This has to be the worst trap EVER! It floats away with any moving water. The blue claw crabs ate right through the mesh ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT.
I would definitely steer away from this.

I thought this bait trap was bigger and thick but it's not thick so I'm hoping no crabs or fish tends to get aggressive to get out the trap because they will get out. I'm gonna put it to the test and give another review for sure.

Best way to get food fir the table

Mrknot : Simple but effective trap.

Very lightweight crab/crawfish trap.
Assembles like an umbrella and packs down to a fairly small size.
Took it on my last canoe camping trip and used it to catch crawfish out of the lake.
It yielded enough crawfish to feed the two of us dinner one night.
Easy to set up. I used an empty soda bottle as a float.
Kind of a unique product.
Highly recommended.

This thing is pretty cool. You pull the string with the red loop and it pulls the center up and it extends the legs just like an umbrella. Once the center pole gets to the top, it clicks into place. then you just push in the locking pin to close it back up. At the bottom of the trap is a release shoot, that is also made of netting. You just tie it, and once you pull the trap out, you untie it to release your catch out the bottom. My only concern is that the netting is kinda thin, so I am expecting to have to repair holes in the bottom from unexpected snags.

This trap is decent and lightweight. Being collapsable takes up very little room.

However, there is no big main door to insert bait or remove catch. This is problematic, especially with crabs....

For those seeking a lightweight, minimal space trap to carry on a fishing cart or backpack this will do in a pinch.
