Questions about Yescom 12" 300mm Impulse Manual Hand Sealer Heat Sealing Machine Poly Tubing Plastic Bag
Q:
Will this seal a 7 mill. mylar bag?
Answer: Hi again, I called that same supplier and asked about the 7 mill. mylar bag, she said the thickest it would seal in mylar would be a 6 mill. Hope that helps.
Answer: Hi again, I got in touch with one of the supply companies I use for bags, boxes, etc. I asked them if the impulse sealers would seal a mylar bag, they checked their specs on their computer for the impulse sealers and said yes, it would seal a mylar bag. I hope that helps, have a great day.
Answer: Hi there, I know it will seal a plastic bag. I'm not sure about a mylar..... don't know what mylar is.
Answer: Yes it will, I was directed from You Tube, they were using this sealer on their balloons
Answer: No problem.... glad to have been some help, you're very welcome.
Q:
WIll it seal cheap flip top sandwich bags (not the ziplock kind)?
Answer: Yes it will, but only if you are very careful. You'll have to experiment to get it just right because it's very hot and made for more rugged bags. I've used impulse sealers for many years, and I've done it. If you put a sandwich bag in it on the lowest setting and only hold it down for a split second, it will seal. I will also probably cut off the bag at the seal. For this type of bag it's more like cutting by melting, and sealing at the same time. Again, it can be done, but it takes practice, and it is NOT what the sealer is made for (no setting for it).
Answer: It should, I recommend you turn it down real low to start with and experiment to find the best temp to use.
Answer: No it is for cellophane
Q:
Does the handle stay in the upright position when not in use?
Answer: Hi Lisa.... yes it does, when it is not in use it looks exactly like the photo is pictured.
Answer: Yes.
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes it does
Answer: Yes it does.
Q:
Can a wider (5mm) heat strip used in place of the 2mm?
Answer: Not sure. But keep in mind, the sealer was designed to use the smaller one. A wider strip would require more to heat it up. Be mindful of the mechanical / electrical parts getting too hot. It may be fine with cool down periods or it may fry it. Check the manufacturer would be my guess
Q:
Can this seal a .115 foil lined kraft paper coffee bag?
Q:
I can used 220volts
Answer: i would not recommend it only use 120 volts
Q:
serves to seal cellophane bags?

Answer: Yes as I use it for the ones I put my bath bombs in. :)
Answer: Yes
Answer: Yes
Q:
If i was making my own bubble mailers out of bubble wrap world this seal the edges
Answer: Yes, it would work great on the plastic part of the bubble mailer.
Answer: Probably, if you flatten the bubbles in the area where it is being sealed.
Answer: It probably would but mine broke (quit heating) after about 2 weeks & the seller would not replace it.
Answer: yes.
Q:
Will this seal plastic suppository mold?
Q:
We plug the Ac Cord into socket and the light is still same,it need to be light off or on?
Answer: Off - once you put the plastic it lights on and is ready
Answer: From what little I used it, then only time I noticed the light on was when I was sealing the bag and then it goes back off.
Answer: When the unit is working properly, the light should turn on after you plug it in.
Answer: The light is only on when the heating element is working. Control it with the knob for how long it heats.
Answer: on when sealing, (handle down), off when at rest
Q:
The search results say there is a $17 version?
Q:
Will this seal a foil balloon? (For those balloons without a valve)
Answer: Yes. This product is designed to seal foil balloons as well as other types of plastic bags. The adjustable temperature makes this appropriate for a very wide range of product thicknesses and materials.
Answer: I would say yes because it does seal chip bags but I don't think it's seal is wide enough to hold the air pressure of a balloon. The seal is only a wire thickness.
Answer: I think so but I have not sealed one. I have sealed similar material used for wrapping tea bags etc.

The unit has settings 1-8, What setting should be used to seal 4.3 mil mylar bags?
Answer: You could try 2-3 setting to seal 4.3 mil mylar bags.
Answer: Try 3-4. Be forewarned...mine quit working after about 4 times and company didn't make it right. Very disappointing.
Answer: half way and press down for 3 seconds..... should do it
Answer: it works very well i would recommend it for anyone to buy
Q:
can it seal an ice pop?
Answer: Short answer is no. I can't imagine it being used that way. The pop would have to be already frozen and I expect there would be a lot of mess. Add the danger of melting liquid near a live wire which is used to seal the package and you're lucky to survive the short or possibly fire. It most certainly would not meet FDA requirements.

