Where is it made?
Answer: Hello, this is Gosia from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver VS0150. Our products are manufactured in China.
Answer: Foodsaver, you'll get more sales if you move your manufacturing to a country with a better human rights record. Doesn't have to be USA.
Answer: I am also looking for a vacuum food sealer that is made anywhere around the world but NOT made in china.

Q:
Which converter should I use to run this machine in Singapore which is 230V?
Answer: Hello, this is Gosia from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver VS0150. We are sorry but do not recommend consumers to use American Products in other countries, since they are manufactured to cover particular standards. Although an adapter or transformer could provide a voltage appropriate for use, the internal elements of each product are not manufactured for this purpose, over time they can generate various failures and the product warranty would be invalidated by an inappropriate use.

Answer: Hi, this is Gosia from FoodSaver care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver VS0160. Yes, the FoodSaver Jar Sealer is compatible with this appliance, you just need a suitable accessory hose.
Answer: You can’t, the hose with the jar sealer is too small. Super annoying, it says it works with all food saver units, and this unit advertises its compatible with all food saver accessories. Both untrue.
Answer: Probably not? It comes with Nothing, other than a few bags. I had never had a “FoodSaver” (or any other brand) before. No manual, no hose. Nothing. As I posted in my review, I think this is a “knock-off”. I returned it, and do not recommend it.
Answer: I don’t think so
Q:
How many lieters per minute will it vacuum?
Answer: Hello, this is Marcin from Foodsaver care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver VS0150. The air from the appliance moves at an average speed of about 1,115 fps (340 mps). This Foodsaver appliance creates suction by creating a drop in air pressure, essentially vacuum sealing food or liquid amount depending on the size of the foodsaver bag. For more information, please visit the official brand website.
Answer: I don't pay attention the number of minutes it will vacuum because the machine automatically switches to the sealing process after the vacuuming is completed,
Answer: You should ask the manufacturer this question. I am not in a big hurry when I use it so it’s speed of vacuum isn’t that big of deal for me.
Q:
With the Seal button, can I interrupt the vacuum mode and initiate sealing at any time?
Answer: Hello, this is Mateusz from FoodSaver!
Answer: Yes, absolutely, Start sealing anytime as not to draw anything unwanted into the machine. I love my Food saver and will never be without one again

Answer: Mine did not work either. I exchanged for the same model but it didn't work either. I ordered another Food Saver Model and it's great.
Answer: I've gotten two sealers and both have not worked at all
Answer: Read your instructions or call customer service at Amazon or the company.
Answer: Mine was broke. Too! Both of them!
Answer: Have you read the instructions? Sounds like you have not. Suggest you do.

Q:
Can you use ziplock bags for this?
Answer: Hello, this is Marcin from Foodsaver care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver VS0150. The appliance is only compatible with our foodsaver vacuum sealer bags and rolls. For additional information, please view our official website.
Answer: Yes, you can use ziplock bags, but they don't work very well because they are so thin.
Answer: No.
Answer: NO
Q:
Has never suctioned well at all, and will not automatically change from vacuum to section- when I do this manually it looses suction?
Answer: Vacuum and suction would be the same function - you cannot change from one to the other. The 2 options are vacuum and seal. If you hit vacuum - it automatically seals. What are you trying to vacuum pack? Wet substances are hard to vacuum seal. I just did 90 eggs last night (without the shell) and could not vacuum pack them - I just had to put them in the bag and use the seal function.
Answer: Return it. It’s faulty
Q:
Just upset, I already have a food saver but it's 5 years old and thought I would order a new model. Was excited when it came but it's defective!!!
Answer: me also. my husband got this for fathers day but didnt open it until mid-July. The return "window" had closed by then. Expensive learning curve.
Q:
There are no instructions/warranty information that came with the machine. The manual is not on your website? Operation instructions please?!

Answer:
Answer: You really need the instructions. A owners manual came in the plastic bag with the stowage bags with my machine. If you can't find the instructions I would exchange the machine with Amazon. Goos luck.

Q:
How do I get this to close??
Answer: Hi, this is Gosia from FoodSaver Care. Thank you for contacting us regarding our FoodSaver VS0160. To make a bag press lid to lock. Dry mode light will illuminate when the lid is fully locked and ready to OPERATE. After the unit has been cleaned and allowed to fully dry, close lid without locking and slide button to the Store position. This setting prevents any undue pressure from being applied to the internal sealing gaskets of the unit.

