This setting prevents any undue pressure from being applied to the internal sealing gaskets of the unit.

I used this to vacuum seal some hops and it does an amazing job.

Works well enough once you get your hydraulic press in place to close it. The problem is the hydraulic press cost 8000 dollars and the brackets and tooling used to hold the Food Saver in place took a few days to set up. Once I applied the four tons of pressure needed to close it it worked well. Keep in mind you have to set your press up off center because the right side is more difficult to press closed than the left side.

I should have read the negative reviews about how the hose attachment does NOT fit in the accessory hole. I am not sure what attachment does fit??? but I returned it. I want my current / older foodsaver hose and accessories to work with a new one, and I need a new one because the vacuum and seal function on my current / older foodsaver no longer works (only the accessory hose attachment works).

I have always been a fan of the foodsaver. My older model was no longer sealing the bags so I had to order a new one. The foodsaver V0150 is a lot quieter then the older models. I can actually seal the food and still have a conversation with people. I am very happy with this order.

I bought a jar sealer that didn't work with my older model of FoodSaver with built in hose. Hose fit, but not enough suction to seal. I then bought this new FoodSaver that was supposed to fit all accessories. It didn't; the hole to plug in was different. My mom then got very sick and then died and I hadn't been able to get to the post office to send back. Since too late to send back, guess I will go ahead and use other function to seal bags after removing air and toss my old one.

I replaced a larger model with this. I have limited space in my new home and cabin at space is premium. The only disadvantage is that it does not have a bag storage and cutter lik the bigger model, but otherwise works the same. I have used food saver systems for many years and as a single person would not do without one. Also good for preserving valuable documents. Keeps them waterproof.

Accessory port would not hold tube in hole. tried to order new hose, but all sites out of stock. Contacted customer service. 1st they sent the wrong hose, 2nd sent correct hose but still would not work. Now I am past the 30 day return window. 3rd try, I explained that the hose still would not work and that the sealer itself was obviously defective. 4th try, they sent another hose, it didn't work either. 5th try, they finally sent a shipping label to return sealer so they could "inspect" it. 10 days after shipping I have heard and received nothing.
You can only contact support through email as there is currently no phone service due to Covid.
I would never buy this product again regardless of how it functions or lasts because if it breaks or doesn't work tech support will wear you down until you you give up.

The vacuum power is completely lacking, it would not completely vacate all the air. Plus once it "finished" the vacuum process it failed to seal the bag. I gave up after multiple attempts. In all, it is a complete failure.

Glad I got this. I haven't had a vacuum sealer before. It works with the handheld attachment, too. (Sold separately.) They don't state that but it does. It IS stiff to push down. You have to push down till you hear a click on each side. You push it closed when you use the attachment, too. But don't store it closed like that. It has a latch to use for storage because you're not supposed to store it when it's squeezed shut all the way. It's very handy to stand on its edge and leave it slid out of the way on the counter.

I liked this product very much for the first few times I used it. Now it does not close properly and even if I lean on it to make it work it doesn't suck very well. I would just junk it if I hadn't bought so many bags.

I find that this machines works much faster than the older model that I previously had by FoodSaver. This machine is easy to use, not as hard as some reviewers said, about opening and shutting. Glad that I purchased this machine.

I have a game saver 700 that’s great for bulk jobs, but it’s a beast and takes A ton of counter space. This little food.. saver takes up almost no counter space,soIt stays out on the counter and gets used several times a week. We are empty-nesters now and it’s nice to be able to vacuum seal leftovers and still have them be great months later when they come out of the freezer.

I got a food saver vacuum sealer and a food saver jar attachment. They appear to be incompatible. I tried calling customer service during their normal business hours and they were closed. I then sent an email to the custo.er service email address listed in the instructions. It came back as a bad email address.

The food saver does not work. On plugging it in, I got no lights, no suction, no power. I viewed the online video of how to use the food saver and followed directions closely, to no avail.
I had actually ordered 2 of these units and - surprisingly - neither one worked!! I found the same issues with both of these units. Disappointed to say the very least! I will be returning these as soon as I can get to the post office.

