Questions about Cuisinart VS-100 Vacuum Sealer, Black
Q:
Is there a way to make it stop & seal during vacuum process(in case it's about to crush chips for example)?
Answer: Yes, for delicate items you start the process, then "cancel" when ever you want. You then immediately press "seal"
Answer: There is a cancel button.
Q:
I noticed one reviewer stated the bags are expensive. Does this product require specific bags or can you use the regular food saver bags?
Answer: We just tried some old Seal-a-Meal bags. They will seal, but they seem too flimsy and do not draw a good vacuum on the bag. If you use a different brand of bags, I think they are going to have to be the heavy duty bags with the cross hatch ridges.
Answer: any food saver bags will do provided they fit in the groove
Answer: I am happy with this sealer. I am currently using the bags that came with the product, though I plan to try other bags. I think it will work with others. Not proven by me yet.
Answer: I am planning to use other bags when we run out of the 4 rolls provided. I am not sure what Gerald S is referring to as to a groove, other than the width of the heating tape that heats and seals the plastic bag.
Q:
Ziplock bags and Sandwiches. Do sandwiches like deli chicken or Bologna taste okay after being frozen, can you use ziplock bags with this sealer?
Answer: People braver than me have experimented with & succeeded in using ziplock (thin plastic) type bags on the vacuum sealers, but one such person said he wouldn't do it on a new machine, suggested getting one cheap from a garage sale, Goodwill, etc. Do a YouTube search on the topic to get more specific details. The quality of any sandwich is going to suffer after being frozen. Good quality bread freezes well. Any ingredients with a high water content that's in the sandwiches may ooze water when defrosted & cause the bread to be mushy.
Answer: I would think the meat would be OK but if it were a sandwich you would be crushing the bread and when it thawed out it would be ugly. I do not think ziplock bags would work as they are too thin, but I have not tried it.
Answer: Yes, you can freeze sandwich meat..it does quite well..bread also freezes but is a bit dry after it thaws. You can toast it for your sandwiches and it'll be fine. I would encourage you not to freeze any meats and bread together in the same bag...as one person said, the moister in the meat will make the bread soggy, the bread will be pancake flat from the vacuum seal and it'll just be ugly and soggy...
Answer: NO ! Plus that thing is JUNK !!! I'm never buying another Cuisinart, just China junk now.
Q:
does this item come withvacuum sealer rolls?,vacuum sealer bags ? or it comes alone ?
Answer: It does come with Cuisinart rolls. I cannot remember whether it also had bags. I have used Foodsaver or other types of rolls as well.
Answer: It comes with two rolls of the small and two of the large. I really love this vacuum sealer. We grow all of our own fruits and vegetables, so this is really nice to have.
Answer: Comes alone
Q:
"I am looking to freeze several dozen unbaked cookies at a time. Is this the right machine and if so, can I use bags larger than a gallon? Thanks."
Answer: Yes, The bags that come with the machine are 11" x 10' so you could do a bag long enough for 2+ gallon size. I hope that helps.
Answer: yes, the Cuisinart VS-100 Vacuum Sealer would work well for freezing unbaked cookies. The bags can be made any size that you desire, as they are not pre-cut.
Answer: The bags are not pre cut so you can make any size bag. We use this vacuum sealer for freezing meats and fish. I am very happy with it. Very easy to use.
Answer: I think it would work fine for your purpose. The width of the bag is a given; however, you have the ability to make the bags any length you wish if you purchase the rolled plastic material rather than a premade bag.
Q:
Are the bags for this vacuum able to tolerate hot water for sous vide cooking?
Answer: I do not know for sure. You will have to check with either Cuisinart or the bag supplier. Many bag advertisement do show their product is safe for sous vide cooking.
Answer: The cousinart BPA free bags for the VS-100 works just fine. However, watch out for liquids inside the bag, because the machine tend to suck the liquid out of the bag...
Answer: Yes there good bags
Q:
Wet dry mode
Q:
What is the canister only button for? Are there containers that work with the accessory port?
Answer: I believe, as an additional accessory, you can purchase vacuum seal canisters for this unit. I have only used it with bags. The canisters due work with the accessory port. Hope this helps.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: There is an accessory that allows you to vacuum seal jars. I bought it but have not used it yet. However, if it works as well as the rest of the unit and accessories, it should be fine.