Product reviews of Yescom 12" 300mm Impulse Manual Hand Sealer Heat Sealing Machine Poly Tubing Plastic Bag
Starzie : Works great!
Works as expected. If I could change anything I would get one with a built in cutter.
Angelina : Junk, Doesn't work, instructions say to open the back and check the wires as if we are technicians
I didn't sign up to fix your product, if you include instructions to fix your product as if we are some kind of technicians then why not just focus on making a good quality product so customers like me don't have to open the product risking to get electrical shocked by trying to fix your junk product wires, very bad.. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Brenda Alfery : Love this one
I love this sealer, my old one was about 25 years and just stopped working so this one was a godsend, I make soap and sealing the warped bars is a breeze with this new sealer
BC214 : Came Broken
This is so cheap & arrived broken with NO PADDING in box
snedswife : Best sealer
I’ve used these in dentistry for years. Decided to get one for my business. Works like a charm
Cliente de Amazon : Muy mal producto
Pesimo!! No sirvio, no prendio, la caja venia lastimada, el producto por dentro tenia algo roto y suelto, muy mal.
Dave : Quick and Convenient sealer.
I used to use chip-clips and zip-lock bags. Now I just seal the original bag. It is quick and simple to use. I keep the heat setting on a high setting and wait a few seconds after it seals to let it cool so I don't have to vary the setting for different types of bags, thin, thick, mylar, etc. I am glad I purchased it. I am using it more frequently than I expected.
sherri d : Plugged heat gun in same outlet and it worked fine so not electric issue or blown braker
Mine worked for about 4 days Light clicked off while the arm was up and that was all there was. Plugged heat gun in same outlet and it worked fine so not electric issue or blown braker. Just really cheap item. For 20 bucks I do expect more then 4 days of use.
Kelsie Eells : Works great, breaks easily
When I first got this in the beginning of December, it worked fantastically! And it still does work great, but unfortunately when I replaced the heating strip the entire screw head broke off of one of the screws, meaning I will no longer be able to replace the heating strip! Maybe I'll get another 2 months of use out of it, but 4 months of use just isn't enough to really support buying this product! I hope that mine is a 1 time, freak accident, because I really do like this heat sealer and would have likely replaced it with the same model if it hadn't broken the first time I tried to replace the heat strip!
Cheri Oberholtzer : Super Useful
My favorite new gadget. Keeps all my cookies fresh for shipping. Super easy to use and a great price.
Simone : Come Ready!
This came ready to use. It's an Impulse Brand and for the money about the cheapest I have seen. Very happy with it.
Randy : Didn't work, but I fixed it
It looks like the ones with a metal base... but it is plastic. You have to be careful to keep the handle aligned with the heating element, because the pivot point is too loose to maintain proper alignment. It didn't work when received, but I was able to locate then problem (a pin was not fully inserted into the electrical connector internally) and fix it myself. Their quality control should have caught that! Other than that, it works fine.
Arlena Flanders : Great Product
I love it. Gonna get a next one as a spare. I use it to seal my handmade soaps.
sleitch : Broken won’t turn on.
Bought this in March of 2020, but with the coronavirus I’m an essential worker, with no time to use this until now at the end of May three months later, to come find out it’s broken, bottom of device is is bent out and parts inside are rattling, so of course it won’t turn on.. it looks like a returned item styrofoam inside box was broken, will not buy from them again.. this is the second one I’ve gotten one that hasn’t worked..
David Indorf : but the heating element can easily slip off its terminal
it works quickly, but the heating element can easily slip off its terminal, requiring you to take off the panel to put it back on. OTHER than that it's fine....so far
Priscilla : A good deal
Great for the price. I ordered this to package my bath salts and it did the job just fine! Heats up super fast, no downtime at all. Swap where finger is

