Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Q:
I puchased this 10 cup container on 3/4/2021. Today (7/14), I was sealing the container and the top blew up . No idea how it happened?
Answer: If blew up means the hard plastic lid cracked, I had the same experience. I purchased mine on Amazon and requested a replacement unit. Instead they just refunded my purchase so I'm assuming this item has a design flaw.
Q:
Is Lid for dishwasher? How to clean the lid and rubber ring?
Answer: I put mine in the dishwasher with no issues. The rubber ring is removable if needed. These are very good containers which I use frequently with & without the vacumn.
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: The directions that come with the container says that you can use the top shelf of your dishwasher but recommend washing it by hand. I have always washed my by hand so the lettering won't wear off. Love mine, thinking of buying a second one.
Answer: I always hand wash mine as I don't want it to shrink or bend in the dishwasher and possibly lose suction/seal.
Answer: Its top shelf safe, but we hand wash it. Pop the gasket out with a toothpick and your good to go

Is this big enough for 3 good sized steaks for marinating?
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: I use this for marinating jerky. I can fit comfortably 2.5lbs. So I think three 10 ounce cuts would be good. Four may be too much.
Answer: Plenty of room for marinating 3 good sized steaks (I did NY Strips).
Answer: totally depends on the cut of the steaks. If you have boneless ribeye 2 would be best. If they are filet mignon then 3 to 4 would work
Answer: Yes, you can fit three steaks in the marinater
Q:
Will this work with v3230 ???
Answer: Hello, this is Karolina from FoodSaver!
Answer: Yes. All Foodsaver machines have ability to work with bags and containers. If you don’t have the hose attachment, call Foodsaver’s and buy directly from them
Answer: If you have the port for the little tubing with the ends it will work . I'm sure it will work just fine tge ends of the tube g
Answer: We have the v3170.
Q:
Does this work with the built in sealers on models like the VS3150?
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: It should. It works with any model that has the vacuum hose attachment. Make sure to press down tightly. Depending on the amount of contents determines how fast it seals
Answer: I can’t relate to the model numbers but it DOES work with my Foodsaver, which has the retractable suction tube used on containers. I hesitated for a long time because I didn’t think they answered that very well in their advertising. I really like these new containers.
Answer: check with foodsaver, 800#, according to them, all machines work, though a port for hose to use as vacuum
Answer: I do not know for sure if this will works with your machine, however it looks like it will
Answer: yes it worked with mine.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Can I put this container in the freezer ?
Answer: Hello, this is Mateusz from FoodSaver!
Q:
What's the difference in marinating in this $25 container or just vacuuming in a bag with marinade?
Answer: Hi, this is Karolina from FoodSaver care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver containers. In our container you can marinate your food in minutes instead of hours. It saves time in a kitchen. Also FoodSaver containers are designed with premium Tritan material for extreme durability, so they won't crack or stain. You can enjoy using it for a long time.
Answer: Hello, this is Mateusz from FoodSaver!
Q:
after sealing the container with hand held maching the green indicator collapesing; after few hours it is poping up; is this means seal is not there?
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: If you can open container its not sealed never paid much attention to the little green thing . But if vacuum is holding you'll not be able to open the top until you turn the knob on top to release the vacc.
Answer: If the button is up, you have lost the vacuum.
Answer: Yes, sounds like either the valve isn't turned far enough to lock it, the lid is not on completely tight, or you may have a defective unit.
Q:
Can you use liquid marinades with this container? Is there some kind of seal that prevents the liquid from being sucked up in the tube of the machine?
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: This appliance works very well for what it does and quickly to. I use it primarily for liquid marinades. Seems to be designed for that purpose. My food Saver is set up with an attached sealer that keeps it from backing up into the machine. Verify satisfied with purchase
Answer: That’s honestly what I use the container for. A lot of times I use it to quickly marinate jerky and other items. I’ve never had the marinade get sucked up into the machine. There must be some sort of two way valve or a ball valve or something. But you shouldn’t have any issues with it at all
Answer: The valve is at the top of the lid. Unless you completely fill the container, you won't get liquid in the tube
Answer: If you don't overfill. I marinate all my red meat and have never had a problem of liquid being ducked into the vacuum sealer
Answer: yes you can. just fill liquid to cover your meat and it should not be drawn into vac. unit
Q:
In marinate mode, the dimple popped back up as soon as I unplug the sealer. Is that how it is supposed to be?
