I just did 90 eggs last night (without the shell) and could not vacuum pack them - I just had to put them in the bag and use the seal function.

After the unit has been cleaned and allowed to fully dry, close lid without locking and slide button to the Store position. This setting prevents any undue pressure from being applied to the internal sealing gaskets of the unit.

After first foodsaver didn't close we received a replacement which won't close either. What a piece of junk.Save your insanity don't order this item.
Mrs. Tibbs : Needs major improving on the suctioning.
The vacuuming on this sealer is not good at all. It sucks but like it’s on a timer. I noticed that it wasn’t sucking out all the air. It would suck everything I packaged for at least 6seconds and then beginning sealing right after, but it did that for everything both small and large packages. The sealer is good but the suction parts needa a lot of improving. If the suction was great this product would be perfect. When I went to lock the lid I noticed it only clicked on the left side but the right side had no locking sound I don’t know if it’s supposed to only lock on one side but it did and I think that may be one of the reasons why the vacuum doesn’t suck as good as it should. I wish it had a good suction to it cause then I would’ve kept it. It’s lite weight and easy to use. I hope they fix the suction on this product so I can eventually try it again.

My wife has been using it for months and so far we got a few things to share. We highly recommend getting the advanced one. This one is not doing the best job when it comes to sealing. It is also somewhat small if you want to use it for chicken. However it is simple to use, even my senior mother can use it. Just spend extra to buy a better one.
CS : Takes up little space and works great!
When I first got this I didn't think I would keep it, because I could not get it to shut. I pressed down hard but it still would not latch. Then I found that if I did each side individually by gripping it in my hand and then going to the other side and gripping it with my hand it would close and work great. You can also push down on one side at a time and that will work too. Once I figured this out it has been a blessing to have. I have been using it now for four months. I reseal cereal, chips, frozen vegetables, and package meats to freeze, and I have not had a problem. I really like the hand held sealer for the resealable bags. Now my cheese stays fresh and keeps longer. The slim size doesn't take up much room on the counter either. When not in use I simply turn it up on its end and slide it between my mixer and air-fryer. Then when I need it I just slide it out on the counter and lay it flat. Much better than the bigger sizes that take up so much room. I must say this was money well spent. I don't do many reviews, but I thought everyone should know this is a really good purchase once you learn how to shut it. Prior to learning to shut it I was about to give a very bad review, but I am glad I worked with it a little more before I did.

I have a game saver 700 that’s great for bulk jobs, but it’s a beast and takes A ton of counter space. This little food.. saver takes up almost no counter space,soIt stays out on the counter and gets used several times a week. We are empty-nesters now and it’s nice to be able to vacuum seal leftovers and still have them be great months later when they come out of the freezer.

This is my first Food Saver. I was really excited about it. Overall, it's easy to use and operate even for a novice like myself. The directions are clear and after having a few failed attempts I could easily trouble shoot what I did wrong.
I'm not sure if I will use it every single day or make the effort to put all my leftovers in it for a few reasons:
The short cord makes it awkward to use with my counter space (don't have a lot of outlets around my counter) so I need to hold the bag straight while also operating the machine. I plan on re-organizing my counter space and adding a power strip to make it easier.
I have concerns about the unit when pressing down to latch. I have to press really, really HARD. So hard the plastic makes noises like it's about to crack. It's very possible I am the one who is doing something wrong as this is my first food saver. I have no issues admitting that.
It's a little time consuming and adds expense to make bags. It comes with an additional roll and a few pre-made but you need to make your own or buy more after that. I do like how they are re-useable however at some point they will be used up totally requiring an additional purchase.

I took a picture of some pancakes we made sealed down for freezer storage. Now the kids can have pancakes quickly in the morning and I don't have to buy pre-made.

I bought this food saver 4-25-21, today was the first day I had time to try it out and as soon as I plugged it in nothing happened. No lights came on even after pressing buttons it still wouldn’t turn on. I am DEEPLY disappointed in this machine as the one I used before I had for 5 yrs before it died.

