What is the best size jig weight to start with?
Answer: Great question! The 3/8 oz and 1/2 oz are the best jig size to start with for bass fishing. These two sizes are the most versatile and most common for bass fishing and both sizes work very well in almost all situations. Happy Fishing!
Answer: I would recommend 3/8. That way you have a bit smaller presentation but still can add a trailer like a rage craw. I have just always gotten more bites with the smaller lighter jigs so I stick with 3/8 only.

Will the Berkeley power chunk pair well with this?
Answer: The screw lock is right by the head and it has a good size hook which works like a swimbait belly hook. These work great with full size beaver or creature style baits. Like a Berkley Pitboss, Googan Bandito Bug or Zoom Brush jog. The only way I see to use a chunk would be to nose hook it and that would defeat the totally weedless application.

I am known as a bottom angler and this jig is my favorite. The design of this awesome, and my hook sets are very high. Just wait a second before setting hook, watch for the line to move then boom! I have used just about everything you can imagine for bottom fishing, even came up with my own stuff, and this gamechanger is the best jig I have used. Love them. I will primarily buy these jigs for now on, period. Fish in my pic is one I caught in a kayak bass fishing tourney, I pulled it out from under a dock using a gamechanger jig and another from under a boat.

I like to try a lot of new lures, even though I know a lot of them are to "catch fishermen". Within 15 minutes of using this jig I hooked two large mouth bass and landed one. I used it around some heavy lily pads and it was very weedless, but didn't catch anything. Stopped at a local creek and worked the logs you can see in the pictures and almost instantly had a bite. One thing, this should be used with a STOUT jig rod! I was using a two-piece medium-heavy Ugly Stick and the first fish that bit was hooked for a second then came off. The second one (pic) I set the hook HARD and it was firmly set. I like this jig but I would say that hook-sets need to be much harder than on a standard jig with a weed guard. Also a round body bait would be easier to use with the jig than the flat body that I was using, I found it difficult to bury the tip of the hook in the body of the flat plastic. Over-all, I'll have a few of these in my box for heavy cover fishing.
