Questions about Dr.Fish Soft Body Swimbait Paddle Tail Soft Plastic Bass Lure, 2-3/4 to 4-3/4 Inches, Shad Lure Texas Rig Drop Shot Lure
Q:
what size jig head works best with the 2.76 size Thx
Answer: 1/32 or a 1/16
Q:
How many come in the package?
Answer: It's pack of 6.
Answer: 6 to a pack
Q:
How do i set this up on my pole? I cant get it to swim right
Answer: I Use a egg lead on my main line to the swivel with a rapalla knot. Snell knot on the other end with a 6’ leader snelled to the hook. Typical Hawaiian whipping setup. I hook it through the upper and lower lip so it swims upright.
Answer: Use a weighted swim bait hook. Also use a loop knot
Answer: I use these as a drop bait. A number 1 drop shot hook through the nose. If I wanted to use them as a swimbait I would use a small jig head. Something like a crappie jig head would work. Hope this helps. Check out WSSFISHING for a similar Dr. FISH drop shot bait footage.
Answer: Use a 3/0 to 4/0 corkscrew nose weighted belly hook. It's action will catch the attention of any fish near by
Answer: I just ran a jig head through the "mouth" and then brought it up through the back
Q:
I am done with China! As such my lead off question will always be: Where is product made?
Answer: China
Answer: I don’t know but this bait will catch fish of all kinds.
Q:
Can you use them for crappie?
Answer: Yes you can but the smallest size I am aware of is about 2.75” I think this is a little large for typical crappie fishing
Answer: Depending on their size . Work great on small mouth bass
Answer: Yes.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Right sized jig head for 4” using 10lb test line?
Answer: I wouldn't recommend using a jig on this soft plastic, the inside is hollow with a silver reflective plast in the middle. Best results with this plastics is using a screw nose belly weight hook. But to answer your question yes it is 4 inches in length
Answer: YES!
Q:
What is the country of origin?
Answer: China
Answer: Chi-nah
Answer: Southwest Arizona
Answer: Need you ask
Q:
anyone catch rainbow trout with the 3.9 inch ? are they too big for em or would it work
Answer: This certainly wouldn't be my first choice for trout.
Q:
Mine did not have paddle tails out of package why to me its junk without
Answer: I would return it or contact manufacturer/seller
Q:
Does any of these glow in the dark?
Answer: No reflective material
Answer: No
Answer: No
Q:
Do these have hollow bodies?? What type of hook, and size of hooks should I rig it with?? Thanks...
Answer: They are a solid body but the rubber is soft enough to push a hook through. I used up to a 1/4 " jig head with a #2 hook for my set up.
Q:
How do you tie the shaky shad
Answer: I do a snell/clinch/uni knot to a hook and you can either just hook through the lip or run the hook through the head and come out the belly.
Answer: 3/0 hook with a corkscrew nose and belly weight
Q:
Dropshot recommended?
Answer: I've used this bait to drop-shot for Smallmouth and it worked very well the only thing that isn't very good as there's a piece of oil in it and the hook doesn't like seating very well in the bait but it is a strong plastic
Q:
I need swimbaits with absolutely no scent and no salt. do these have either scent or salt infused into them?
Answer: no scent or salt.
Answer: These have scent
Answer: I didn’t stick them in my mouth but they did come dry not immersed in some oil or fluids. They’re not too expensive and for the price do what they supposed to. Attract fish.
Q:
I'm fishing in the weeds, primarily for largemouth bass and pickerel.. what size hook should i use?? no jigs, or weights.. weedless..
Answer: Hi there. It is designed for bass, but turns out working well for crappie and perch too. #2 to 1/0 hooks are recommended.
Q:
Did not have a paddle tail, why
Answer: Mine had a paddle tail. They were a different color. They show yours as a paddle tail. They mention it in the description.
Answer:
Q:
How many
Answer: 6 in a pack
Answer: 6 in a pack.... They have a tinfoil embedded in the body for flash
Answer: I think 6. Haven't used them in quite some time, and they're scattered or lost.
