Answer: The main difference between upgrades and classics is the appearance .Upgraded one( ABS), original (ordinary plastics).

Answer: I would t think so. Perhaps a seal a meal type thing for liquids.

Does it seals well mylar bags like it Supposed to ?

Answer: Work very well! Set the correct setting for bag thickness, press down until light goes out and release. Works perfectly for my 3 mil mylar bags. Caution, setting the temperature to high and it will melt all the way through.

-this is very convenient for me, most of the time we could not finish bag snacks and we just tied them up unfortunately it’s not as good as before. With this sealer, I can still preserve the quality of my snacks even after opening it.

Able to warm up fast
- you don’t have to wait that much when you plug it in a few seconds you’re ready. Sealing bags takes also a couple seconds then you’re done.

Room for improvement
- if they will be able to make the size smaller probably that would be best.

I bought this Item to use for closing mylar bags for long term food storage but when I tried to seal the bag the devise would shut off to soon for it to seal correctly. Now, if you want to use it to seal or reseal plastic bags it would do a good job on that type of product.

As long as you remember to wait a few seconds after the light goes off from the heating process, you'll be happy with this. I had thought it would seal and burn through enough that you can tear it off, but it doesn't. Once sealed, the shrink wrap bags I use have to be trimmed with scissors before sealing.

***UPDATE , I had to send back the replacement machine as well. This product melted after minutes of use. Rubber part worn completely. This product is cheap. The Material burns and sometime melts my nylon bags. It's not consistent at all. I have watched every YouTube video there was. I'm doing it right. Had to order a machine from a different manufacturer. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU WANT QUALITY SEALING FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN PAPER.

Awhile back, I purchased 2 rolls of material I could use in my FoodSaver machine. They didn't work, as the edges were too curled to place in the machine.
I used the Impulse sealer to make bags. It will be great for leftovers.
I also used the machine on a Cheetos bag, that worked perfectly also.

(Reviewing the 8")

We have a unit from a different company, but looks identical in every way. It's held up great for 10 years. The only things that wear out are the components - wire, teflon tape, silicone strip, etc. Those are easy to replace, as this is a fairly universal size. We use ours almost daily, and these components last us at least 3 years.

This unit works exactly as expected. There's only one setting - the dial for length. On 2-4 mil plastics, 2 seconds will seal but not cut, and 4-5 seconds will cut.

My only complaint is that other units come with 2 types of wires - a thin cutting wire, and a thick wire for sealing. It does come with a kit with a replacement wire & tape. However, if you're just cutting a seal, I think the thick wire cuts are a little sloppy. You can order a thin wire to go with your unit, or just find a competitor that offers a unit with the thin wire.

Final tip - do not forget to remove the plastic before using.

I was able to melt over 500 bags for my project with this device! I do not understand the bad reviews because I was able to use it perfectly fine. I do suggest turning the heat at a 1 or a 2 when starting the project because you do not need a lot of heat to operate! Here is my tip: if the plastic melts and breaks, then you're turning it too high. The temperature is right when the plastic simply sticks to the other piece without any tears. Wonderful!