Is this supposed to vacuum and then seal? Mine will not automatically seal once it's done with the vacuum and when I go to seal, some vacuum is lost.
Answer: It goes to seal… once the vacuum is done the red light will turn on above “seal” and it’ll take like 10-15 seconds to seal.
Answer: Yes. It should seal once the vacuum is complete. The seal light flashes and then is constant when sealing is complete. It shouldn’t lose any vacuum while sealing. Good luck.

Q:
Why would you need a hose with a food saver?
Answer: to seal jars and sometimes marinating containers.. but the bigger question is why would anyone by this terrible version of a food saver.. as far as i am concerned it should not have ever made it out of the first round of QA testing.

Product reviews of FoodSaver VS0150 PowerVac Compact Vacuum Sealing Machine, Vertical Vacuum Sealer Storage, Black
Thomas E. Phillips : Lack of Instructions!
The manufacturer did a very poor job of providing thorough instructions. Had to learn most by trial and error which wasted quite a bit of the small amount of bags on the roll that came with the unit
AC : Stopped working
Worked for a month or two and stopped. Now outside of return window. Im going to get one at a big warehouse store that has a more generous return policy and this one is going in the garbage.
R. Prevette : Perfect!
Originally, I ordered a cheaper off brand version on this item but was severely disappointed. Save yourself the headache and get the best. This vacuum sealer is so great. It works really well! I use it for freezing meats and saving my extra Color Street Nails!
KAREN WELLS : works wonderful
After buying the expensive name brand food saver on here it was so hard to shut I had to have my husband do it!! So i ordered this one by the ratings and I love it! Easy to use, great suction and small enough to fit in the cabinet
E. Giro : Great sealer, and very easy to use!
This is my first food saver. I like to cook but live alone so I tend to have a lot of leftovers. I bought this wondering if it could handle a dee dish pie shell. I made 2 quiches, consumed one, and vaccuum sealed and froze the other one, see picture. This unit worked great, and I like the fact that Food Saver is a long time brand with a history, and not some generic sounding brad.
Deborah Culp-Hook : Great Compact Food Saver. Not for Weak People Though!
I love the compact size. I had a larger Food Saver for 10 years which stopped suctioning well. This is the replacement. Only complaint is the amount of pressure needed to close it for use. I actually thought it was broken until I put my weight into it and the lights came on. I have cancer and my strength is not what it used to be, but I still think this should be more easily locked into position for use. My adult son said the same, especially after years of our other Food Saver that closed for use very easily with a lever on the side.
E. Giro : Great sealer, and very easy to use!