Answer: Six
Q:
from where shipments are made? China?
Answer: Yes, and they are terrible. Their customer service sucked and there were suppose to send me more as the picture showed there was 12 baits and I only received 6. My second package I received was a square filter of some sort. Spend your money elsewhere is my advice.
Answer: It is fulfilled by Amazon. Sent from one of Amazon Fulfillment Center located in the states.
Product reviews of Dr.Fish Soft Body Swimbait Paddle Tail Soft Plastic Bass Lure, 2-3/4 to 4-3/4 Inches, Shad Lure Texas Rig Drop Shot Lure
steve grabowski : Color not accurate
Ordered chartreuse. Look nothing like the description. The coke is the main reason I bought it. Didn’t want solid puke yellow.
BW : Actual size
Item was much smaller than expected.
Bill R : OK
To soft for my liking.
Zack Meers : Fish lures need eyes
Poor product. The company did all that work to get the action pretty good and the color better than most but the “eyes” fall off every time. They are so cheap, it’s almost impossible to rig the lure with atleast one eye falling off.
GIBBER : great action
Great product life like action would buy again thanks
Illona Berecz : Good stuff
Fish like it
I like it
Thumbs-up ????
Obi Tuan Kenobi : Meh
Haven't caught anything on it.
Ben C. : Excellent size for trout
Seems to be a good bait caught a couple of trout on it as a trailer but have not had a chance to use it much I really like the mylar inside the belly
Javier Escobedo : The appearance
They look good but when inserting the hook they break because the internal ologram is not attached and the plastic only has a small union.
Cal : very realistic
Oh yeah. Bubba will love this one.
Eric R Schoenback : What I look for in soft plastic baits.
These seem to be made very well as for durability. I also ordered the shad ones as well. I've been fishing about 50 years. Besides durability which I judge by the soft plastic twist lock by the hooks eye. If I need to start it by inserting the hook 1st so I can screw it on, it's tough. Then I go by the eyes, which some fish do especially on shrimp lures that Striper's look for.
I don't know if I will have a chance before spring. I'll update this, I don't think that will be an issue. I'm outside Ocean City Md. This time of year it's better to go after TuTogs by the jetty and a few other locations Bayside.
David : Awesome product
Florida bass in my area absolutely destroy these on partly cloudy days when I set it up as a swim jig. I caught 10 bass in 30 mins on this thing with 3 of them being over 5lbs.
philip turano : ok
looks good
Illona Berecz : Good stuff
Fish like it
I like it
Thumbs-up ????
Wifeypoo : Eyes keep falling off
Eyes keep falling of after a few casts
Jeremy S : The product I received had already been fished with
No joke. Only 3 of the 6 lures were in the package, and all three had been used. One had its tail bitten off and there were a total of only 4 eyes. The seller actually accepted this as a return and sent it right back out to me.
Kristi : Ok price but quality lacking
Eyes fall off easily when trying to hook these. Also foil in belly is cool but is loose and will also fall out when rigging.
Bryan M. : Buy this product!
Great action.
Joseph B. : Pretty good
It's too expensive for what it is. It's a good minnow imitation, and has swimming action.
Richard : They work awesome second cast third cast every time I moved
A little expensive but well worth it
Nickie : Great for bass. Wears a bit fast due to void in design
I love this product. Works better than live minnows but wears a bit fast... I pair it with an offset shank hook and do a slow retrieve. The main issue I have with the design is where the silver belly part is because after a catches of any decent size bass rips the plastic lure open & rendering it useless. I wish the lining at that area was a bit thicker to compensate the void.
F. R. : Looks better in the picture than in real life...
Eyes fell off after a couple of casts and not sure what the foil imbedded in the middle of lure is for...
needs design improvement
Close to being a fish catcher but needs improvement!
Kind of a disappointment have not caught anything yet...