Answer: Yes, You can order accessories. There is a small plastic hose that goes in that opening. The other end attaches to the top of a container. After putting your product in the container, you can vacuum out all the air and the container will become air tight. This would probably be used for liquids like soups, etc.
Answer: Yes I think there are 2 sizes available.
Answer: You use for canning.
Q:
does it have a drip pan?
Answer: No it doesn’t have a drip pan
Q:
Does the Cuisinart need 3 inches of empty bag above the food to seal? And does Cuisinart ofter precut bags, or just rolls?
Answer: I only use about 1-1/2 inches of empty bag, it depends a lot on how thick your food is. I have not seen any precut bags from Cuisinart or any other brand so far. But I like making my own. Why use someone else s dimensions when I can make exactly what I need. So far I am very happy with Cuisinart vacuum sealer.
Answer: It does not need that much extra bag to deal. at the moment they do not offer precut bags but you can use any other brand.
Answer: I allow a little more than an inch of empty bag to seal. Real important to hold in place while sealing so it doesn't slip or seal unevenly. Not sure if Cuisinart offers precut bags.
Q:
Is there a moist/dry mode?
Q:
What electricity at it? 110 or 110-240 volt?
Answer: USA 110 some country's 240
Answer: 110
Answer: It is 110
Answer: 110v only
Q:
Is the drip tray removable?
Answer: No, it is not removeable, only the gasket around it is. I haven't had any spillage to yet, but if that should happen, I would remove the gasket & wipe & clean around the drip tray area, wash the gasket & dry it before reinserting around the drip tray.
Answer: I have not found it to be so. It may be but I did not want to force it. I just wipe it out carefully and it seems to work.
Q:
I need a rubber gasket for my vs-100 crusinart vaccuum sealer. where can i purchase one?
Q:
can you save soup?
Answer: Not really. Does not work with liquids very well. The sealer fails
Q:
Does this Vacuum sealer have the pulse option?
Answer: I don't know what the pulse option is. I use it to seal bags and it works well.
Answer: No
Q:
Does the accessory portal allow foods to be marinated?
Q:
Will this seal mylar bags?
Q:
My sealer worked well until recently. Now it vacuums bui does not complete the heat. I have to cancel vacuum seal and quickly press seal. Any help?
Answer: Mine ending up doing the same thing twice! Got a replacement and it ended up doing the same within a few months. Ended up cutting my losses and bought a foodsaver brand one. Works excellent!
Answer: Yeah, throw it in the garage, my own did the exact same thing.
Answer: It was the same with mine. And nobody seems to be able to fix it.
Q:
what kind of bag uses? what is the maximun size to cut?
Answer: I have been ordering bags from Amazon. I would suggest going through their inventory and select the kind that works for you. Ss far as length, I seal one end of the bag then eyeball what I am going to freeze. I like to leave about two inches of empty bag before I vacuum and seal the rest of the bag.
Q:
I need a new seal for this model can I get it from you ?
Answer: I only have the vacuum bag rolls for this unit.
Q:
I purchase large 10 lb bags oc chicken. Is this machine capable of doing this?
Answer: The weight of the chicken shouldn't be an issue. Maximum bag width is 11" and those bags can be stuffed about 4 in. tall, so if you can arrange your 10 lbs. into a somewhat smaller space, allowing room for air to be sucked out along the top and sides and all the way to the back of the bag, it should work fine.
Answer: You would need to make a very long bag and put the chicken about two pieces deep but I would think it would vacuum out the air. I usually buy chicken in bulk but do not make it all at one time.
Answer: Doing what ? Buying chicken ?
Q:
Has anyone had luck connecting either the food saver valve sealing attachment or mason jar sealer to the accessory port on this model?
Answer: No, I tried once and it didn't work. Not sure if I was doing something wrong or it was the set up, never tried again.
Q:
Are you able to use the Food Saver Brand bags, since I have a fair quantity of them?
Answer: You may want to contact Cuisinart to see if they can be used. The number for them is 1-800-726-0190.
Q:
I was just wondering where i can purchase the cuisinart vacuum sealer bags of all sizes for model vs 100?
