It works really well however, having to pull it out and plug it in Everytime I need to reseal a bag. It was also easy to use. I am sadden to say the very first time I have use this item and only heat sealing 3 heat seal bags when I was done with it, I went to to go and put it in the lock position and it popped a loud bang and it was no longer a product that I could reused. Very disappointed in the product I actually after only one use I had to toss it in the garbage. This was a definite waste of money. I recommend that this product be recalled to the manufacture of this product. It is not safe to be around at all the heat that comes from it could potentially start a fire.

I like this better than other heat sealers I’ve had in the past. It’s like a tiny little flatiron: the key to getting a good seal is simply patience. I let it heat for about a minute and got a nice, tight seal (cereal package, so waxed paper) I’m about 15 seconds. You do have to hold it on the bag, but with the relatively large heating element it’s much easier to use than the tiny little handheld kind where you have to keep sliding it over the bag to get a seal.

I have used my heat sealer about 5 times. When I went to use it today, the red heat light would not stay on. The connection between the cord and the sealer was not staying connected. It then started smoking so I shut it off altogether. I see that my window to return it is about 5 days off. I will not buy this brand again.

Works ok takes a while to seal

The is a very basic heating iron; very similar to curling iron that heats up quickly. But there is no way of controlling the temperature. It would get crazy hot and burn the bags. A chart of how long to heat the sealer and to press would make it easier for the consumers. Temperature control like curling iron would be much better.

Heating up for 1 min then press probably would only work on very thin plastic bags but I don't have those bags. I heat it up for 1.5 to 2 minutes and press for 3-5 seconds and it works that way. However, it would become difficult to control the temperature after the first few press.

Update: I used the sealer to seal an opened coffee bag successfully. I was able to vacuum it too.
