The quiet, powerful Converga-Flow® fan forces heated air down the exterior pressurized chamber, then horizontally across each individual tray. Answer: In my opinion it is not loud. I have it on the porch just outside the door and can not hear it with door closed.

Is the bottom tray supposed supposed to fit base because mine doesn’t

Answer: Not quite sure what you're asking. I will say this much. The very bottom of the dehydrator is not for drying. It is just a bottom. The walls of the dehydrator are built up by the exterior of the drying trays. So as the trays stack, it constructs the exterior wall. Now, the bottom tray and the bottom portion of the dehydrator are not the same nor are they meant to sit one inside the other, just on.... (In alignment)

I like that it is quiet and easy to use. I ordered extra trays so now I can do in decent amount of food for the time and effort. I didn't give the full five stars because i have only dried apple slices in it so far and don't know how it will perform with other foods yet. Easily cleaned but, like i said, have only done apple slices so far. I read in an earlier review that the trays seem a bit flimsy and I agree. But, they didn't come broken or warped so, so far so good on the usage.

Didn’t take any photos, because it looks just like the pictures. I have made 3 batches of jerky in this and it works incredibly well. Better than I could have hoped for. Definitely get this one over the analog version because of the timer, it’s a life saver.

We have returned this item. It was not efficient or affective at really drying out fruit and making it crisp. Everything was super chewy even after doubling time and increasing heat. We will use our oven on low instead.

Disappointing - the drying trays were all warped and undulating. if you do not plan to do fruit leathers or other more liquid foods this may not be a problem. The digital timer and temp controls a plus..

I don't think the temperature control works very well. I've been trying to dry basil for over 48 hours at 95°. It's still just wilted.
The trays arrived warped and the fruit leather tray, warped as well. No good for a thin uniform fruit leather. The puree just runs off the low points.

Hope : The Digital Temperature and Time Control not Working

It looks good, but the digital temperature and time control are not working. There are no numbers but just radam lines. I just cannot believe it is made in US. It's just waste my time to do the exchange. I am getting an analog one, which is easy to use and more reliable.

One of the pros is that this allows you to choose temperatures in increments of 5°! It's fabulous!
It's not silent, but it's reasonably quiet.
it didn't dry out right away and in fact while I was learning about the unit, I had to figure out the drying time and temperatures that would work for me. I personally would need almost double the amount of time that was in the recipe book that came.
I made some banana chips and tomato chips and the family polished those right off!
I do plan to make some meat jerky in the future I just wanted to try my hand at fruits and vegetables first!

I do love the look of this I do love the convenience of this it's a little bigger than a standard cupboard depth, but it doesn't look bad on the counter.

I purchased this unit because my old one died. The other one had the manual knob adjustment but otherwise it's identical. The molds for the trays and shelves has changed because the more recent model seems thinner and has poorer fit and finish. I'm using my old shelves because the new ones aren't the same. The actual fan/heating unit seems similar enough to say it's the same but I hope it doesn't overheat and burn out like my old one did. We'll see. Out of the box, 4/5 stars.
