Where does the grease go? How easy is it to clean up?
Answer: There is an angled pan under the bottom shelf that diverts the grease into the little grease bucket that hangs under the grill. If you line that pan with foil, no cleanup is necessary. But if you decide you just have to clean it, the whole grease "system" is easy to take apart and clean.

How does this grill release the smoke?
Answer: The smoke comes out along the hinge edge of the insulated lid. No smoke stack necessary. I have really enjoyed using this grill/smoker. Cooked a big fillet of salmon today and it was great. I highly recommend this pellet grill.
Answer: When the lid is closed there's a gap at the top of the grill. I thought it may need a chimney but no need. It works good the way it is.

How does this system prevent over heating without releasing smoke?
Answer: First, it is thermostatically controlled, so once it reaches the temp you set, the auger slows down to hold the temp there (within 10 degrees or so.) Second, it does release the smoke along the hinge edge of the lid. The heavy lid is insulated with a gasket along the sides and bottom. But the back/top/hinge edge does not have the gasket, so the smoke escapes there. No smoke stack necessary, and I think the smoke stays in the grill longer for better flavor. Great pellet grill and I recommend it.

Answer: No, about 500 degrees is all you're going to get.

I have a friend that has traeger grill and since then I always wanted one but did not want to spend $1500. This one was 399 but with $40 off coupon I got a very good deal.
I was skeptical but wanted to give it a shot and I am glad I did.
1. Good smoke - this thing produces good amount of smoke and It is on par with more expensive pellet grill
2.temperature control - it holds the temp consistent everytime you open the door the temp drops but it gets back quickly
3. Insulated - the entire top including the door is insulated. Some $1000 pellet grill does not include this and insulation is extra.
4. Price - very reasonably priced quality grill. I have used 5 times already each time ran 6 to 7 hours the grill has been very reliable.

This grill is great. Cook's faster than my old smoker. Even lid has double wall to hold in heat. I've only used it a couple times so far it's much more convenient.