The vacuuming on this sealer is not good at all. It sucks but like it’s on a timer. I noticed that it wasn’t sucking out all the air. It would suck everything I packaged for at least 6seconds and then beginning sealing right after, but it did that for everything both small and large packages. The sealer is good but the suction parts needa a lot of improving. If the suction was great this product would be perfect. When I went to lock the lid I noticed it only clicked on the left side but the right side had no locking sound I don’t know if it’s supposed to only lock on one side but it did and I think that may be one of the reasons why the vacuum doesn’t suck as good as it should. I wish it had a good suction to it cause then I would’ve kept it. It’s lite weight and easy to use. I hope they fix the suction on this product so I can eventually try it again.

I find it irritating that THIS MODEL does NOT come with an attachment hose. It's a cheap part that obviously comes with other models. I can't order it from FOODSAVER because they seem to be out of stock on just about all accessories. I suppose Amazon and Ebay sellers are buying up 3 dollar accessories from Foodsaver website and reselling on Amazon/Ebay for quadruple the price. Anyway, I'm returning this due to NOT having an accessory hose like the other models... totally dumb. Another thing, it is difficult to snap shut and their bags are high. Watch YouTube for vacuum sealer reviews. I wish I had done more homework. Returning and reordering something with assesory hose and cutter included.

I love this thing. Buying bagged salad? Reseal it for freshness. Same for chips, cookies, cheese, cereal bags. If they heat sealed it at the factory you can reseal it, plus purchase your own bags seal them and make your own boil in the bag dinners. That was a fad in the 1970's now they call it sous vide...

I replaced a larger model with this. I have limited space in my new home and cabin at space is premium. The only disadvantage is that it does not have a bag storage and cutter lik the bigger model, but otherwise works the same. I have used food saver systems for many years and as a single person would not do without one. Also good for preserving valuable documents. Keeps them waterproof.

I tried using it day 1. Doesn’t work at all, no power. Unfortunately in the excitement, I threw away the box. The company website has no information on customer service inside of the United States. I’m out of the money I thought I would be saving. This is a HUGE disappointment. I can’t even return because it took me so long to open it.

Always wanted to try a vacuum sealer and sooo glad that I got this one! At first I thought that the unit was DOA - I could not get it to close. Apparently it just requires some serious pressure to get it to lock into place. Once locked I just selected the "moist" option as I wanted to seal a pork tenderloin - and about 1 minute later it was all done! I used an included precut bag which made it much easier than cutting one. This is going to make using my sous vide so much easier!
My spouse thinks I'm a bit crazy as I am going through the kitchen and refrigerator looking for stuff to vacuum seal - I really like this! It's also very easy to store (just be sure to use the "store" selector on the side. I store the extra bags in a drawer next to the pantry - I'd rather have this smaller version of vacuum sealer than a larger one that has storage for bags.

I already have a Foodsaver brand vacuum sealer. I was looking forward to this smaller one since my bigger model has been finicky lately. This one never even worked the first time I plugged it in. I love these machines, just disappointed this one didn’t work from day 1. Maybe I just got a dud. Returned for a refund.

This was my first FoodSaver purchase. I am sure that there are good ones. I do not think this is one of them. Almost have to stand on it to get it to close and the mason jar attachment that is advertised to work with it (The hose will not fit into the accessory port.) The suction power is just so so when using on the bags. I really want to like this machine, but it is not making it easy to do so.

Opened the box. Opened the lid and that was the end of that. Lid didn't close after that. If the lid doesn't close then it has no power. There's absolutely no instructions. I went to the Foodsaver website and there's no manual there either. I called customer support for help and a recording says they said they cant take my call but do a contact form on the website and they will call me back. 24 hrs later still no return call. This is a piece of junk. Sent back.

