Why do your numbers not match that of the corresponding WT's on Orvis's website?

Answer: The numbers on Amazon are more true to size. For example, a 7wt. doesnt fit very well on the III and a 5wt. doesnt fit very well on a II. Orvis put this listing up on Amazon and on their site in January. There will always be some discrepancies.

On the 9/11 what type of line is it prespooled with

Answer: The reel was empty! I spooled it with Dacron backing and Scientific Anglers double taper mastery line! Great combination

Answer: There is no pre-spooled line to my knowledge.

Answer: None that I am aware of. You would probably need to talk to Orvis customer service directly to see if they offer to fill your real with backing and fly line upon order. Most likely this may limit you to a Orvis brand of fly line and backing.

Are spools still interchangeable and can be purhased separately on this model?

Answer: Yes, the new Orvis Hydros reel has interchangeable spools, the spools can be purchased separately though we do not currently sell the extra spools ourselves.

Orivs makes a hydros reel and a hydros sl reel. the spare spools are not interchangeable. are these sl spools or standard ?

Answer: The SL spools are not interchangeable with the new version that was released in 2020.

What is the warranty

Answer: Hi there, We warranty our reels against defects in materials and workmanship. The Orvis lifetime warranty does not cover accidental breakage, breakage from abuse, or excessive wear and tear. You can send your reel to Orvis for evaluation. You will be charged a $30 (£20) fee for reel service, which includes cleaning, lubrication, and return shipping. For reels repaired for defects in material or workmanship, you will not be charged. If you have any questions about the operation and maintenance of your new reel, Orvis Technical Advisors are always available. Email: Misc-Repair@orvis.com. Phone: 1-800-548-9548.

Answer: Yes, this reel can be used in saltwater!

Answer: Absolutely. It is anodized for saltwater use.

Does this reel come spooled with backing and floating line?

Answer: No, this reel does not come specifically with backing or floating line. If you let us know prior to purchase we can spool up some backing for you so it's good to go.

Answer: No. This is only for the reel. The backing and line are just for visual example only for when the reel in loaded.

Answer: The Orvis fly fishing reels are all interchangeable from left or right hand using the included instructions. They should be setup for left hand retrieve by default!

Answer: Yes. The Orvis hydros large arbor is a left hand retrieve. That’s the standard way from the manufacturer. Beautiful real but didn’t get to try it yet since our Florida trip had to be canceled.

Answer: Can be right or left. They come out of the factory left handed.

Is this the hydros sl v?

Answer: Just select a size and color. The V is one of the options.
