Questions about BASSDASH Fly Fishing Flies Kit Fly Assortment Trout Bass Fishing with Fly Box, 36/64/72/76/80/96pcs with Dry/Wet Flies, Nymphs, Streamers, Popper
Q:
Which set is best for bass fly fishing? Thanks
Answer: Color: The assortment of "80 pcs assorted flies kit with waterproof fly box" works best for Bass fly fishing . thank you
Q:
Barbless trout fly collection ?
Answer: Thanks for considering Bassdash. The "76 pcs assorted trout flies kit with fly box" is not Barbless fly collection. The Barbless collection is out of stock currently and they will be in stock next month. Please stay tuned.
Q:
do you sell an Orvis fly fishing manual?
Answer: No!
Q:
Does this come with wooly buggers, and is it good for river fishing in the northeast?
Answer: Thanks for considering Bassdash. The flies assortment ("64 pcs assorted flies kit with magnetic fly box") has wooly buggers. Kindly please check the third and the fourth pictures for detailed fly patterns and hook sizes. The hook sizes in this assortment ranges from size 4 to size 12.
Answer: All of these flies are small. I think the largest is a size 14 scud imitation. There are no woolly buggers and they aren’t high quality. But for the price they are great for winter fishing since most of the flies are Midge imitations. If you want to prospect a river these are great, it won’t break your heart when you lose some to rocks and hazards. Mostly these go in my small creek winter fly box
Q:
What is the weight of these flies?
Answer: They range in sizes. From dry an wet or the jig heads
Q:
Is this product made in USA?
Answer: These are made in China with strict quality control, and our flies have been improved with some special tight knots and what's more the knots are coated with clear epoxy to avoid them to fall apart easily in the water.
Q:
Are there dry flies in this kit?
Answer: Thanks for considering Bassdash. The flies in the flies assortment "76 pcs assorted trout flies kit with fly box" are not all dry flies. There are also wet flies in the assortment.
Answer: Yes, quite a few dry flies-I purchased special powder to keep them dry in the water
Answer: Yes. There are a few different ones, elk hair is one of my favourites.
Q:
I never received this item what do i do now
Answer: Ask Amazon.
Q:
Are these barbed?
Answer: Yes. Small but still barbed.
Answer: No they are not but they are very tiny.
Q:
can we order only #12 , because the kit comes on diferent numbers ?
Answer: I'm sorry that each flies assortment has been packed well and in the Amazon storehouse so you can not choose the hook size in a certain assorment.
Q:
Do the dry flies stay afloat in turbulent water?
Answer: We usually carry floatant to help dry flies ride the often turbulent water. Bushy dry flies work best in turbulent water and will stay afloat. And I suggest in fast, turbulent water use a bigger size and on smooth glides use a smaller size.
Answer: Yes, but when in long drifts, floatants are suggested and floatants are in the form of powder or gel or spray etc. But don't use it on every dry fly, our team had some instances where the sinking dry fly caught us more fish.
Q:
The dry flies float well?
Answer: Yes, I can often fish for hours with the same fly. And then you need to wipe it dry or air dry it. These flies are pretty good for the price.
Q:
Best barbless collection?
Answer: I dont know if I would say best, but they are very good for the price an the selection is great. I had a blast catching trout with mine.
Answer: no
Q:
Do these flies come apart easily?
Answer: Not so far. If you have it too many casts, few of them might because they are hand made.
Q:
New fisherwoman. are the dry flies in the 80 pack desgined to float? i dont mond using floatant but id like some designed to float in the first place
Answer: Look at the images of what's in all their other #'d variety packs they have. Prob the only ones to float in the 80 pack are the poppers. They have some pretty decent flys, but they dont have too many true dry flys in their variety packs. One of their 64 packs does have a of couple drys, but the other 64 pack doesn't. Just look at the images and names of what's included.
Answer: Thanks for considering Bassdash. The dry flies in the assortment "80 pcs assorted flies kit with waterproof fly box" will float. Nymphs tied with a bead will never float. Bushy, natural materials like hare's ear dubbing float well and a little hen hackle is a real plus. Apply a little bit of floatant to the nymph to keep it dry and it will float well.
Answer: I purchased the flies as a gift for a friend -the manufacturer recommended the floatent so I am not sure wether they float without it or not .
Answer: Yes. I used them this past summer.
Answer: Use Gink!
Q:
where do I find a description of the flies?
Answer: Hi, each flies are presented and described in the third main photo. Kindly please check. ^^
Answer: There a large variety of flies in this package. Unfortunately they are poorly made and fall apart almost instantly in the water.
Answer: What you see in the picture is what you get. All of these patterns are producers for fresh water species.
Q:
Where are these made?
Answer: The package indicates China, the same country that probably made any Orvis, Daiwa or some other famous brands you may own. The quality and design is outstanding for the price. Almost all but the most expensive flies are currently made in China. This is not a bad reflection on quality it simply makes them affordable.
Answer: These are made in China with strict quality control.