Bert : Works perfectly
I've used this to seal some Mylar bags that are advertised as 4mil, so I can confirm that it seals to that, at least.
The directions aren't exactly clear, you can read them for yourself, so I kind of just was winging it on what setting to put it at. I settled on about 3.5 because I figured I could always get incrementally hotter if the Mylar wasn't properly sealing. 3.5 seemed to work just fine, I don't think I'll need to go much hotter.
Anyway, I plugged in the unit, turned the dial to my desired setting and I assumed that the light would turn on, it did not. I thought I'd gotten a dud. I tried reading the poorly written directions and couldn't quite gather what was supposed to be happening so I figured I'd just try it out. As it turns out, the light turns on when you close the arm with something there. Howbowdat?
That picture is of one of the small Mylar bags, 3inx6in, I sealed. You can kind of see the line left by the heating element at the top.
I recently sealed approximately 20 of these bags in a session and the sealer performed very well. No complaints. I also wasn't trying to push this thing to the limit, so there's that.
Matthew F. Terrell : Comes With Instructions On How to Rewire It If It's Broken
I wish I could give this product negative stars. It did not work. It did not turn on. It did not heat up.
What came with it was a slip of paper on how to rewire the machine if it doesn't work. It was written in nonsensical poorly-translated English, and the images included in the diagrams didn't match up to the wiring of the actual product.
What a waste!
Bestemor Carel : A fantastic machine, easy to use
A fantastic machine, easy to use, instant sealing. Using a heat seal bag with a good oxygen barrier, it has extended the life of my cookies. Love, love, love it!
Josh D. : 5 star at a glance, but after using its very poor quality.
EDITED: Perfect for what I needed it for. No need to buy anything bigger when you can just make several seals. *** I had to edit this post from a 5 star to a 1 star. After sealing 20 packages, the heating element lost its ability to seal well and burned through the white protective covering. Now I was curious if it was user error. so I serviced the heating element and white cover. this unit just has tiny screws right through the plastic body which can strip easily. after finding out the new strip brought the unit up to par again I decided to return the item. It is not worth the hassle of only 20 seals to have to service it. I would not recommend this unless you will use it for only a few items.
Shopping for gifts : Easy to use and works great!
Works great and really easy to use.
Lurchie : It seals very well. It doesn't trim the plastic unless it's very thin (clingwrap)
I purchased this to make my own custom sized zip-top bags. So far I've tried it on a variety of different plastics (chip bags, cello, zip top bags, and cling wrap.) So far it satisfactorily seals everything, but doesn't trim the plastic unless it's really thin. So far the only thing that trims without tearing is clingwrap.
Amazon Customer : Good
Good
Amazon Customer : Does Not Work, Received Broken
VERY DISAPPOINTED. Box was in good condition when I received it. As I was removing sealer from box, I heard a rattling noise and felt something moving side to side from it. I noticed the bottom white plate was popping out and I could see a cube shaped part loose. That is what was rattling around in there. I turned on sealer, set the temp and attempted to seal a bag and to no surprise it does not work. EXTREMELY disappointed. I needed to seal 200 cookies by the 3rd, I received this sealer on the 1st.
TedEjr : THIS VENDOR IS SELLING A KNOCK OFF
A Chinese product with instructions literally written in Chinese grammar. This is literally from their single postcard sized enclosure.
Plug the AC Cord into socket, according to the thickness of the materials to be sealed, regulating the heat time duration. Putting one plastic bag on the Sealing Platform.and then putting down the handle.
Please regulate the time knob(Toward the direction L)
THERE IS NO DIRECTION L, nor any L on the knob.
Once you get past the poor instructions (BTW, the quote is precise, including the punctuation.) there are other issues. The knob settings go from 1 to 8, with 6, 7, 8 in red. One would think that the 8 setting is hotter than the 1. I tried to seal a chip bag yesterday I put the knob on 1. The unit came on as the arm was lowered. But when the arm was fully seated, it turned off. It wasn't until the knob was turned to 4 or 5 that the heating element would stay on while the arm was fully down. You can't seal a bag if the arm is not full down and making contact with the base.
The instructions are useless for explaining this. However, a Google search just hit a web page with good instructions. And I discovered that the price for the same product/model from legitimate vendors runs about $80 or more.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS VENDOR.
Amazon Customer : Meh!
1st order defective return was fast and easy, second one had issue with lower section indenting and not giving proper seal.
Mrs. Q : ;)
Es realmente fácil de usar y reduce el tiempo de empaque
Daniel E. Cruz : It does the job...
Good sealer, a little cheaply made but it works.

What a nice surprise to find out how easy it was to use this at a good price too! Still using it too.
RB : Does NOT work!
Will not heat up after turning it on - useless. Was waste of the money.
Jack D. Baker : not a good sealer
very disappointed in this product. i keep hoping it would get better as its new but its not. The heating element just wont hardly cut any plastic shrink wrap no matter what gage it is...have to cut three or four times per cd and its not cost efficient sorry.
regina : Easy to use
It easy to use , just plug in and turn the power to the level you want . However it doesn’t show it is hot or cold . Easy to get hurt if not noticed

Bodied by Shannon : Doesn't work after only 4 months!!!!
I purchased my searler on March 28th. I use it maybe once a week for my business. I just changed the "element" about 5 minutes ago, and it still doesn't work. I'm not willing to unscrew anything else. I just assume it shouldn't be broken already with so little use. I have a ton of product (soaps, and bath bombs) that I need to ship soon. Now I have find another way to package u til a new sealer gets here.