AARII : LURE
WELL MADE, REALISTIC LOOKING LURE
chris schmidt : No title
Not the greatest, not the worst either. Used with my son and they seem to not hold up like other swim baits i got. Color is nice, quality could be a little better ( fish in some rocky areas ).
Susan : Good action
These baits have good tail action & the foil inside looks like it will really catch the fishes eye. Can’t wait to try them!
Cal : very realistic
Oh yeah. Bubba will love this one.
John : Recommended
Nice kit nice plastics
William R Albright : The eyes pop off with you insert the hook
The eyes pop off when you insert the hook
Jeanie : Garbage
Worst plastics lure I have bought to date. After 2 cast, the silver reflector inside fell out of the lure. The lure made of a very thin plastic and is hollow inside. Stay away from this cheap garbage
Harvey lemmings : The best lure I've ever used
I can't recommend this thing enough. I took it to my local pond and just caught bass after bass. Maybe 20 to 30 in a couple of hours. It's my go to from now on. Can be used with or without weight but I find it works best in the shallows or when the bass are closer to the top.
David : Awesome product
Florida bass in my area absolutely destroy these on partly cloudy days when I set it up as a swim jig. I caught 10 bass in 30 mins on this thing with 3 of them being over 5lbs.
Melchor M Famarato : Nice flexibility of bait, last longer
Best than any swimbaits
Jeremy S : The product I received had already been fished with
No joke. Only 3 of the 6 lures were in the package, and all three had been used. One had its tail bitten off and there were a total of only 4 eyes. The seller actually accepted this as a return and sent it right back out to me.
2AJimmy : Awesome swimmer
Great little swim bait, wish it was a little bit bigger, but I have been catching lots of 2lb to 3lb bass on this bait, has very good action when swimming through the water. Only thing that's wrong that they need to improve is the glue they use for the eyes, after a couple ours casting they eyes fall off, other than that it's great! Way cheaper than the realistic swim baits at bass pro shop
John : Recommended
Nice kit nice plastics
Lee V. : Great lures!
What I like about this product is that it looks like a minnow. The best part of it is the tail, it wiggles, even out of the water which means it'll wiggle even better in the water, but the only thing I kinda dislike is the bottom half part of the lure. Its kinda too see through could use a little bit more color cover up, just my preference, but I could see why its see through tho, because of the foil flash which is good on the days when you need that flash. Over all everything else, I say this is a very well made lure havent used it yet still waiting for water to rise and clear up and the crappies to start biting.
backtooldies : Great item????
This was exactly what I was looking for. I am setting up a fishing box for my grandson and this works out. I would recommend this product to everyone.
Jaime : Decent for the price
Not bad.
Ibuyalotofcrap : Very life-like
They are very life-like, but the eyes come off easy.
jonathan cooper : cheap
cheap
Melchor M Famarato : Nice flexibility of bait, last longer
Best than any swimbaits
tdab : Swimbait - 4.75 inch Green/Silver Foil - Pricey but effective
These came in a reasonable amount of time and are as expected. The bodies are fairly tough and I like the slot it the top of the bait (hook guide). I use these in a TX rig (.25oz bullet) with a 5/0 worm hook. Again they worked great. I caught several fish on the fist one and even though it is slightly chewed up now, it still works. For those of you saying the foil gets in the way of the hook.....take your time and do not rush it. There is plenty of body there to get the hook to one side of the foil. These are pricey but they do work great.
Loganlu14 : Looks amazing
Slays little bass, but the tail gets ripped off very easy
Cal : very realistic
Oh yeah. Bubba will love this one.
Edward : Work well
They were exactly as described
Amazon Customer : well worth the money
redfish slammers
Tom : Look better than they are.
Extremely soft. Tear easy. Not caught a thing with them.
taznim : Value for money
It was a good buy...
Emily Fernandez : Very soft
The thing with theses baits are they rip easily and there not worth the amount u get and the price, but they do look nice In the water
Carrie : Good quality- color as shown
Excellent- I highly recommend these- really happy with the quality and color. They do swim well are easy to handle, low scent.
