I am a Louisiana fisherwoman and love quality gear. This set is great and works well. It's easy to travel with and perfect for a day of fishing.

The quality is not good and the price is expensive.

Christine Marie : Opens like a reverse umbrella.

This thing is pretty cool. You pull the string with the red loop and it pulls the center up and it extends the legs just like an umbrella. Once the center pole gets to the top, it clicks into place. then you just push in the locking pin to close it back up. At the bottom of the trap is a release shoot, that is also made of netting. You just tie it, and once you pull the trap out, you untie it to release your catch out the bottom. My only concern is that the netting is kinda thin, so I am expecting to have to repair holes in the bottom from unexpected snags.

Used it once, trapped lots of bait fish but broke first time using it. This is actually the second one I’ve purchased in the last year because they don’t last. Netting is poor quality and tears from the frame from one use. Buy a minnow trap instead.

Although I harvest Bluegill with this product, I have purchased six of the previous version and two of the Upgrades.
The frame of the Upgrade is "beefier ", but it isn't much of an ⁸
improvement.
The product works very good; even caught a 5 lbs catfish in the old one. The new one collapsed.
Again, I am asking a lot more than it is designed for, so this is about the UPGRADE.
