This product sucks. It doesn't seal very well and I contacted manufacturer about it. They mentioned that they would send a "new" and "improved" version but I have yet to receive that version. This thing is so not worth it. You can't use it correctly. Don't get me wrong. It is compact. It is sharp, but trying to cut or seal anything properly is not gonna happen.

First off, the cutter doesn't even work. I couldn't cut a plastic bag for the life of me. Also I spent 20 minutes trying to seal a bag. This product does not get hot or do the job its supposed to. Very disappointed in this product.

It takes a few tries to get used to the sealer. It takes me two passes to get a decent seal. The last pass is to only get the remaining one inch or so in the opposite direction. Doesn't seem to overly burn the plastic so I didn't notice a smell. For home it's great. Does it get a better seal than a chip clip? Yes, if the bag is new and doesn't get a lot of folds, the sealer probably tighter than a chip clip. Does it get an air tight seal? With practice probably, but not as good as a manufacturer seal.

Product received is defective snd doesn't work. There's no heat at all. I've inserted brand new batteries, tried holding down the button to seal and nothing happens. It doesn't get even warm, let alone, even heat up to seal anything. I also received a coupon slip with the device, saying that the seller was offering a brand new version of the mini heat sealer to customers who had purchased one, free of cost.
I immediately contacted seller by email to request a replacement for the defective device I received, or the upgraded version they were offering to customers. I got an email back right away saying they would follow up with me soon, yet its now been almost two months and I've heard nothing back, not received a new device, or an upgraded version, and no refund has been issued for the defective device I received. I basically gave this company money for a broken piece of plastic that does nothing. If i hear back, if they make it right and replace the broken unit they sent me, ill happily update this review. Until then, I DON'T RECOMMEND PURCHASING!!! BUYER BEWARE! AWFUL, DESPICIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE :(

I was surprised at how well this works. It takes a little getting use to and figuring out what types of bags it will reseal. It does not have a wide opening to put the bag through so thicker materials are a challenge. It is important to cut the bag down to size as well.

I really love this, I can't believe I never thought about purchasing this, I guess I wasn't aware that it was available for purchase. In any case, it is easy to use, it seals opened chip bags, cereal bags; which will prevent them from getting stale. The one negative aspect of it is that it seems to be easy to break, it hasn't but the plastic seems flimsy. The product does work as described and expected.

Weeks later - product still working and it has not broken at all, still performs as from day 1

The sealer definitely works but it's inconsistent with how well the seal holds up. On thicker bags, you may need to hold the plates down longer and very, very slowly slide across. Sometimes I had to do a few passes to get a complete seal. I like that it has a cover/protective lock to keep the plates from touching when not in use. The cutter tool is also useful for those hard to open bags. Overall this is a good choice if you've been looking for a bag sealer.
