CodeMonkey : Good Foldable, Portable Trap

I wanted a more portable, easy to pack/ carry trap. This is compact, it opens up like a reverse umbrella from the top. The material is pretty thin, I think over time, it will tear. This trap works well for bait fish but it would be harder to use for crab, the bottom hole isn't too large and has to be tied. Also there is no case, it comes in a zipper lock plastic bag. It is very lightweight and easily portable.

I thought this bait trap was bigger and thick but it's not thick so I'm hoping no crabs or fish tends to get aggressive to get out the trap because they will get out. I'm gonna put it to the test and give another review for sure.

So I throw some hot dog or cheap small pellet fish food in the 6 compartments and sink it by the dock.

A few minutes later, It's loaded up with right size minnows and crayfish. I separate and grow the bass minnows in a 50gal aquarium to the chubby 12" length and release them into low bass, overpopulated bluegill fishing holes. That cycle takes less than 6 months ... bass grow crazy fast in the abundant fresh minnow food supply.

The bass feed minnows are a steady supply of fresh bass food. Aquarium raised bass are extreme carnivores ... a minnow in the bass tank is snapped up before they hit the water by these domestic piranha's.

Performance as expected. Fast and clean bait catch.

Pedskr : Disappointed

I have similar larger nets but ordered this one because of the size as there are some small streams that it would work perfect in. Took it outside just to check it out & immediately I had issues - no zipper to easily access interior, if that plastic zip lock bag is the carry case then I’ll take off another star lol & lastly the “twine” provided & used inside the net would/will be replaced by paracord or equivalent. It’s definitely lightweight & would pack easily on back of pack but no case so it won’t be traveling with me to test it out-nothing worse then branches catching in loops of a net when hiking out as I’m speaking from experience ????????‍♂️! With that in mind I can’t speak to durability or sturdiness as I won’t be testing in the field as planned. It will need weight to lock it down in any stream but without zipper that would be a pain at all leg locations & attempts to hang bait inside will be a pain & cant imagine attempting to retrieve fish or crustaceans through net openings.
Did catch a bunny that was dragging its hind legs across the street and worked great till animal control took him to the rehab center nearby. If I’d received what was actually described along with heavy twine/cord I’d change it to 4/5 star but at this price and what actually arrived I just can’t recommend to others to purchase unless you just want to introduce kids to it.
