What is the distance from the seal to the end of the bag?

Answer: I'm not sure I quite understand your question. It will depend on how wide the bag is. I put it on the middle of the bag and hold it down until I'm at the side edge. Then from middle to other edge. It does take some practice to figure out how to use it. I like it to seal bags and have sealed several different sized bags. I like that it is small. Doesn't take up muchroom.

Does this take AA batteries?

Answer: The thicker plastic works the best. The thin plastic melts and its harder to get a good seal.

Do these work with mylar bags?

Answer: I haven’t tried it on that as of yet. It’s a handy tool though.

Does it turn off after a while ? No on or off button?

Answer: It only works/ turns on when you squeeze it together to seal something. Otherwise it’s not on or hot at all.

How to use?

Answer: You put batteries in it and let it warm up,then you slide it over the top of the bag and reseal it. I did not like this product and returned it.

Can this be used on bags that have been in the freezer?

Answer: Yes, bags that are in the freezer can be sealed with this machine. I just tried one and it worked!

Could this product be a fire hazard? For example if it's in a drawer and accidently pressed on the on position? Does it have any safety feature?

Answer: I don't think it would get very hot but I can't be 100% sure since I keep mine hanging up in the pantry.

I bought three of these to give as gifts. I have tried several set of batteries thinking maybe the batteries where the issue, but even buying the more expensive brand batteries, this doesn't heat up and seal the bags. It makes a mark on the bag like it wants to seal but when you check the seal it did work. Not happy can't give away something that doesn't work.

Does not work as described. It melts the food vacuum bags and does not seal or does not properly seal. Also, you can't get a straight line seal if it every did work. Don't buy this! I'm returning this item.

I was always curious about these bag sealers so I purchased this one and was pleased!
It took some time to learn how to use it but once I did, it was easy and effective.
One side seals (hold down for 2-3 seconds to heat) and the other side reopens. And I love the hanging hook it comes with too.
It is a nifty little gadget!

The way you hold it and how the battery cover is designed causes you to open it constantly making it hard to grip. That combined with the warming up period required makes this not too practical.

To all the reviewers that said it did nothing, and gave it one star...it needs batteries. There is nothing to tell you to add batteries and no instructions on where to add them so you need to use your head to figure it out, but it is pretty intuitive where they go.

When I got it I tried it and it did not work...then I thought well it must need batteries how else it is going to heat...where would batteries go...slid off one side and BAM! A place for 2 AAAs.

My expectations were low but I figured I’d give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised that this works so well. It took a couple tries to get the hang of it, but now I’m comfortable using it. The key is to press the “+” side of the tool for a couple seconds before trying to seal something as this warms up the heating source. The battery compartment was a bit tricky to access (sliding the top panel off) at first. What a great tool to replace the endless chip clips, plus this keeps my snacks fresher!!

I really like this handy little gadget. Its compact size makes it easy to store and you can really use it anywhere in the house but it’s especially handy in the kitchen. It’s fun to use but also helps cut down on waste by resealing food products so they don’t go bad as quickly. Definitely worth the purchase! And I love that the other end can be used to open packages, that was a nice design touch!

It cuts perfectly, but because of the piece that slides off to replace the batteries it doesn't matter how you hold it and having to firmly press the sealing end for 3-5 seconds to heat up and then depending on the width of what your sealing , you're pushing with your fingers or worse your thumb in the direction the battery compartment is opened. Imagine a TV remote where every time you tried to change a channel the batteries fell out.

I have seen these online and on television and was skeptical whether it would work as promised. Well, after the first use I can’t stop sealing my bags a d packages! Whether it is a potato chip bag, cereal, or Ziploc bag with a failed zipper, it works perfectly every single time. There is a handy blade on the opposite end that you can use to open bags as well. I would definitely recommend it!

It does the job I just don’t like that the battery cover slides off so easily while using it. I had to put a tape on it to keep it shut. I also used a sharpee and wrote in each side “cutter” “sealer” - just to make my life easier.

Do not recommend. I bought this with discount and hopeing it would work but it didn't. I put two new AA battery in and hold it long enough for it to heat up, but nothing happened. I then tried to use it to seal a chip bag, see if it would work on a actual bag, looked like it was trying to seal the bag but the heat it made just not hot enough to seal any bag. Also the bag opener on the other side is very sharp, be very careful when use it and always use caution with your fingers. Overall do not recommend this product, did not work for me.