Answer: No, the container is supposed to hold a vacuum seal. Either the knob was not turned to the correct setting, the seal isn't sitting correctly or the unit is defective.
Q:
Can this be used with other vacuum sealing systems or does it have to be foodsaver? Is like to marinade with my existing system and this container.
Answer: I'm not 100% sure it'll work with other ceiling systems but there's a good chance it will because it came with an adapter the ceiling area on the container is oval did the adapter is oval looks like it has a area for a hose on the adapter
Q:
Are there produce trays for these?
Answer: I don’t think so but not sure as I haven’t looked for that accessory.
Q:
Hi, will this work with a foodsaver v2470? if not where can i get the right attachment? i'm looking for something to store lettuce.
Answer: If it has a vacuum port on it it will work my old one similar to v2470 had a port and came with the hose with the two ends . Oval shaped end one was in port other had a tip to place in containers top
Answer: Yes. You only need a hose which attaches to the machine and the other side goes into the canister container. My problem is two of these containers that you want to purchase, the lids cracked, and Spoiled food contents, because the black plastic exploded inside the container and mixed with the food.so that’s gonna be an issue, I think there’s a manufacture defect. They refunded me the money but I had to use some of the older containers that I bought years ago. You May search out and find them on eBay
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: It will work, you just need the hose and attachment that should have come with your unit.
Q:
I have a food saver model v2244 with accessory port and hose, do i need anything else to hook up to foodsaver 2129973?
Answer: We purchased the 10 cup container and our v4400 Food Saver machine. The hose and attachment that came with the machine was all that was needed to marinate our meat. We have vacuumed sealed several different canning jars also. Works absolutely wonderfully.
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Q:
Why doesn’t the add ever say how many containers are included? Why do all your photos show four? Why does your approach seen so shady and deceptive?
Answer: It is only (1) Container this one is a Marinater not just like a Storage Container
Q:
Will this work with the older V3880 Foodsaver, with the simple retractable hose, not the hand-held sealer accesory attachment?
Answer: Dear Neil, this is Mateusz from FoodSaver Consumer Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FOODSAVER 2129973. It's compatible only with hand-held sealer accessory attachment.
Answer: Hello, this is Sandra from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for your interest in FoodSaver products! Yes, these should work just fine with the V3880. Have a great day.
Answer: Hello, this is Sandra from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for your interest in FoodSaver products! Yes, these should work just fine with the V3880. Have a great day.
Answer: Yes it should, there is a small hole on top of the container lid where you should be able to insert the end of your hose. I have the attachment with my model however I have the option to remove and just use the small tube end. I just tested and it worked great.
Answer: I wanted to thank Randy Wilburn for his answer. A picture with a hose coming out the top and into a Foodsaver unit would explain what I spend 20 minutes looking for.
Answer: Yes.
Q:
Are these containers free of BPA?
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: Hello, this is Klaudia from FoodSaver!
Answer: Right from there website. Yes, the FoodSaver Fresh Containers are BPA Free. ... None of our FoodSaver® containers contain Bisphenol A. They are made of Tritan material. Bags/rolls are BPA free too. Hope that helps
Answer: According to the Foodsaver web site this container is PBA free.
Answer: Yes they are BPA Free
Q:
Would I be able to use this to vacuum seal & store soups or cheese sauce?
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: It’ll work for soups and sauces, but the container is flat and a bit bulky. A cylinder-shaped container, if it exists, might work better.
Answer: It sure seems like it! P.S it’s a very heavy duty plastic, I love it! I use it to marinade meats, you vacuum the air out with the marinade on them and it helps to penetrate the pores.
Answer: No, I haven't tried it for that. Possibly in the fall, I will try.
Q:
Will this work with my food savor oval vac.adsptor like i use on sealer bags and vac containers with the oval grey rubber gasket on the top
Answer: Hi, this is Marcin from Foodsaver care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FOODSAVER 2129973 is compatible with our FoodSaver® Fresh Container Adapter Model#: 186791000000.