Answer: There should certainly be many options right here on Amazon, or you can call Cuisinart for sellers in your area.
Answer: Good question. I haven't had to buy any YET........was hoping to purchase from Amazon. Hope someone knows as I could benefit from their answer too.
Answer: I've been buying rolls off of Amazon but I think you can also pick them up at Walmart.
Q:
I am looking for a food saver that i can store left over chili, stew, and other meals. there are just the 2 of us and i am tired of throwing away foo
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: I use my vacuum sealer all the time. What I like about it is that you can cook in the same bag. It's great for everything.
Q:
Only work whit vacuum sealers bags or i can used other bags?
Answer: Cuisinart vacuum sealer bags are the only recommended bags.
Answer: I use FoodSaver bags as well as the Cuisinart and they work fine. Haven't had a problem yet.
Q:
Does it work on 220v?
Answer: No it does not.
Answer: No
Answer: No
Q:
Is there a hands-free feature on this item?
Answer: I'm not sure how to answer your question. You place the plastic bag between the lid and base, push the lid down to lock it, then push either the seal only button or seal/vac button. After the sealing process the lights go off letting you know the process is complete and you push a button on each side of the machine lid to unlock the lid and remove your sealed package. Very simple operations.
Answer: Sorry, there isn't any. This product requires that you have to manually do everything. Hope that helps.
Answer: Not sure I understand your question...
Answer: no
Q:
can you save soup?
Answer: Not really. Does not work with liquids very well. The sealer fails
Q:
Would this be a good vacuum sealer for sous vide cooking? Are the bags safe to use for sous vide?
Answer: I would suggest you contacting Cuisinart concerning the safety of using their plastic bags for sous vide cooking. I love the unit for its quick, efficient vacuum sealer.
Answer: As far as I know you can use the bags in heating in water.
Q:
My food saver gets hot and then has to cool before sticking another bag in. Makes sealing meat take forever. Does the cuisinart do this?
Answer: No, this doesn't get hot. I can seal bag after bag with no problem. Hope this helps. I have also been using the Ziplock vacuum bags and they work great.
Answer: I have never experienced my unit getting hot. My old Sealer (another brand) said to wait 20 seconds between sealing bags and I have just continued that practice with the Cuisinart.
Answer: No. I am able to seal the next bag right away.
Answer: Not at all. Just make sure the meat isn't to wet and it'll run all day.
Q:
Does it have two sealing modes?
Answer: It has vacuum seal and seal only...
Q:
can you attach it to the wall?
Answer: Since this is compact model it does not attach to a wall
Answer: Hi I just read the instructions online and it does not say anything about wall mounting. Is a small model and you can place it on the counter.
Answer: No, Back is solid. Also this thing worked Two Weeks, Buy a foodsaver
Answer: It does not appear to have that option. But I'm sure a handy person could figure out how to make that work.
Q:
Is the accessory port compatible with canning jar attachmnets?
Q:
Can I use other vacuum seal bags
Answer: Use FoodSaver I have found they work the best
Q:
Can I use this with 220v
Q:
I cannot get a good seal. even when i seal something simple like turkey leftovers. not a lot of liquid, but still, not a good seal. can anybody help?
Answer: You may be trying to get by with too small a bag. You want one that fills up to only 2/3 full. Then make sure the top 2-3 inches are wiped clean and dry on the inside and out. Then insert the edge to be sealed as far as you can into the heating slot. Hold the bag in place as you close to cover so the edge stays in where it belongs. Keep it closed until the light goes out. Good luck.
Answer: Try pressing all extra air out as it's vacuuming and make sure the edge of the bag is dry and clean.
Q:
Is there a built in cutter?
Answer: Hi I don't think there is a cutter built in.
Answer: No. There is a small hand held cutter inside the vacuum sealer to cut the bags. I just usually use the scissors to cut the desired length of the bags.
Q:
What is the voltage?
Answer: 110/120
Answer: 110v
Q:
how big are the rolls ? for the first time i buy it i need to buy some extra rolls ? will use it like 2 times a month something like that
Answer: Four rolls came with our vacuum sealer (two of each width) I am not sure of the lengths or widths but they seem sufficient in size
Q:
Does the vacuum hose that comes with this cuisinart vs-100 work with foodsaver canisters?
