can I seal more than one bag at a time in this chamber?

Answer: Bar is about a foot wide, most bags are over 6 inches. It might be possible. I think the 320 is designed for multiple bags as it has multiple seal bars.

Answer: Mine came with about 25 bags of various sizes. But i had already ordered thousands from another website

Answer: Lid is domed, bottom is dished. Maximum Depth is approximately 5 5/16”. You can lay 1 quart Mason jars on their side and seal.

is there a misprint, description here states this product has 1/4" pump. the vp 230 from vacmaster has a 1/2'filled pump, maintenance kit and bags?

Answer: The 230 is 1/2 hp.

Does this machine come with marinade option?

Answer: You can definitely marinate with this machine the amount of marinade you put in in the size bag as well and make a difference you just have to make sure that the liquid doesn’t drip into the chamber.

Answer: yes, the sealing time is adjustable on the VP230.

Answer: It does come with oil but but please do you need to replace it when it turns white also we’ve been using ours for several months of high use and oil still doing well

Can this unit handle sealing mylar bags

Answer: Not sure, never tried it. If it works on any other vacuum sealer, then I'm sure it will work on the VP230. The VP230 has two seal lines to ensure proper sealing.

Answer: Not sure I haven’t used them. I would certainly think so. Just adjust seal time. We love our sealer.

$1200 bucks is very expensive, are there any videos showing how this thing works?

Answer: Yes! I own one and it has both. Wonderful product. Hard to get parts for it.

Answer: Bigger oil filled pump. Can take continuous use while processing meats.

Answer: No! No issues With thickness, but length would be an issue. (I smoke packers all the time).

Answer: I got taken on the price also! I was in a hurry and failed to shop around.

Answer: It comes with one which is sll you need.

Answer: The 230 is 1/2 HP. This machine is a beast. In 2 weeks we’ve sealed hundreds of bags! We go non stop for as long as an hour at a time. No issues keeping up.

Someone said quart size jars must be laid down and sealed. How about pint sized jars, can they stand upright inside the chamber?

Answer: I do believe as long as they can stand up while it’s close it’s fine everything else needs to be laying flat it’s all a matter of trial and error and your jars

Answer: I believe they said that because big jars wont fit standing up. Pint jars would fit standing up, I think they are only 5 inches high (But they will only fit in the central area of the dome.)

Answer: No, 1/2 gallon jars will not fit inside the chamber.

Just buy lots of bags so you don't have to think about it again.
When they are in stock on VacMaster, this is the best -large bag- deal I could find:

6 cents a bag.

You can re-use bags if you set the heat low enough to seal the bag but its still easy enough to rip back open with your hands. Just seal a little lower on the bag next time. Bigger bag will last for more seals. I put small items in big bags, because all I have is 3000 large bags.

You don't want to suck boiling moisture into the pump, I hear it makes you need a oil change sooner. To stop the pump to marinate something, turn the power off when you see the marinade start to boil. Wait a while, turn the power back on to release pressure.

If you vac-seal bread, say goodbye to your bread. Hard to gauge the right level of vacuum for different items.

This was a fantastic purchase. We struggled with traditional vacuum sealers; items with liquid, overheating of sealer when doing more than 2 bags in row, seals breaking, expensive bags. With the regular vacuum sealers, we needed double seals on all items, which caused the sealer to overheat and took a long time.

This unit is fantastic! Even with liquids. Put it in the chamber and it comes out perfect!

I have the VP230 for almost a month and I continue to find new ways to use it. The instant marinade works great, especially for game meat. Compressed melon turned out better than expected, I added a little watermelon vodka with watermelon slices and it looks like sushi and taste is more flavorful. I did find out the hard way on warmish liquids, you'll absolutely want to cool liquid based foods and not overfill your bags. I'm looking forward to using it for many years to come. One note on delivery, It's packed very good but to my surprise on side was slightly dented, not enough affect use or to return.

I bought one of these a couple of years ago and I use it several times a week. Every time I use it I'm glad I bought it. It's a lot of money for a vacuum sealer, but I don't know that I ever bought something that made me so glad I spent the money to get the best. As a market gardener / homesteader kind of person, I'm contantly putting away food to freeze, packing dried fruit or vacuum packing food for storage. This machine just makes it a breeze. It's built like a tank and all automatic once you get it set. Once you have a unit like this you find all sorts of uses for it. I marinate eggplant by putting it in the chamber in a flat dish full of the liquid marinade, then pulling a hard vacuum, it sucks the marinade in instantly instead of having to wait for hours, meat I just seal in a bag with the marinade. I can vacuum seal quart jars by putting them in the chamber, and it works great for putting up freeze dried food from my freeze dryer using mylar bags. The 3 mil mylar bags seal just fine, the 7 mil bags need an extra seal from an impulse sealer, but it saves having to use oxygen absorbers in the bags.

The bottom line is this is a quality unit I expect to last for many years and a real pleasure to use. Recommended.

I smoke a lot of meat and this thing is great for packaging up everything from pulled pork to snack sticks, best part is that unlike the foodsavers once I close the lid I can go prep the next bag without worrying about liquids getting sucked up into the pump.

Solid machine so far. Well worth the money for this almost 90lb beast. Easy to operate and pretty quiet on a whole. Much quieter than my sealer and does a way better job!

Built like an M1A2 Abrams Tank. Super HEAVY DUTY. You will get tired waaay before it will. Bags are INEXPENSIVE too. Freeze dryer is next on the list. Will make my own MREs... no more frozen storage and no more wasted food.

Very heavy .. had to buy a cart to handle the weight.
Instructions are Vague .... nothing was said about the tape on the sealing bar .. I took the tape off ... it has to have the Tape on the bar ... the tape looked like it was there for shipping.. instructions didn’t say anything about the tape on bar ...had to spend more money to replace the Tape. No extra tape was sent with package... after receiving the tape it does work great !