Answer: Yes the 2129 973 works with the FoodSaver
Answer: Hello, this is Sandra from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for your interest in FoodSaver products! Yes, it will be compatible. Have a great day.
Answer: Hello, this is Sandra from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for your interest in FoodSaver products! Yes, it will be compatible. Have a great day.
Q:
Will this work with Foodsaver model FM3900?
Answer: I am not familiar with foodsaver model fm3900 but if it has a tube that can connect to other foodsavers it should work. Most foodsaversd I have seen have a tub that will connect the foodsaver to a container that has a hole in the top.
Answer: Hello, this is Sandra from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our products. The containers are compatible with all FoodSaver vacuum sealer systems. Have a great day!
Q:
So the directions say to use the marinate button to marinate. my fm2000 doesnt have a marinate button. how do i use this with the fm2000?
Answer: Marinate and vacuum are the same. It’s smoke and mirrors. I’ve used this for years when you store food in the vacuum mode, it automatically mixes and marinates. So you don’t need a marinate button it’s really BS. I’ve use these for years, so I know what I’m talking about
Q:
I am sorry for the basic question. How do you use the marinade option with the handheld vacuum sea? I turned the button to marinade placed the handhel
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: Did you pop off the bottom of the handheld? Then you will have access to the stem to stick in the port.
Q:
Is it possible to just buy the lid to this container? My other lid broke the bottom is still good so I'd like to just get the lid
Answer: Hello, this is Karolina from FoodSaver!
Answer: No it is not. However, you should contact Food Saver directly. I have had 2 containers just explode on me, where only the lid was damaged. They have always had excellent customer service and they may send you an new one and if you still have it they may ask you to send the damaged on back to inspect it. It may help in finding out why it broke in the first place.
Q:
actual measurements?
Answer: Actual measured at rim. 10.25" x 7.25"
Answer: Hi, this is Gosia from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver Preserve & Marinate Vacuum Containers. Dimensions of the product are 12.5 x 9 x 5.25 inches.
Q:
Will this work with the older model Vac 1050? I have the connecting hose.
Answer: Yes worked fine the container has the hole that hose end sticks into or the oval adaptor that connects to the same vac. Hose end via that little nipple. But yes works fine. I'm ordering another one myself
Answer: Hello, this is Zuzanna from FoodSaver!
Answer: Yes it will, just plug the 2 together with your tub and seal as you would before.
Product reviews of FoodSaver 2129973 Preserve & Marinate 10 Cup Vacuum Seal -Container for Quick Marinating or Freezer and Pantry Storage, Clear
Amazon Customer : Weeknight Wonder
A must for food saver owners. Perfect for a quick weeknight marinade for a house of four!
Robert N. Caracciolo : Danger!
I set this on marinade, there was a large bang and this is what I found. it imploded and left particles in my food. It took a 20 minute phone call and I had email a photo of their crappy product while I was on the line JUST to find out they would get back to me in 24 hours to get it replaced!! Stay away from Foodsaver, Newell and their products.WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
William : Perfect container.
Great size for marinating meats, and for storing my vegetables in a vacuum.
Averyr : A bit of buyers remorse price point was a little high for my personal perceived value
Not sure if this was a great purchase or not. I thought the price point was a little high and now that I have it I’m not real sure how it well it works. I use it for marinating ground turkey and again, it seems to do the job but I’m not 100% sure it was really needed.
William L. Crow : Imploded after 1 Month of Light Use!
After only a month of light use this container imploded while sealing it. Very dangerous, shards of plastic were blow everywhere. I would not buy again or recommend to any one else to buy.
M S Venable : Buyer beware
The product broke (cracked) the first time we tried to use it. We asked for a replacement but they just gave us a refund. Makes me think they knew they had a flawed product.
Imploded : 10 cup Marinade Container imploded
This is the 2nd 10 cup Marinade Container that has imploded with a very loud bang. The lid of the container was destroyed. The FoodSaverV440 vacuum process has always worked well until I tried this container. The 2nd container was a replacement for the first one that failed the same way. The Amazon return date passed last week. I like the concept of vacuum sealing but this container has made me very nervous to try this again.
