Answer: If blew up means the hard plastic lid cracked, I had the same experience. I purchased mine on Amazon and requested a replacement unit. Instead they just refunded my purchase so I'm assuming this item has a design flaw.

Answer: This appliance works very well for what it does and quickly to. I use it primarily for liquid marinades. Seems to be designed for that purpose. My food Saver is set up with an attached sealer that keeps it from backing up into the machine. Verify satisfied with purchase
Answer: That’s honestly what I use the container for. A lot of times I use it to quickly marinate jerky and other items. I’ve never had the marinade get sucked up into the machine. There must be some sort of two way valve or a ball valve or something. But you shouldn’t have any issues with it at all

My problem is two of these containers that you want to purchase, the lids cracked, and Spoiled food contents, because the black plastic exploded inside the container and mixed with the food.so that’s gonna be an issue, I think there’s a manufacture defect. They refunded me the money but I had to use some of the older containers that I bought years ago. You May search out and find them on eBay

Answer: Yes it should, there is a small hole on top of the container lid where you should be able to insert the end of your hose. I have the attachment with my model however I have the option to remove and just use the small tube end. I just tested and it worked great.

Answer: Marinate and vacuum are the same. It’s smoke and mirrors. I’ve used this for years when you store food in the vacuum mode, it automatically mixes and marinates. So you don’t need a marinate button it’s really BS. I’ve use these for years, so I know what I’m talking about

Answer: No it is not. However, you should contact Food Saver directly. I have had 2 containers just explode on me, where only the lid was damaged. They have always had excellent customer service and they may send you an new one and if you still have it they may ask you to send the damaged on back to inspect it. It may help in finding out why it broke in the first place.

We bought this to do marinating under vacuum pressure with our vacuum sealer. This whole thing is MEH. Nothing great about it. It’s pretty big. The lid fits. Technically the vacuum seal works. What I didn’t realize is that you must leave the container connected to the running sealer so it can maintain the vacuum. So not truly handy. The seal of the container leaks, therefore it must remain connected so the air can be removed when the air increases. After the recommended amount of time for chicken (15 minutes or so), the flavor was similar to what you would expect if you threw the meat into a container with the marinade for 15 minutes…almost no noticeable favor influence. I can’t quite figure a way to make this purchase worthwhile. Might have to play with it more.

I had not used this one yet and while applying vacuum I heard a crack and 2 seconds later it imploded. After a quick shower and change of under ware I laughed about it. Disappointing though. for a plastic item it felt sturdy. You can see that the under side has gussets for strength. I think this is a material failure as I see I'm not the only one that this happed to.

Imploded : 10 cup Marinade Container imploded
This is the 2nd 10 cup Marinade Container that has imploded with a very loud bang. The lid of the container was destroyed. The FoodSaverV440 vacuum process has always worked well until I tried this container. The 2nd container was a replacement for the first one that failed the same way. The Amazon return date passed last week. I like the concept of vacuum sealing but this container has made me very nervous to try this again.

The lid CRACKS> This is the third one that has cracked on me. Unfortunately, it leaves bits of black plastic in the food, forcing me to throw the food out. I've used their products for years, so I'm very familiar with their products. My food was thrown out due to plastic pieces. As a plus, customer service were 100% professional, and did refund my purchase. PLEASE IMPROVE YOUR PRODUCTS, I'll miss not having this container!

I have owned a Foodsaver since they first came out. Before Foodsaver I had a rival seal a meal. Amazing the progress. This latest FS is great although I have to admit it pissed me off at first. So different. Once I figured it out it is great!!will always have one. Another thing is I live alone and you just can’t cook for just one so I use it every day.

Don't waste your money! I used it 5 times before the seal mechanism stopped working. Now I have a way too expensive, lousy storage container that I could have bought for 5 bucks. I hope foodsaver isn't going to these models because they are terrible

Not sure if this was a great purchase or not. I thought the price point was a little high and now that I have it I’m not real sure how it well it works. I use it for marinating ground turkey and again, it seems to do the job but I’m not 100% sure it was really needed.

This Foodsaver accessory container can seal and store more than what I bought it for but I wanted a container to marinade shish kabobs and it worked great. Husband said enjoyed the flavor it imparted in such a short time. No problems using.

The Marinator : Company Stood Behind Warranty
Ours exploded when releasing vacuum using the marinade option. This container was 8 months old, was used 1-2 times a week and hand washed when finished. Reached out to company via website and they sent me a new unit with no hassle, just asked to send the defective one back. I'm going to try decompressing the unit from the vacuum sealer instead of pulling out the hose under vacuum. Isn't specified in manual either way, but seems safer when I thought about it.

Al segundo mes de uso esporádico, la cubierta de plástico del contenedor se partió en dos. He adquirido los productos food saver por los últimos quince años y desde hace aprox 5 años la calidad de la casi totalidad de sus productos se ha venido en picada. El sellador al vacío que adquiri con anteriorioridad al actual, me duro escasos dos años. Imposible recomendar esta marca de productos.

Not sure what happened, I hand washed this and took extra care to be gentle with it. I used a food saver vacuum sealer for it, and this was probably the 7th time I sealed it. Now it's just a broken shard of plastic.

Works great for us with our food saver. I like to put lettuce in it to try to preserve longer in the fridge. Works great not sure what the other bad reviews were talking about