Q:
Does this unit also store the roll? If not, how do you use the bag cutter it supposedly comes with?
Answer: It doesn't store the roll and the bag cutter, in my opinion, is useless. Also the power cord is VERY short.
Answer: The rolls are stored separately. This is good because it means that the unit itself is not bulky. The little cutter is like the gadget you get to open a CD case.
Q:
My vacuum sealer will not vacuum any more?
Answer: I haven't had any problem with mine so I don't know how I can help you.
Q:
Can you marinate
Q:
How well does this work with wet foods in bags like bloody meat
Answer: I would freeze the meat first the seal works much better and you don't get a squash piece of meat.
Answer: Works great for meat!
Answer: is ok if you know how to use it the first time, i tried and spilled everything around ... it needs some practice maybe for you to be easier the first time you can put the vacuum in a little angle upso the blood will go to the bottom of the bag for the first few seconds then correct the bag position and ready done go to freezer... i use it with seasoning meats and chiken also u can play some youtube videos for more info sorry for my english
Answer: As long as it's not dripping in blood it works great. We process our own wild game, it's all vac packed.
Answer: Not well. Mine died after less than 3 months use.
Answer: Sorry, we do not know.
Q:
Is there a way to relpace the foam sealer pad?
Answer: No there isn't
Q:
Can I seal liquids without the canister?
Q:
Does it work with 110-240v?
Answer: I believe it is only set up for 110v
Answer: It's110 volt...
Q:
Can I use this vacuum sealer with metallized bags?
Answer: Have not tried any other bags but what comes with the machine and the Food Saver bags from Costco (which work).
Answer: Sorry, I do not know. I can tell you that the suction does not always work, especially if the bag is cut unevenly which leads me to believe that it is sensitive. Sorry I cannot be of anymore assistance.
Answer: I don't know. I have not tried that.
Answer: I have no idea, but I guess it would work
Product reviews of Cuisinart VS-100 Vacuum Sealer, Black
Blue Turtle : Great Value
I love this sealer. It is lightweight, so I can store it and get it out when I want to use it without any difficulty. I have read complaints about the cutter, but this is no big deal. That's what scissors are for. For ease of use and price, this machine pays for itself quickly.
Kindle Customer : Five Stars
It has done exactly what was stated and I have already used it a dozen times.
D. Mathiasen : I am taking a chance on this new (to me) item, and so far I am pleased. Fully meets my (modest) expectations.
Simple and inexpensive. Works well so far. Does not take up a lot of space. Recommended for casual home use.
bbinblack : No Complaints
I saw this product advertised on a talk show and figured it a good gift for my mentor. She expressed gratitude that I always give her gifts she can actually utilize. Nice for the price.
C. Lassiter : I am very happy with it
I have been using this appliance and so far, I am very happy with it. We are farmers and we raise and grow our own food, so this makes it easy. Since the finished item is fairly flat, it makes it easy to stack them in the freezers. It doesn't take up much space either. I researched food sealers and asked friends who I know use them and the Cuisinart was the favorite.
Kay : The first two bags I sealed which were small sausage links worked great and in seconds
I sent it back today. The first two bags I sealed which were small sausage links worked great and in seconds. The second time I tried I had some frozen food and it just didn't take the air out. I had to repeat and repeat. Today I bought a large package of chicken breasts and could not get it to vacuum all the air out. I finally took my hand held cheap one and it worked just fine. I don't know what I was doing wrong it wasn't worth the hassle. Will continue to look for one.
Tina J. Dickinson : Quality product
Great product.
Jayeff Vee : like fish. The machine can't ever put a vacuum ...
I am surprised that there are no comments about using this device to seal "wet" foods, like fish. The machine can't ever put a vacuum because of the "wetness" of the food - it sucks the moisture out & blocks the seal. My wife bought me this as a gift last year because my old Seal-a-Meal was failing. That old gadget was superior in every way to Cuisinart. I will not recommend this one - or maybe I got a lemon... ?
I've never used the Food Saver.
Landon : Stopped working after a short time
Worked great for a few months and then stopped working. It starts vacuuming and then lets all the air back into the bag before it seals.
