Would this net work for Small and Lg mouth bass fishing on a river or is it to small? Thanks

Answer: I would call this a trout net and it is small but I've never a bass too large for this net to handle

Answer: We don't have bass in Alaska so I don't know. We have landed some nice 24" Rainbow Trout with it though. Hope this helps. It is a nice net for the price.

Answer: The net is more of what you might call "Entry Level". Although the net is nice it was purchased for a Youth Trout Fly Fishing event as a door prize.

Answer: This is a very nice, quality, Trout Net ! The overall length is 20-1/2", with a net opening length of 13-1/2", and the width of the net opening is 6", with a net depth of 9-1/2". The end of the handle has a eyelet in it with a elastic lanyard attached so you can stretch it out and easily engulf the big Trout. I think you'll enjoy it. it's ideal for wading in the creeks with it attached to your vest or belt. If you plan on using it from a boat for bass, I suggest you buy a much larger and longer net. Answer: "Strictly" an entry level net. We purchased these nets as door prizes for youngsters at our annual Trout Unlimited Banquet. Good for beginners, otherwise I'd recommend going up in price to get a net that will serve you better in the long run....

The finish on the wood could have been done better by a six year old.
The wood has lot of chips in it with no filler.
The net is not deep enough if you catch a 16 inch fish.
The spring cord is too short.
Other than that it is a great net.

It was very cheap, but I won't be using this net again, unfortunately.

I've netted probably 30 fish over the past couple of months with it, and several complaints.

1) Too Small. It's simply not big enough for a couple lb trout. Too shallow and too narrow.
2) Tangle - it's too lightweight and tight-woven to do anything but tangle the fish. If they start flipping or spinning before you've retrieved your hook, you're in trouble. The hook tangles and gets stuck, the fish can and does re-hook itself or injure itself. It takes entirely too long to remove the fish from the net if you're trying to be gentle with it. You will kill the fish if you use this net.
3) Damage - the type of material is, I was informed by several experiences trout fisherman, NOT SUITABLE FOR CATCH AND RELEASE. It damages the delicate "slime" on the outside of the fish, and this can lead to death. If you're trying to c&r, don't use this style of net.

Very small net as I wanted. Looks to be well put together. It has the perfect length of bungie cord on the handle: not so long that it gets tangled but just long enough to match my reach. Very lightweight; I don't even know that it's there.

I wasn't expecting much with this net as it was only $11.00 and free super saver shipping.. But upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised. While made of wood it very lite. Nice deep net and attractive style (if a net can have style). Granted the finish was a bit rough with small varnish runs but the fish won't notice. For the price you'll be surprised. Saw a very similar one at Bass Pro and it was $19.95.

Good little net but the wood was cracked where the little eyelet was screwed into the handle. It still works fine but it was a little disappointing to receive a damaged item. It has held up for about a half dozen trout fishing trips so far so I guess I’ve gotten my money’s worth out of it.

Used it just the other day in the raft and it preformed just as expected. The size and shape of the net works well for any situation all in all it's great for fishing.

This is a nice sized net. I made the mistake of thinking it was a rubberized netting material. It is not. The wood has not been treated so you’ll need to polyurethane it. The construction is medium quality. I rated net as below average because I will have to do some work to be able to use it.

Purchased this not so much for fly fishing, but mostly for playing around in the shallows catching minnows with the kids. Perfect for that use, and works nicely for the odd larger fish I happen to catch off the dock. Certainly works better than the bamboo butterfly nets we were using in the past. For the price, an easy buy for a kid friendly net.

This is nice and light and is a great addition to my chest waders when standing in the middle of a creek or river. The quality seems to be very good and the netting has not given me any issue such as snagging the hooks of my lures when I've used this.The only thing I modified was the cord on the handle...I am short, and a long cord would allow the net to drag the brush when I am walking to my destination. I prefer an 8" looped leather lead rope. It make it easy to grab, grip and keeps the net higher on my short body.
I also bought a magnetic quick disconnect for this and that made this even better.

Great net. It was a little smaller than I expected. Some of the trout I caught could barely fit...and no that's not a fisher man's joke, it's just the reality. It's great if you want your small fish to look bigger.
