This heater sealer is exactly what I wanted. It crimps and seals cellophane bags that I put candy in. I love the fact that it plugs in and I don't have to mess around with batteries.

I purchased this as a way to seal small packages before applying heat to shrinkwrap. The first one died within the first few days of usage. The replacement just died 30 minutes ago. Basically stuck with a defective item now as the return window closed April 13th. The design is nice. Functionality is subpar. It heats up well as expected, but same as the original the little red light just goes away at some point and you're left with whatever heat is within the plates already. Letting it cool down is not an option. It's just non-responsive. You can power it on/off and lock it. No indication of over heating or damage. Just piqued with the choice and subsequent experience。

I like this better than other heat sealers I’ve had in the past. It’s like a tiny little flatiron: the key to getting a good seal is simply patience. I let it heat for about a minute and got a nice, tight seal (cereal package, so waxed paper) I’m about 15 seconds. You do have to hold it on the bag, but with the relatively large heating element it’s much easier to use than the tiny little handheld kind where you have to keep sliding it over the bag to get a seal.

I am sadden to say the very first time I have use this item and only heat sealing 3 heat seal bags when I was done with it, I went to to go and put it in the lock position and it popped a loud bang and it was no longer a product that I could reused. Very disappointed in the product I actually after only one use I had to toss it in the garbage. This was a definite waste of money. I recommend that this product be recalled to the manufacture of this product. It is not safe to be around at all the heat that comes from it could potentially start a fire.