Vegas : Difficult to operate.
This basic version is a challenge to use. It’s very hard to shut the cover, you have to really push down equally on both sides. If you put the end of the bag in to deep the suction will not work. Then you have to hold the bag in a certain position to get the suction going. Sometimes it will seal automatically after vacuuming, sometimes it will not. Again, you have to hold the bag in a very precise position or it will not go. Very frustrating. I wasted a few bags until I got the hang of it, and even then it was still hit or miss. I have not decided if I will continue to put up with the inconvenience or return it.
Boymom4 : Wish I knew this before I bought it excess report does not work
The Excess report does not work at allAnd after I looked all this information up a line I found out this was the biggest complaint about the item wish I would’ve seen that more frequently on the reviews before and it took three tries to suction my one item correctly so honestly just very disappointed
Monica Bertsch : Gggrrr
I hate these new vac packs, my old one you just lift and close, now you have to push down until they click shut, have to line up bags perfectly, and then have to push buttons on side to open, what a hassle, especially trying to do meat, I love vac packing, but old models are so much easier and nicer, please go back to making them
g$ : Wouldn’t turn on straight out of box
Wouldn’t turn on. Plugged into 4 different outlets, walls and extension - light wouldn’t turn on. Device doesn’t work. This return and replace costs me time and it is disappointing. Might update once working device comes but bummer.
****UPDATE***** REPLACEMENT DEVICE DID NOT WORK EITHER -- SAME ISSUE. NO LIGHT TURN ON WHEN I PLUG-IN & TRIED MULTIPLE LOCATIONS WITH OTHER WORKING DEVICES PLUGGED IN
Indie : Improved Product
Owned a previous model that stop sealing. This model is definitely improved. Seals consistently. A little hard to click the right side in position. High moisture items like soup you need to stop the vacuum and seal. The removable drip tray is awesome. In general, just works better.
RadioPam ???? : This Great Product Really "Sucks"!
So far it works great. Shortish cord. Its light tho. So I just lift it out of its place and use and back. It has an accessory hose female attachment. For the vinyl hose everyone is always worried about. Pretty simple to use. I had another, more expensive older one. Just got yucky and yellowed.
Star Tiera : This is a flawed model????????☠️
Must use super human strength to hold down for sealing. It is completely defective. DO NOT BUY????????????
Sabrina : ALREADY BROKEN. WON'T VACUUM!
I got this in January and it doesn't vacuum anymore. The sealer works but zero suction. I paid $100 for this product. VERY UNHAPPY!
Joanne gilmore : Piece of junk
I have been using food saver products for years since they first came out however this new model is not good and not worth the money I returned it another piece of junk from China
elruss : Didn't like this model so returned it.
This sealer was different than the other sealer (same brand) that we owned in that it has sealer locks on either side that need to be pushed down in order for the lid to seal rather than the single lever lock on our previous sealer. My wife was unable to generate the downforce to lock the lid properly, so this sealer was returned without use.
Steve Me : Don't waste your money.
The vacuum power is completely lacking, it would not completely vacate all the air. Plus once it "finished" the vacuum process it failed to seal the bag. I gave up after multiple attempts. In all, it is a complete failure.
Frederick Sweeney : Handy
I have a game saver 700 that’s great for bulk jobs, but it’s a beast and takes A ton of counter space. This little food.. saver takes up almost no counter space,soIt stays out on the counter and gets used several times a week. We are empty-nesters now and it’s nice to be able to vacuum seal leftovers and still have them be great months later when they come out of the freezer.
Donna : Disappointment
When item arrived, it wouldn't work when plugged in. Returned immediately!
KevNak : 3 stars for Suction power because I assume its fine - didn't even try the suction
To further elaborate, I've used FoodSaver vacuum sealers for the past 10 years since first getting a freezer and also the beginning of my sous vide experimentation.
The Food Saver appliances have always been easy to use, intuitive and generally high quality, reliable and user friendly. Like another reviewer, I spent a good 10 minutes trying to figure out why I could not close the appliance enough to even try a seal. I started looking for extra pieces of shipping cardboard, loose screws, extra pieces or something not aligned or a lever or button to push. It was then I decided, screw it, im just going to push really hard, and to my surprise and confusion it locked and I could test a seal.
I'm not a weight lifter but I'm a 175 pound human and I had to push relatively hard to get it shut. So hard that I started examining the profile to see if it was bowing from something being stuck. My bewilderment at how hard I had to press even lead me to get a ruler and measure the thickness of the "locked" Food Saver from end to end for inconsistencies. IT WAS EVEN....this means that someone actually thought it would be good to continually press down and snap PLASTIC over and over again.
Despite the good overall review rating, I cannot even think about keeping this more than 5 min. I dont care how well it seals because to me this is an item that somehow made it through presumably multiple departments onto Amazon when it should have been sent back to the drawing board. It may work well, it may be something that lasts years, but I do not see that happening. Nothing should require so much brute force to close. I use less force to close a large car door...
A Smith : Broke in five months.
Bought this for my sister in January worked fine the first time. She went through a roll of bags. A few months went by when she had a need to use it again. Didn't work. Thought user error maybe. So I went out and bought her a different kind of bag. Still didn't work. Didn't get the warranty. I don't believe in paying more money to make sure something works right. Sell a good product. Do not buy this.
Mrs. Tibbs : Needs major improving on the suctioning.
The vacuuming on this sealer is not good at all. It sucks but like it’s on a timer. I noticed that it wasn’t sucking out all the air. It would suck everything I packaged for at least 6seconds and then beginning sealing right after, but it did that for everything both small and large packages. The sealer is good but the suction parts needa a lot of improving. If the suction was great this product would be perfect. When I went to lock the lid I noticed it only clicked on the left side but the right side had no locking sound I don’t know if it’s supposed to only lock on one side but it did and I think that may be one of the reasons why the vacuum doesn’t suck as good as it should. I wish it had a good suction to it cause then I would’ve kept it. It’s lite weight and easy to use. I hope they fix the suction on this product so I can eventually try it again.
CS : Takes up little space and works great!
When I first got this I didn't think I would keep it, because I could not get it to shut. I pressed down hard but it still would not latch. Then I found that if I did each side individually by gripping it in my hand and then going to the other side and gripping it with my hand it would close and work great. You can also push down on one side at a time and that will work too. Once I figured this out it has been a blessing to have. I have been using it now for four months. I reseal cereal, chips, frozen vegetables, and package meats to freeze, and I have not had a problem. I really like the hand held sealer for the resealable bags. Now my cheese stays fresh and keeps longer. The slim size doesn't take up much room on the counter either. When not in use I simply turn it up on its end and slide it between my mixer and air-fryer. Then when I need it I just slide it out on the counter and lay it flat. Much better than the bigger sizes that take up so much room. I must say this was money well spent. I don't do many reviews, but I thought everyone should know this is a really good purchase once you learn how to shut it. Prior to learning to shut it I was about to give a very bad review, but I am glad I worked with it a little more before I did.
D. M. Fisher : Save time and money!
I am really liking my Food Saver. It took me a few tries to get it right but that's just me. I look forward to the savings that I will have by not having to throw out food because of freezer burn.
George Guilmette : Got what I paid for
Guess I should have read more about it. Didn't have the features that I'm used to in a food saver machine.... Have to cut bags with siccors.. have to use both hands... doesn't seal as good as I'm expecting from food saver...!! Like I said.... should have delved in it a bit more.

