Do you need special freezer bags if you’re going to be freezing the food?
Answer: No special bags are needed for freezing. I suggest a large roll & medium roll, which you can cut the length/size for your food item.
Answer: Yes. You can buy rolls of the freezer bags and make them to the size you need. Not expensive. Just look up bags for vacuum sealers.
Answer: We only use our vacuum sealer to freeze food and regular vacuum sealer bags have worked just fine for us!

Answer: It has very low sound when in use. Nothing loud or annoying. And yes you can just seal if you want. I love this thing. Would highly recommend it.

Answer: I consider moist as damp, which I would say yes. But, definitely NOT wet or liquid.

Answer: Probably not. It recommends only using bags intended for this product. You will probably ruin the unit if you try anything else. I wouldn't try it.

Answer: No way yo seal jars with this item

Answer: I'm not an electrician, but I'm going to say no. 220v appliances are wired for 220v, as far as I know. I have a 220v toaster that cannot be plugged into 110v outlets. I hope that helps. 8-)
Answer: The product is made for 120v and we do not recommend using converters.

How well does this work when sealing around 35-45 bags in succession? Does it keep vacuuming & sealing?
Answer: I have only done up to 15 at a time but it seals well. The directions say to wait one minute between each seal so it won't overheat. I don't wait quite that long but use the time between seals to label my packages with date, weight, and contents, or to weigh the next food. The built in food scale is so convenient. About 30 to 45 seconds between each seal and I've never had a problem. The bags that came with it were not good though. Food VacBags seal well.

This is my first food vacuum and I absolutely love it. It is so simple to use and really sucks all of the air out. I've used it on sliced fruit, crumbled cheese, bricks of cheese, various meats (cooked and raw), and it vacuum seals them all with ease. I hate to waste food so being able to prolong the quality and expiration date is amazing. I haven't used the scale since I don't really have a use for it I bought this model because of the price and brand. I read reviews on other, cheaper food vacuums that said spending a little extra on a Nesco was a better investment and so far I'd have to agree. ????????

I am very happy with this unit. It's just right for our household use. Hamburger meat, steaks,chicken, and pork chops are sealed perfectly. (Please be sure to read/follow the directions). The scale on top is a perk. Have used the scale more than I thought. The scale is easy to use and read.

between everyone's special diets and a productive garden, a sealer is essential. this one by Nesco fits the bill. I love the scale on topo though am perplexed as to why it requires 2 AA batteries. Not a big deal; just seems that it should be able to run on the same source as the machine. the batteries are included so sit is really a non-issue. In any event, operation is straightforward. You can use any brand bag that fits. It is fast and efficient. Very pleased with this Nexco sealer.

I like the Nesco brand, it is reliable and last for years, but there are a couple of things I don't like about the design of this particular vacuum sealer. For one the scale won't work off of the AC power cord; it will only work off of the batteries. Chances are if I'm going to use the scale on this sealer I would also be using the sealer so why require two power sources? Second nit is that the lid takes a lot of effort to get it to snap closed (don't know if mine is broken or just stiff). At first the sealer wouldn't work because I didn't have the lid snapped down tight enough. When I really put my weight on it the lid it finally snapped into place, but I was afraid I had broken it. Hopefully the snaps will loosen up as I use it for a few months.
But after I got the lid close the sealer worked like a charm. I like using a Sous Vide to cook fish and meat and sealing the food in these bags before submerging in water make the Sous Vide cooking so easy. I also buy beef from local ranchers, so the vacuum sealer makes portioning and freezing super easy.
So nice machine with a few design quirks.

I have been food prepping and vacuum sealing my meals for quite some time. This vacuum sealer has a built in digital scale to weigh and portion out your food (or herbs) which makes the whole process easy.
You can weigh and seal your food (or herbs) faster than you can say "I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream" - which is a colloquialism which originated in my hometown of Bristol, England.. or it might have been southern Uzbekistan. One of the two.
The product is: dependable, high quality, and has a great design that even my cats like.
10/10 would highly recommend.

I am late in the game of using this type of product.
With a family of my size one would think I would have been using it long ago.
Well clearly I should have been but was always worries might not be able to get the hang of it.
This starter set is just the perfect way to get me going with one.
Does a fine job of sealing up foods while getting all that air out so you can store in the freezer longer.
I have had to get more bags because we now use it so much. Has been easy enough for my teens to get in on helping me once we get home from the store and bought things in bulk more than we have before.
Now the meats and cheeses along with everything else we use it for stay fresh much longer and no more less than appealing extra ice and freezer burn on their corn dogs.
Overall simply a great set for our needs.