Fred Rogers : But a good one.
Stopped working the 4th time. Buy cheap get cheap. But a good one.
Mohamad Alaa : Five Stars
really nice apliance to improve your food health
Marcio A Opromolla : It's good for dry items
It's good for dry items, but it does not REALLY work with liquids inside the bag. And does not need to be a lot of it. I tried to vacuum seal 2 slices of pineapple and the liquid went everywhere. Marinades? Forget it. I could get a better bag, but that is not really the point.
Jesse D. Rhodes : Superb product!
Got this for Christmas and we have used it every day since.
Twiz : *Update* Great vacuum sealer...
Last review:
So I have blown through one of these when it died. It was replaced by another ne under the manufacturer warranty, That one died after about 14 months (died as in the heat seal mechanism stopped working). Thanksfully I had a Squaretrade warranty...they refunded most of my money. When this worked I liked it very much...but it just wasn't up to every day usage in the kitchen at my house. Maybe for someone who doesn't vacuum seal things everyday...but even then why not get one that lasts longer. Of course I am now on a new model from a different manufacturer...which may not be any better so I won't comment on what I bought as a replacement.
Current Review:
I still like my vacuum sealer by Cuisinart but I have had a few problems with it. The lock on the right side broke after only 8 months. It still worked but you had to hold the right side down manually which was very inconvenient. It was still under the 1 year factory warranty so they sent me a new one, but for $70 I would have thought it would last longer. At the time of purchase I did buy an extended warranty from SquareTrade as well so even if it breaks after a year I will still be covered. However without an extended warranty I might not recommend this unit. With an extended warranty I would definitely recommend this unit. Its very slim, stores easily and works well (when it is working).
Old Review:
Great product. I like that its compact compared to other machines. I have had it for a few months now and use it every day with no issues and I love it.
JS : Four Stars
Easy to use and like the compact size. No problems so far!
Leonard : Four Stars
Easy to use.
Amazon Customer : great buy
it works perfectly..easy to use..it is loud but they are all loud..the benefit of this is that it is small and you can store in drawer..
GLo & Jon : Five Stars
excellent quality
A. KENNEMER : Doesn't last!
I have had this one replaced after it stopped sucking air out after 6 months. They finally sent me another one, backlog from factory they said. 6 months later, this one did the same thing!!!! Trash! Even with the warranty, we waited 3 months before we received a replacement! And it only lasted 6 months!!!
BDANSBY : WORKS GREAT
It is compact compared to others, it is light, fast, convenient. It operates the same as an older machine my kids wore out processing deer. I would definitely recommend it.
Steven Stone : Power cord is too short
It does a good job for vacuum sealing but the power cord is much too short for convienent use. Also, the bag cutter is pretty useless.
Bob : Good vacuum and perfect seals every time
I purchased this vacuum sealer to use while my VacMaster was in for repair. I have issued it for some time now and packed
quite a few items. More so than the average home owner, I'm sure. Avid fisherman and Costco slave.
The unit has performed surprisingly well. Good vacuum and perfect seals every time.
Will use this until it fails then purchase another.
Will use my $300+ dollar VacMaster as a boat anchor.

Michael Manning : works great.
This machine really works great.got it right the first time I used it.
Frank S. : Cuisanart VS 100 is Quality
The Cuisanart VS 100 preforms just as prescribed. The quality of this vacuum sealer is exceptional. I would recommend this product without reservation.
Viacheslav : Stopped working after three weeks
This vacuum sealer is a bit pricier compared to other brands I saw, but I have a Cuisinard mini-grill that outperformed fanous Weber so I decided to invest a few extra bucks hoping it will be more reliable.
1. Now I suspect being more expensive has nothing to do with the quality of the product rather than the fact it comes with two sets of pretty expensive Cuisinart bags. They say it is free for the price.
2. The seal is not as wide as they advertised - it is actually comparable to cheper models. I had to double-seal for sous-vide.
3. Easy to clean, has the vacuum protection groove - nothing gets sucked in the pump. Overall it worked fine for about three weeks, maybe a month.