John R. : Nice to know I’m not the only one to have an issue with this excuse for a food vacuum storage unit
Purchased my first FoodSaver 1 days ago. Could not get it to function. The only time the green light came on was when I squeezed the lid as hard as I could. Once I released the pressure the light went off. Called Amazon and they sent a new one the next day. I was pleased until I ran into the same problem and now I see this is a universal issue. I’ll go somewhere else to purchase a device. This is the positively worst experience I’ve had with any appliance. Amazon should be embarrassed to carry it.
MIB : Accessory Port does not fit Foodsaver accessory tubing.
I purchased this Foodsaver . It does have an accessory port but no accessory hose came with it. The main reason for this purchase was to use for canning and had planned to also purchase the FoodSaver Jar Sealer Kit but it was out of stock on Amazon and everywhere else online including on Foodsaver website.
So I have had the Foodsaver VS0150 for a little over 2 months and have now missed the return date for Amazon. A week ago the Foodsaver Jar Sealer kit was back in stock so I ordered it.
The tubing does not fit the Accessory port hole on my Foodsaver so I am unable to use it and this was the only reason for purchasing the Foodsaver to begin with. I have missed the return date for Amazon and now cannot return the Foodsaver.
I wish I had read the reviews because so many people were complaining of the exact same thing, that the tubing does not fit the accessory port. The seller on Amazon says all the tubing for Foodsavers are the same size and should fit the accessory port but they are obviously mistaken because it clearly does not fit and many others have stated the same.
I am extremely disappointed as I have wasted money on a product I cannot use and can no longer return.
gordon f. : THE HEAT SEAL MODE DOES NOT WORK EFFECTIVELY.
I NEED TO RETURN THIS ITEM. I BOUGHT IT AS GIFT AND WAS NOT GIVEN TO INDIVIDUAL UNTIL ST. PATRICKS DAY. THIS IS SECOND TIME PRUCHASED, THE FIRST WAS ARRIVED BROKEN, RETURNED FOR CREDIT, AND REPLACED, NOW THIS ITEM, WILL NOT SEAL THE BAGS, THEY PULL OPEN WITH NO EFFORT. PLEASE SEND ME RETURN FOR CREDIT ON THIS ITEM REGARDS, GORDON FLINT
R. Prevette : Perfect!
Originally, I ordered a cheaper off brand version on this item but was severely disappointed. Save yourself the headache and get the best. This vacuum sealer is so great. It works really well! I use it for freezing meats and saving my extra Color Street Nails!
Amazon Customer : Quality control
Broken out of the box, the power cord was loose, and only got power when I held it in place. Got a replacement which also didn't power up.
Leslie Bartlett : WON'T CLOSE
After first foodsaver didn't close we received a replacement which won't close either. What a piece of junk.Save your insanity don't order this item.