Dan : Lid cracked while under vacuum.
I had not used this one yet and while applying vacuum I heard a crack and 2 seconds later it imploded. After a quick shower and change of under ware I laughed about it. Disappointing though. for a plastic item it felt sturdy. You can see that the under side has gussets for strength. I think this is a material failure as I see I'm not the only one that this happed to.

The Marinator : Company Stood Behind Warranty
Ours exploded when releasing vacuum using the marinade option. This container was 8 months old, was used 1-2 times a week and hand washed when finished. Reached out to company via website and they sent me a new unit with no hassle, just asked to send the defective one back. I'm going to try decompressing the unit from the vacuum sealer instead of pulling out the hose under vacuum. Isn't specified in manual either way, but seems safer when I thought about it.
Narcyzse Wylyé : A must buy especially if you don't want to waste food.
I recommend it period...
BGHMA : Nice size and can be used for different things.
Difference sizes would be nice - I only saw one size.
Bill : Better and better!
I have owned a Foodsaver since they first came out. Before Foodsaver I had a rival seal a meal. Amazing the progress. This latest FS is great although I have to admit it pissed me off at first. So different. Once I figured it out it is great!!will always have one. Another thing is I live alone and you just can’t cook for just one so I use it every day.
BILL H : Extremely well made
Extremely well made product. Only downfall for those of us with limited counter space is that you have to pull the foodsaver unit out to vacuum the container every time you open it.
Travis : Description is deceiving
If you want to spend 50 bucks for a single container then this product is for you! Despite the pictures and plural references in the description you only get one piece.
Adrian C Farris : The best marinator
This is by far the best way to marinate deep into the .eat and or vegetables. Will buy a second to marinate and flavor more food products
Terry : Great Idea
I got this for my wife and she seem to like it. It seems a little costly so we got only one to see how much we use it. The price seems to be the same every where.
Bedivere Jones : Absolute garbage
Don't waste your money! I used it 5 times before the seal mechanism stopped working. Now I have a way too expensive, lousy storage container that I could have bought for 5 bucks. I hope foodsaver isn't going to these models because they are terrible
william mikes : everything
everything
Kristina S. : Fractured, seal split and broke into several pieces. Unfortunately, it was a week past return date.
The bowl sealed. Later, came back to the bowl and it split into several pieces. Poor value.
Rebecca L. Young : Doesn’t stay sealed.
The container is wonderful. The seal doesn’t hold even a day. Happy
Shelby Myers : Bigger than I thought
Bought this for my mother in law, and she loved it! You can fit a good amount of food in it and still have plenty of room
RaeRae : Perfect size for marinating chicken and easy to clean!
This is the perfect marinating dish. Easy to clean and the 10 cup if the perfect size for 4-6 chicken breasts. Will add more to our collection.
Joseph F. : Graat product, short life span
These new containers vacum fast and really work. Big upgrade over the original. But in a short 4-6 months and a large investment in ten containers, i already have several malfunctioning. Haven't contacted company yet, they stopped replacing my forst generation containers, as they fell to tge wayside iver two reay period. Thet cut ne off. Ive spent well iver $1,000.00 on this system. I need it, but it fails and so is this second generation of lids. Im afraid to even ask for repkacments.
Gordon Miller : Great
Great product and reasonable price
Narcyzse Wylyé : A must buy especially if you don't want to waste food.
I recommend it period...
Gene h : Good product
It is a good product there have been some complaints... I have an easy fix a few people mentioned that it is losing suction and it does which I had in the same problem if you unscrew the top knob all the way to the left like you're screwing it off clean it with a paper towel and put the knob back on it should work I only use my bowl seven times and it started losing suction don't be afraid you're not going to break it twist it off like you're twisting anything else off wipe it clean the seal put it back on and it has been working fine for me somehow it comes a little loose and I was not getting any suction once the machine stopped it will let all the air out... Just twist that green knob all the way off clean it and tighten it back on and everything has been working fine also i forget to mention take off the knob and wash it food does get stuck in there wich breaks the seal..... After that it should be good as new.
