I am a Professional Home and Personal Chef and I also teach cooking skills. I take all of my kitchen items, tools, utensils, knives, serving items, other accessories, and food products very seriously. When I test and review culinary items, I am highly critical and meticulous in evaluating and rating them. My reviews are honest and unbiased. Good is good…bad is bad!

I use a vacuum sealer almost constantly for various purposes...including very frequent sous vide cooking. Additionally, I generally buy bulk meat and butcher to portions regularly and freeze for storage. I do the same with many other items as well, so vacuum bag quality is important to me to assure tight seals that hold without leaking in Sous Vide and allowing no air intrusion to prevent freezer burn when storing for the long term.

This set of bags are excellent and well-made. The 7.9 W x 11.8 L size is perfect for so many things and it's nice to have pre-cut bags instead of being forced into the chore of cutting bags from rolls and sealing both ends for use. The indented side has surprisingly excellent performance while sealing with a standard vacuum sealer, and can also be used in a chamber vacuum sealer that I also use. 100 bags in this product and worth every penny.

To be fair, I was a little concerned about the robustness of the indented side (the bumpy side). It is not quite as pronounced as other bags I use, and those are important for external vacuum sealing but are not necessary for chamber vacuums. That being said, I torture tested a few of the bags with various products and hung a bag half full of water for 5 hours without any issue with the sear whatsoever. (See Picture) These tests confirmed that these bags are the real deal and highly effective.

I'm very pleased with this set of 100 bags, and they will get much use in my home kitchen. It's a FIVE STAR rating for me, along with my professional and hearty recommendation if you are looking for this size bag! Super value at the price offered on Amazon, and I will be a repeat customer for these. Bon Appetit!

This are individually bags sealed bags. Normally you would buy the rolls of which you would cut it at the desired length and then seal one end. These save you from having to perform those steps so you save a little time when vacuum sealing your food.
You get 100 bags so the price is ok, but really, cutting the rolls and sealing one end isn't that much work so I think the rolls are the better buy

Using these bags makes it easier to divide you meats into smaller pack. especially if you live alone.
It takes long for whatever you are bagging to get frost bite and makes the taste just like you made it fresh.

Nothing wrong at all with these bags. They're a good thickness, easy to write on, and seal great. The price is competitive. A roll will always be a better value, but you can't beat the convenience of the pre-cut bags. The 8 x 12 size is more than enough to do a pound of ground meat or all-but the largest steaks. I like to throw a sealed package of brisket in boiling water to reheat it and keep all the juices in. These bags hold up fine on the stove. You really can't go wrong here.
