Answer: Not something I have done. But, since they can be used to cook food by placing the bag in boiling water, you would be able to pour boiling water inside the bag as well, yes.

I wanted these to work so bad so I could seal without breaking out the seal a meal. They were difficult to suck the air out and when it appeared I was successful when I went back after a few hours air was back in the bag. Ultimately I did return these. :(

Works well for freezing foods and for sous vide cooking. The clips it comes with to help seal the bags work well, but aren’t really necessary for me. I use the handheld food saver vacuum.
Sunshine Mel : Great solution for sous vide cooking
When I first began doing sous vide I was using my food sealer and felt like it was going to be expensive to keep on using those bags. So I got these ones and wow, so easy and resuseable. It works quickly and are easy to clean. I'm so glad I got these. I can prepare the food in them for the next couple of days and then to make dinner I just put the bagged meal into the sous vide cooker. Awesome.

I love the original kit with vacuum and bags so I needed more. These are the same brand but much harder to use vacuum on them. I ended up having to crunch the part of the bag where the vacuum goes in my hands and bend it in different ways before it worked like the other ones I have. Maybe just this batch is like that but once you've got them working they are great. Hold suction and I love them so much when I buy frozen food I transfer them into these bags and the food seems to taste better than if you kept stuff in original bag.

Sometimes, I don't want to use a whole avocado, and I want to keep it fresh for next time. Oxygen is the enemy and these bags do a GREAT job of keeping oxygen out. The picture is of an avocado that had been sitting in a reused bag for three days. I took this picture as part of a recipe post on my website.
The bags can be washed and reused and that's a wonderful thing if you want to reduce plastic. Yes, they are plastic, but since I used mine many times before I toss them, I'm still using a lot less plastic than normal AND keeping my food fresh at the same time.
Getting a good seal requires you to first remove as much as you can then laying the bag on the counter and running your finger up and down the seal a few times to make sure it is COMPLETELY closed. Then you can use the sealer until it's finished. You can tell you have a good seal when the machine makes a special wining noise.