It STOPPED WORKING GRADUALLY. The sound that pump makes became higher pitch, accompanied by weakening suction to the point when I relized it doesnt force the air out and barely peaks up the air in the void volume of the bag.
I don't think the seal of the vacuum camera was broken - most likely it's the pump itself.
Im sending it back.
An observer : Piece of cake. Simple, works. Fairly small and lightweight. Stashable when you're not using it.
I got mine two days ago and tried it out today. I must say, this is about the easiest to use appliance I've bought in a long time. You get rolls of "bags" with it, so it's ready to go. You set the machine on your kitchen counter and cut a "bag" from a roll. The rolls come in two sizes. Just cut the roll with a scissors, leaving a couple of inches for the vacuum seal. stick the "bag" in the machine. Press "Seal" to seal one end of the bag. Put your food in there. Stick the other end a little further inside the machine and press "Vacuum." Press it again to stop it when you feel it's sucked enough air out, or else wait for it to stop (for firm items). With delicate things (like a croissant) you need to stop it before it crushes the item. After you vacuum the air out, leave it there in the machine and press "Seal." All set. It has a nice big band of white across the top where you can write the date and contents. The bags are thick. I need to get more experience with the delicate items and not suck too much air out. I put a single flour tortilla in, and it came out fine. I put steak tips in, and it came out perfect. I put chicken livers in, and some of the juices got sucked out at the end, but it sealed the bag anyway (even though the instructions say it might not seal if there's liquid at the end of the bag). The liquid didn't get inside the machine, probably because I turned it off in time, but it has a trough that can be wiped out if necessary. I used a paper towel and wiped the liquid out of the end of the bag (past the seal), and sealed it a second time, just to make sure. So it's a pretty good deal. I put prepared beef lasagna from Whole Foods, and it came out fine. I put a muffin in one bag, but I took too much air out so I cut off the end, let the muffin expand again, and did it over again. The vacuum seal will keep taking air out until you press to stop it. It only has three buttons to keep track of. There is nothing complicated about it. The bags are nice. The device is fairly lightweight, and slim. I won't use it every day, so I can easily stash it since it's not humongous. The 4 rolls of bags that come with it will last awhile, and I can buy more on Amazon. I'm glad I found a small one, because I don't know where I'd store one of the big ones. I've bought a lot of Cuisinart devices and they've been pretty good.
Update: Like a lot of people these days, I took my unit out of the box and started using it without fully reading the instruction manual. But it's worth noting that Cuisinart has a whole section on 'Tips and Hints' (pages 6-7 of the manual). So now I see some things I could have done differently. Some of the people who gave a low rating probably didn't read these points. Short run-down:
-- If you have something with liquid (like my fresh chicken livers), freeze, or partly freeze, them first. That way the liquids won't get sucked up to the end of the bag and possibly interfere with the seal. It says you can do soups and fresh-squeezed juices this way - just freeze them first, put the frozen block in the bag. Cuisinart apparently also sells "cannisters" you can put liquid stuff in, then put the cannister in the bag. I haven't looked for them on Amazon yet.
-- The same is true of soft/delicate things like pastries. If you freeze or partly freeze them first, then they won't crush when the air gets sucked out.
-- One way to avoid getting food on the end of the bag before you seal it is to fold the plastic back on itself to keep the end of the bag clean, before dumping food in the bag. To make it easy to put stuff in the bag, you can stand the bag up in a bowl to help it hold a shape.
-- If any liquid gets into the vacuum trough, use a paper towel to remove the liquid before proceeding to the next seal. Use a moistened paper towel to clean the heat seal and trough, if necessary.
-- The "Seal" function needs 30 seconds between seals to work properly (it usually takes longer than that to cut and fill the next bag). If you don't get a proper seal, it's because you didn't give it 30 seconds to re-set, or because you got some food on the sealing strip on the unit, so wipe it off.
-- You can make an ice pack with this, or put toiletries inside when traveling, to avoid spills.

Only used it once to try it out. As I have read, it is loud, and cutting the rolls is not as convenient as a Food Saver. The vacuum quit working on our Food Saver so we decided to try the Cuisinart and I know we will like it as long as the vacuum continues to work. I do like the size of the Cuisinart--it's small and very easy to store in a drawer.
