Do you need special freezer bags if you’re going to be freezing the food?
Answer: No special bags are needed for freezing. I suggest a large roll & medium roll, which you can cut the length/size for your food item.
Answer: Yes. You can buy rolls of the freezer bags and make them to the size you need. Not expensive. Just look up bags for vacuum sealers.
Answer: We only use our vacuum sealer to freeze food and regular vacuum sealer bags have worked just fine for us!

Answer: It has very low sound when in use. Nothing loud or annoying. And yes you can just seal if you want. I love this thing. Would highly recommend it.

Answer: I'm not an electrician, but I'm going to say no. 220v appliances are wired for 220v, as far as I know. I have a 220v toaster that cannot be plugged into 110v outlets. I hope that helps. 8-)
Answer: The product is made for 120v and we do not recommend using converters.

How well does this work when sealing around 35-45 bags in succession? Does it keep vacuuming & sealing?
Answer: I have only done up to 15 at a time but it seals well. The directions say to wait one minute between each seal so it won't overheat. I don't wait quite that long but use the time between seals to label my packages with date, weight, and contents, or to weigh the next food. The built in food scale is so convenient. About 30 to 45 seconds between each seal and I've never had a problem. The bags that came with it were not good though. Food VacBags seal well.

I am OBSESSED with this vacuum sealer, I use it for food and for my business too. It works great. I use it for everything that goes in my freezer to prevent freezer burn. But also use it to vacuum seal packages of personal care items that I sell. That way there are no leaks. So easy to use, and I got it n sale. Excellent value. I recommend this to resellers and anyone that shops bulk and freezes meat or veggies.

This is my first food vacuum and I absolutely love it. It is so simple to use and really sucks all of the air out. I've used it on sliced fruit, crumbled cheese, bricks of cheese, various meats (cooked and raw), and it vacuum seals them all with ease. I hate to waste food so being able to prolong the quality and expiration date is amazing. I haven't used the scale since I don't really have a use for it I bought this model because of the price and brand. I read reviews on other, cheaper food vacuums that said spending a little extra on a Nesco was a better investment and so far I'd have to agree. ????????

Very nice machine. We have used a Food Saver V2244 for many years and love the convenience of storing food. I was not familiar with the brand Nesco but after using it a few times I’m impressed by the quality and ease of use. Simple and straightforward; put your food in the desired size bag, insert the open end of the bag into the slot, press a button and the air is sucked out and the bag is sealed. Easy peasey. That it comes with a small digital scale on the top of the unit is a real plus. We portion out many things; salmon (freezes beautifully) fruits like strawberry and blueberries, special herbs and soaps that we want to maintain their fragrance, and especially steaks and hamburgers. With hamburgers we like to keep the weight at no more than 6 oz each to stay on the healthy side. Usually we weigh our portions out with a postal scale so the digital scale on top of the unit saves us lots of time and energy. So far everything we have sealed with the Nesco has been perfect. One thing to keep in mind, the Nesco unit likes to have the lid left open after use. It is also attractive.

Love this machine for vacuum packing foods. Doesn't take up a lot of space. Gives a good seal. However, the bags that came with it are not the best. I recommend the Food VacBags by Vesta sold on Amazon. They held a seal better than the ones that came with this machine.

A sealer is a pretty basic appliance. Bought this one because of the scale. Works great, but a little tough to close

I like the Nesco brand, it is reliable and last for years, but there are a couple of things I don't like about the design of this particular vacuum sealer. For one the scale won't work off of the AC power cord; it will only work off of the batteries. Chances are if I'm going to use the scale on this sealer I would also be using the sealer so why require two power sources? Second nit is that the lid takes a lot of effort to get it to snap closed (don't know if mine is broken or just stiff). At first the sealer wouldn't work because I didn't have the lid snapped down tight enough. When I really put my weight on it the lid it finally snapped into place, but I was afraid I had broken it. Hopefully the snaps will loosen up as I use it for a few months.
But after I got the lid close the sealer worked like a charm. I like using a Sous Vide to cook fish and meat and sealing the food in these bags before submerging in water make the Sous Vide cooking so easy. I also buy beef from local ranchers, so the vacuum sealer makes portioning and freezing super easy.
So nice machine with a few design quirks.

When I first used this sealer I didn't like it. But AFTER reading instructions and THINKING it works perfectly!! You have to put the bags in shinny side up. Duh...So, if you are having trouble flip the bag over!! Anyway love it and highly recommend! My freezer is full again!!