Mary C. : Difficult to use
As several other commenters have stated, it is almost impossible to close the cover on this sealer so that you can use it. My husband can close it with extreme difficulty. I cannot close it at all. We have returned this item. It should not be that hard to use.
CT Tiger : Not much power
I bought this as a replacement for an older model. The suction power is far less than my other machine. Also, as others have stated, it is very hard to close. It works, kind of, so I'll keep it, but would not buy again
Star Tiera : This is a flawed model????????☠️
Must use super human strength to hold down for sealing. It is completely defective. DO NOT BUY????????????
Boymom4 : Wish I knew this before I bought it excess report does not work

Territru : Didn't Fit All Accessories as Touted
I bought a jar sealer that didn't work with my older model of FoodSaver with built in hose. Hose fit, but not enough suction to seal. I then bought this new FoodSaver that was supposed to fit all accessories. It didn't; the hole to plug in was different. My mom then got very sick and then died and I hadn't been able to get to the post office to send back. Since too late to send back, guess I will go ahead and use other function to seal bags after removing air and toss my old one.
mjcali : Nope.
Nope. I used it once and returned it. I like the brand, the machine works well but doesnt have a lock on it. You need to keep pressure on it when its in vacuum and seal mode.
Robert A Little : Don’t buy this thing!
I bought this food saver 4-25-21, today was the first day I had time to try it out and as soon as I plugged it in nothing happened. No lights came on even after pressing buttons it still wouldn’t turn on. I am DEEPLY disappointed in this machine as the one I used before I had for 5 yrs before it died.
Doug Kennedy : Save your money
Save your money don’t buy food saver product is horrible figured I would buy a brand that I see everywhere of course It’s the worst
g$ : Wouldn’t turn on straight out of box
Wouldn’t turn on. Plugged into 4 different outlets, walls and extension - light wouldn’t turn on. Device doesn’t work. This return and replace costs me time and it is disappointing. Might update once working device comes but bummer.
****UPDATE***** REPLACEMENT DEVICE DID NOT WORK EITHER -- SAME ISSUE. NO LIGHT TURN ON WHEN I PLUG-IN & TRIED MULTIPLE LOCATIONS WITH OTHER WORKING DEVICES PLUGGED IN
M. W. : Works great, looks nice
I tried a few of the knock off brands first but in the end they did not work. So I ordered this one on sale and I just shoukd have gotten it in the first place. The quality matters in a food sealer, and they did a great job on this new one. Worka great and doesn't look out of place in my tiny kitchen.
Lesa M. Richardson was : Food sealer not working
This is the second foodsaverthat is not working no lights on and this was the replacement
Conand : So far, so good
It works as it's supposed to. As everyone says, be sure to push really hard on each front corner to hear the latch click shut on each side. Once latched, it works as it should. If I use it a lot, I'll probably go for the one that holds the bag roll. But if you have minimum counter space, this one is good.
J S : Irked; RETURNED
I should have read the negative reviews about how the hose attachment does NOT fit in the accessory hole. I am not sure what attachment does fit??? but I returned it. I want my current / older foodsaver hose and accessories to work with a new one, and I need a new one because the vacuum and seal function on my current / older foodsaver no longer works (only the accessory hose attachment works).
Amanda Raines : If you don’t think it works, call them to help!
Purchased and received Foodsaver within 4 days after ordering which to me is fine especially with delays going on. We have a doorbell security camera and I received notification from the security that motion detection was occurring so naturally I looked at footage and saw UPS delivery man doing what I call a “toss slide delivery “ onto our front porch that has 4 very wide steps to walk to porch to get to front door. My first thought was “ I hope he didn’t damage it “. So I got home picked up the package, took it in house and out off the box, read user manual, plugged it up and it wouldn’t turn on. I called the company that we purchased from and told them everything I’m currently typing and they sent a new one and we sent the 1st one back. The second one we got worked fine. It’s beeN 2 months and still works great!
MamaJ : Accessory port doesn’t work for jar sealer
We’ll that was sad…. This has an accessory port but it doesn’t fit the accessory tube from my last food saver sealer. If I look for the jar sealer accessory those are the same, but this port doesn’t work for them.
Also, have to press down hard on both sides of machine to lock it…. There’s a locking button on each side but you can’t lock them both at once. Extra steps not appreciated
