This was my first baitcast reel and let me tell you, it's incredible. Once I figured out how to properly tune it and cast it was a breeze and so smooth. I love everything about it. I only wish I had read up better on it since I was used to a spinner I ordered a right handed reel (because I'm right handed) but baitcasters sit on top of the rod so the reel is ON THE RIGHT SIDE. I have zero strength or control with my left hand. So I have to cast with my right hand, swap hands, hold the rod with my left hand and reel with my right. Contacting Lew's to see if I can exchange for lefty and if so, it's getting 5 stars all the way!

This reel casts longer and smoother than a reel twice it's price. Backlashes are nonexistent.

I ordered this reel believing it was made in America. Lews is reported to be an American company, what a disappointment to learn their products are made in China. There are more Chinese made products in America, than there are American made products. no thank you. I will keep this reel, just long enough to burn it. Other than that, it is a really nice reel. NOT!!!