Lauren Butterworth : Game changer!
We love this marinade container!
Charlene Trosper : Food lasts so much longer in the fridge!
The photo shows the core of a head of lettuce after 13 days. ???? still crunchy with minimal browning around the edges. ** For those worrying about not being able to release the vacuum seal, fret not! When you turn knob counter clockwise towards ‘marinate’ mode, go further. You will feel the click on marinade, just continue and you will hear the air escaping like a flat tire. I discovered this purely by accident at the frustration of not having the strength to remove the lid. So happy with this one, going to order more in various sizes.
John Vittner : A little pricey but great product
Love the container. No staining and keeps our leftovers fresh for days.
Sonia : DO NOT PURCHASE!!!
DO NOT PURCHASE... the lid cracked in just a couple of weeks. Junk!
CM : Great product!
I do not put this product in the dishwasher just for my personal opinion. I love this product for marinating. It is my go to when I am in a hurry.
Dan the man : Built well and feels solid
I got this container since my mom needed something to store romaine lettuce and since storing them in a bag doesn't work too well I decided to get her this. The container is built well and is easy to vent when releasing the vacuum. The one this I will note for anyone using this is it does not fit on the FoodSaver FM1100. The container is just too wide so the vacuum part doesn't line up with the valve. This is fine for us since we also have another vacuum sealer with an accessory hose attachment
sue : Saves money
I use this for my vegetables. It keeps my salad fixings longer than just putting them in a plastic container or bag. Vacuum canister has saved us money. It’s the only way to go. I am going to buy more.
pxreserved : The cover imploded three months after purchase
My wife was trying to vacuum the container for some veggies and it just imploded. The cover was completely damaged without any signs. Not recommend. I want my money back!
Rennis : Good value
Great product for price
diggdug : Do not buy
While using to marinade right after I received it, it imploded. It's not worth the plastic its made of, felt flimsy but figured since it was a food saver marinator it would hold up. Nope!
Travis : Description is deceiving
If you want to spend 50 bucks for a single container then this product is for you! Despite the pictures and plural references in the description you only get one piece.
R. Legato : old style is better.
The lid is much more flexible than the older version. The product works, but it's easy to overfill to the point that the lid is sucked down to the point that it contacts the food.
Gordon Miller : Great
Great product and reasonable price
Caz : A bit expensive
They seem very good. Great size
John : Not worth the money
Used it about 4 times and now it won’t stay air tight. Expensive piece of Tupperware. Of course now we’re past the return window.
Johanna : Worth the money!
The quality of these FoodSaver Preserve & Marinate containers are outstanding. I now have four different sizes and wish I could afford more of them. The dial on top lets you choose either Preserve (vacuum airtight) or Marinade (which automatically goes through a marinating cycle). Yes, they ARE expensive but they do more than just suck the air out of a container, they're awesome. I highly recommend.
Florence : Sturdy and handsome
It does what it's supposed to but the bowls don't stack so end up taking a lot of room to store. The lids are not dishwasher safe and base can be washed in upper rack only. They're hard to find in smaller sizes and are more expensive than other Airtight products.
E. merrill : Ok....
I wanted to be able to quick marinate food. I tried it a few times & I don't think the flavor of the food was hugely impacted..... maybe a little bit....... It is solidly made, though...... I will probably try to use it more as a food storage option. I think it's a little expensive, actually. Thus a couple of stars taken off. 1 for price, one for not offering really great quick marinade flavor impact.

Roger : Puts flavor into meat not on it
Best damn food container ive ever brought will be more hopw to find deeper or taller one. Marinade steaks in a vacuum makes a world of difference. Rubbed a cut in half rack of pork ribs in vacuum set out over night yo open meat pores fired up smoker next day ... good. Now to find on for a butt or shoulder..

charles duffy : works like a champ
quick and effortless
Deanna : Love the size
We're new to Food Saver, and this is the largest container I've found. I love it. The seal works great, it holds plenty of food. The shape is really nice for the fridge (the 5 cup container is taller than this one). Love how thick these containers are and how easy to clean. We've marinated foods in these and haven't had any staining at all.