First, ignore all the reviews about the locking mechanism being hard to use. I am not particularly large or strong, but I can read directions, so this was easy to use, including closing the locking mechanism.

I shop at Costco, and even with the occasional thrown-away food, it is still cheaper, but I always feel terrible about food waste. Now, I my chest freezer is full of vacuum sealed food, and I am not throwing food away weekly.
There are two settings, one for moist, and one for dry. I have mainly used the 'moist' setting for food. When vacuum sealing fruits and vegetables, take a few minutes and Google the best way to prepare them for vacuum sealing. (I learned that blanching is a great way to preserve many vegetables!) I have used the dry setting for flour and rice - and nail polish stickers (a weird one, I know). (I use nail polish stickers and they dry out as soon as you open the packs, so you are forced to buy more, even though you only use 1/4 of the stickers per use. I now use my Food Saver to reseal the packs and use them over and over.)
I used the bags that came with this Food Saver, and went through those quickly. I then starting using the roll to make bags - there are directions on how to make the bags in the packaging, but it is also pretty intuitive. When I first ordered a new roll of vacuum seal material, it seemed expensive ($26 for 3 rolls), but when compared to how much I save on food waste, it was worth it.
The one thing I messed up the first time was how far to insert the bag to seal it. I inserted it waaaay too far and the Food Saver just continued to try and vacuum the air out for over a minute. I was worried that it would burn out the mechanism, so I opened the machine and it shut off right away without damaging the machine, which is good to know in case I mess up again in the future. I then re-inserted the bag so that the edge just came up to the drip tray (like it says in the directions, funny how following them works...), tried it again, and it worked perfectly. As I was learning how to use this, I did insert the bag too far a couple of times, and used this process to correct it and vacuum seal the bag with no issues.

The hose port will not fit any foodsaver brand hose or even any off brand accessory hoses. The only reason i bought this was to seal mason jars. I'm rather pissed off! I feel like food saver must have slapped their name on another makers product. F.

While the lid is closed, the vacuum holds, as soon as I open the lid, the air gets back in because the bags are not completely sealed.
I’m returning this one and I’m going to try again with another machine.

Works well enough once you get your hydraulic press in place to close it. The problem is the hydraulic press cost 8000 dollars and the brackets and tooling used to hold the Food Saver in place took a few days to set up. Once I applied the four tons of pressure needed to close it it worked well. Keep in mind you have to set your press up off center because the right side is more difficult to press closed than the left side.

I thought the product wouldn’t turn on and researching many on YouTube said the same but finally figured it out. Put your bag in and very firmly press the front on both sides till you hear a good click. Lights turn on then and works perfectly. They should add this to the instruction manual as all that describes is loading the bag. Press hard till the click, then wallabies it works great.

The food saver does not work. On plugging it in, I got no lights, no suction, no power. I viewed the online video of how to use the food saver and followed directions closely, to no avail.

I should have read the negative reviews about how the hose attachment does NOT fit in the accessory hole. I am not sure what attachment does fit??? but I returned it. I want my current / older foodsaver hose and accessories to work with a new one, and I need a new one because the vacuum and seal function on my current / older foodsaver no longer works (only the accessory hose attachment works).

When this product arrived it never came on. I returned it for another one just like it. When it arrived it would not come on. I even contacted Sunbeam about it not working. They asked me if I had plugged it in to a working receptacle. DUH. I'm not stupid. I was told they had discontinued this product and could not help me. I returned that one to Amazon also and ordered a different brand. Hopefully some of these products worked but I did not want to keep on till I got a working one.

Overall we REALLY like this unit and look forward to using it for years to come!
My spouse thinks I'm a bit crazy as I am going through the kitchen and refrigerator looking for stuff to vacuum seal - I really like this! It's also very easy to store (just be sure to use the "store" selector on the side. I store the extra bags in a drawer next to the pantry - I'd rather have this smaller version of vacuum sealer than a larger one that has storage for bags.
