and made pasta sauce in mine. It comes with just about everything you need to get started, a strainer, and two things to clean the machine with. It also has a self clean function in case you left it sit a long time. You just need to get some 64 ounce Mason jars, Organic Soy Beans from Bob’s Red Mill –available on the Bob’s Red Mill Site, and a Rocco Bormioli funnel (available on Amazon,) a Foodsaver 4980 as well as several large mouth jar sealers, (so if they are dirty and in the dishwasher you always have a clean one handy.)
That’s it. You can reseal the Bob’s Red Mill bags with the Foodsaver sealer function and keep them in the refrigerator. Batch up some soy milk then vacuum seal it with the Foodsaver, but if you pour it in the jars right away it is hot enough they will vacuum seal on their own. Before I got Mason jars we were using large glass spaghetti sauce jars and the lids always popped when we opened them. The advantage of the vacuum sealer is you can vacuum seal it after each use so that the soy milk no longer has a short shelf date. It is like you just popped open a fresh box each time you pop open your jar thereby guaranteeing the freshest soy milk ever.
UPDATE 12/3/18-several years after using my dehydrator I got so overwhelmed trying to keep up with my yogurt needs I had to admit I could not do it. The small batches of soymilk and the resulting amount of Greek yogurt it produced and the long hours involved were too much. I eat a lot of Greek yogurt and use it as a butter substitute, a cream sauce base, in smoothies, in cheese sauces, in cakes, soups, etc. I am a vegetarian and eat very healthy so I had to go back to purchasing Organic Greek Yogurt, though I still use my dehydrator for making many other things. I look forward to when store bought Greek Yogurt is also available from organic soybeans. I use my yogurt makers for other things also and still make my own soymilk and nut milk rather than drinking dairy. I am certain those that just have a small amount of yogurt for lunch each day or something like that may find dehydrators great for making yogurt, especially if they do not make as many homemade foods as I. THE LATEST AMAZING THING I DISCOVERED IVATION DEHYDRATORS ARE GREAT FOR: I also make fantastic and delicious homemade Mustard Green Chips in just 4 hours. I think these are tastier than kale chips. I grow my own Mustard Greens (very quick growing,) and spray them with extra virgin olive oil and rub some salt on them. Then I place them in the dehydrator for four hours on the highest temperature (158 degrees Fahrenheit.) Easy recipe. MY VEGETARIAN 'TASTES JUST LIKE MEAT JERKY RECIPE': Spray trays with canola oil. Slice one package of vegetarian Smart Dogs VERY THIN, (I slice mine in my deli slicer wearing protective gloves,) coat generously with Sweet and Sour sauce then dehydrate at 158 degrees Fahrenheit for 4-6 hours (depending on how you like the texture of your jerky. Soak the trays in a solution of citric acid and water, then scrub them quickly with a chainmail type scrubber before placing trays the dishwasher. (I found this out after having a tough time cleaning the trays after making veggie jerky. Citric acid and chainmail scrubbers work great!-Julie Sands
Kijana : Love it! Love it! Love it!
Receives this just as hurricane Harvey hit Houston. We dried apples and bananas and ginger and other roots for spices. Give me a whole new perspective on how to make food taste amazing
Jill Olsen : Great snack maker
I’ve used this dehydrator every week for 4 months now and have not been disappointed. I did have to adjust drying times based on different fruits but I’ve got a system now. The machine is quiet however when the timer goes off it’s like an alarm clock. Overall I love this machine. I am eating more fruits than ever before.