MAK : Five Stars

This machine really works great.got it right the first time I used it.
Amazon Customer : Works great

Fred Rogers : But a good one.

Mohamad Alaa : Five Stars
really nice apliance to improve your food health
G. Pitts : Way more than just food sealer
I just spent about 25 minutes taking sheet protectors and turning them into 4 pockets holders for organization(Coupons/Crafts etc). I had a newer food saver and could not use that in the same manner. You had to seal where it wanted you to! It's great to make portion packs for school lunches, sealing wine...its really versatile and can save a family a LOT of money!
Leonard : Four Stars
Easy to use.
Kindle Customer : Quick and easy typical Cuisinart
As I look around my kitchen, I see more and more Cuisinart products because they are dependable and this is no exception. Easy to operate, seals quickly and efficiently. Good value for the money and I certainly would recommend it to others. I have done chicken, spaghetti sauce and more with great results.

Caroline : Quit working after 3 months
This worked fine for about 3 months, then it quit vacuuming the air out and getting a good seal. It will still vacuum and will still seal, but not at the same time.
Sue Ayers : Four Stars
It just failed to work ..: am I still warranty ?
VeryHappy : Excellent food vacuum
This is a wonderful appliance. It is quick and easy to use and it does not been extra material to make a great bond. It does not take up a lot of space only counter I am saving money because I can buy in bulk and freeze food.
HM : Don't waste your money
It worked the first time we used it. Put it up for a while and got it out to use again it would not pull the air out of the storage bags. Now it is too late to return it. It was a waste of money.
Frank S. : Cuisanart VS 100 is Quality
The Cuisanart VS 100 preforms just as prescribed. The quality of this vacuum sealer is exceptional. I would recommend this product without reservation.
SamKool : ) is no longer strong enough to suck all the air out
after 12 months (UNDER LIGHT USAGE!) it stopped sealing because the vacuum motor(?) is no longer strong enough to suck all the air out. i'd say after about 90% of the air gets removed it fails to suck out anymore. i'm replacing it under the terms of its 3 year warranty, which is why i took the risk on this unit in the first place. we'll see how long this one lasts. if it fails to last longer than its warranty this time i'll obviously move on to a different brand.
3/09/2018: replacement unit also gave out within a year. piece of crap.
Steven Stone : Power cord is too short
It does a good job for vacuum sealing but the power cord is much too short for convienent use. Also, the bag cutter is pretty useless.
shugrl : Fabulous and easy to use
Love this item. Was apprehensive at first. Thought it would be tricky to use, but it is very simple and a time saver in the kitchen. Use it mostly for seafood and chicken to put in freezer.Single serving sizes ready for dinner. No more freezer burn! Used it on half an avocado the other day. VERY impressed ! Stayed it's original cut color without turning brown. When I make a batch of chocolate chip cookies, I freeze a few pre-formed balls, then pop a few in a bag and throw in the freezer to bake when I want. Great portion control that way.( I pre-freeze them so they don't squish when the air is extracted.0 Short learning curve there with soft or liquid items!
Cupples Peet : How many tries does it take to work?
I guess anywhere between 6 and 14. I have had it a week and have sealed 6 things. I hardly have had time to seal more since every attempt must go through at least 6 trial attempts before it finally works. I read the trouble-shooting part of the manual: it said to keep the vacuum channel clean--- I have cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. I have all but taken a magnifying glass to the thing just in case I was missing a minuscule dot of dirt. I have tried bags cut long and bags cut short-- no difference. I have placed the bag in the vacuum channel as the bag wants to curl; I have done the opposite-- no difference. When the vacuum does work, I have noticed it is slow; so, I have tried waiting and waiting only to have to snatch the still air-filled balloon of a bag out of the machine nano-seconds before it gets sealed--- something that is not supposed to happen. I don't know if I got the one lemon in the bunch or what, but I am returning mine.
Sherry : Warranty
I bought my sealer in 2015 & just recently it started not sealing correctly, it would take the liquid out but would not finish & seal. I wish it wasn’t so loud too. I sent back to Cuisinart & they replaced mine with a brand new one. Just glad since I had this problem it happened within the 3 year window for warranty.
Daschie : Five Stars