Purchased my first FoodSaver 1 days ago. Could not get it to function. The only time the green light came on was when I squeezed the lid as hard as I could. Once I released the pressure the light went off. Called Amazon and they sent a new one the next day. I was pleased until I ran into the same problem and now I see this is a universal issue. I’ll go somewhere else to purchase a device. This is the positively worst experience I’ve had with any appliance. Amazon should be embarrassed to carry it.

Works well most of the time. With wet items, I sometimes have to seal again to get a good seal.
The latch is firm, but not a problem if it is put on a sturdy table or counter and you press firmly on both sides.

The manufacturer did a very poor job of providing thorough instructions. Had to learn most by trial and error which wasted quite a bit of the small amount of bags on the roll that came with the unit

Works well enough once you get your hydraulic press in place to close it. The problem is the hydraulic press cost 8000 dollars and the brackets and tooling used to hold the Food Saver in place took a few days to set up. Once I applied the four tons of pressure needed to close it it worked well. Keep in mind you have to set your press up off center because the right side is more difficult to press closed than the left side.

I already have a Foodsaver brand vacuum sealer. I was looking forward to this smaller one since my bigger model has been finicky lately. This one never even worked the first time I plugged it in. I love these machines, just disappointed this one didn’t work from day 1. Maybe I just got a dud. Returned for a refund.

So, I'm going to return this stupid product and instead order a GERYON Vacuum Sealer, which seems to come with the same vacuum tube as what is in the FoodSaver Regular Sealer and Accessory Hose Wide-Mouth Jar Kit, to see if that will work.

I purchased this Foodsaver . It does have an accessory port but no accessory hose came with it. The main reason for this purchase was to use for canning and had planned to also purchase the FoodSaver Jar Sealer Kit but it was out of stock on Amazon and everywhere else online including on Foodsaver website.
So I have had the Foodsaver VS0150 for a little over 2 months and have now missed the return date for Amazon. A week ago the Foodsaver Jar Sealer kit was back in stock so I ordered it.

This is my first food saver. I like to cook but live alone so I tend to have a lot of leftovers. I bought this wondering if it could handle a dee dish pie shell. I made 2 quiches, consumed one, and vaccuum sealed and froze the other one, see picture. This unit worked great, and I like the fact that Food Saver is a long time brand with a history, and not some generic sounding brad.

I purchased this model the beginning of January 2021. Immediately out of the box, I found the force needed to close the lid with the 2 hands required at opposite ends of the machine was excessive. As much as I tried, I could not get a consistent vacuum and seal with this machine. I contacted Foodssaver customer support. As I was speaking to the representative, I realized the bottom portion of the gasket seal inside the lid was not in the channel where it should be. Even though she would not listen to me about the gasket, I replaced it into the channel and then I achieved a good seal in a spoon test she was instructing me to do. The gasket would not remain in the channel and had significant indentations where it had been folded coming out of the channel.
I decided to return this item and chose instead the 2435 model which is awesome! One handed lid closing is so much easier and convenient.

I find it irritating that THIS MODEL does NOT come with an attachment hose. It's a cheap part that obviously comes with other models. I can't order it from FOODSAVER because they seem to be out of stock on just about all accessories. I suppose Amazon and Ebay sellers are buying up 3 dollar accessories from Foodsaver website and reselling on Amazon/Ebay for quadruple the price. Anyway, I'm returning this due to NOT having an accessory hose like the other models... totally dumb. Another thing, it is difficult to snap shut and their bags are high. Watch YouTube for vacuum sealer reviews. I wish I had done more homework. Returning and reordering something with assesory hose and cutter included.

I tried a few of the knock off brands first but in the end they did not work. So I ordered this one on sale and I just shoukd have gotten it in the first place. The quality matters in a food sealer, and they did a great job on this new one. Worka great and doesn't look out of place in my tiny kitchen.

Owned a previous model that stop sealing. This model is definitely improved. Seals consistently. A little hard to click the right side in position. High moisture items like soup you need to stop the vacuum and seal. The removable drip tray is awesome. In general, just works better.

My daughter had the 4400 model and loved it. We bought this one because it was smaller and easier to keep on the countertop. We were very disappointed that it did not cut the bag, it is hard to open and close and also difficult to line up the bags in the sealer. This machine was not built to last. It appears to be poorly constructed. We returned it and bought the 4400 which is a much better model And $100 more. You get what you pay for