Answer: Daiwa is Japanese ..lol
Product reviews of BASSDASH Fly Fishing Flies Kit Fly Assortment Trout Bass Fishing with Fly Box, 36/64/72/76/80/96pcs with Dry/Wet Flies, Nymphs, Streamers, Popper
Amber Snell : Well tied
Better quality than some of the other famous names. Sat in the surface film perfectly - despite very sunny conditions it took two trout.
jacoby owens : Nice assortment
Love the case the flies came in.
ray : bugs bugs
I really like the bead heads. should catch fish.
Daniel E. : Worthy of the price!
Have all flies to start with, love them!
Alex K : Mostly garbage
First off, the craftsmanship (if you can call it that) is abysmal for many of the fly types. Asymmetrical with missing wings. Skimpy looking things. Then you have wet flies made with plastic heads. Nymphs that won't sink. The streamers start coming apart before they even hit the water. Maybe a dozen of the flies are decent looking and hold together after being chomped on by a fish or two.
I was an idiot for expecting better quality at around 37 cents per fly.
Ken : Convenient
Very light & compact. Easy to use
Bryan : Must apply head cement!
The fly patterns work well. The box is very nice. The big problem is I had the apply head cement to all the fly's. After a few cast I noticed that they were coming untied. For the $ it's worth a little work.
Lawton T Grant : Quality is not great
Quality is not good. The magnetic clasp came out the 3rd time I opened it.
Amazon Customer : Nice assortment of flys, box broken and is on the cheap end
Like the flys, not so thrilled with the box, as it arrived broken, hence the 4 stars vs 5! Seems like very cheap plastic case but still usable. Would appreciate a replacement if company reads and acknowledges this message.
B. Drew : I am terrible at fishing - but caught one with this!
I have no clue what I'm doing with a fly reel. This case (magnetic) is pretty cool and the flies look convincing to me. I have a little pond outside and the red one caught me a fish on the first try. Luck? Who knows but I am terrible at fishing and got a bite, so I'm happy.
Sandstone : Nice Assortment
Trying a few out next week. Great assortment of styles.
Theresa D. : Irresistible to Fish, Strong
Easy to handle and store, looks realistic. Excellent flies to use as an indicator as well as attractor. Trout eat em up!!! I fly fish in New York and Pa., streams and creeks and the flies just have worked everywhere I fish.
Delta Bird Watcher : Perfect for beginners/practice
This is a perfect set for beginners since it’s cheap and inexpensive. It’s perfect for practicing different presentations since their 4 of each. They’re cheaply made so after a few weeks I’ve already run through a couple of each flies just because of the bass/panfish I’ve been practicing on. It’s a great set.
Amber Snell : Well tied
Better quality than some of the other famous names. Sat in the surface film perfectly - despite very sunny conditions it took two trout.
John : Streamers Fall to Pieces Quickly, Dries Aren't Much Better
My first flies were a ~$10 set of about ten dries off discount rack at Dunham's Sports at the mall. Looking back, those files did, and still do, hold up unbelievably well for where I got them and what they cost. Maybe it was a fluke. In any case, all that came with was dries, and I bought this set to expand what I could fish.
I cannot recommend this fly set, at least for the flies. If you are looking for something to learn on, find a cheaper starter set, if you know you will use them, find something better.
The Dries held up alright, though not as well as the discount rack ones. The didn't fall apart right away, but after a couple of fish, they were already coming apart.
The streamers/buggers though are complete garbage. I went through four before I just stopped using them. One fell apart just casting it -- no weeds, no snags, no nothing. The act of casting it and stripping it through the water cause it to fall apart. And it was only a handful of casts. The others either snagged or caught weeds, and after freed/cleaned off, the streamers were already coming apart. A few more casts, and they had completely come apart. Not one fish, an hours use each at most, and they had completely failed.
Not sure if mine were a fluke or not, because others here are suggesting the flies are well tied, but I regret not having spent the money getting better flies from a quality fly source. Last time I buy flies on Amazon.
Mrs Virginia Dumlao : fly fishing kit
this was a gift therefore , I do not know. I am assuming it was ok but cannot honestly say.
Amazon Customer : Buenos
Buenos para precio
Ken : Convenient
Very light & compact. Easy to use
jackchao : Excellent general service and the flies are nicely made
All flies nicely tied. I cannot rate this fly highly enough particularly if used in the evening / dusk. I have caught numerous times with it and even risen fish with it when none were rising. There was a problem with the order but, despite it being a relatively small issue, the company have bent over backwards to sort it out. Excellent customer service and highly recommended.
Charles : Nice selection
Good flies, but not great. Good value for money.
Lawton T Grant : Quality is not great
Quality is not good. The magnetic clasp came out the 3rd time I opened it.
Theresa D. : Irresistible to Fish, Strong
Easy to handle and store, looks realistic. Excellent flies to use as an indicator as well as attractor. Trout eat em up!!! I fly fish in New York and Pa., streams and creeks and the flies just have worked everywhere I fish.
ChillyPhilly : Used a few on a recent trip to Northern Wyoming
Cutthroats were loving the ones I used and I have plenty to keep trying. I'll update my review with any new information from future trips.
Amazon Customer : Decent
Pretty good for the price i would buy again
Jarvan feng : Well tied and very reasonably priced
Why mess around getting frustrated try to tie tiny flies. These are excellent for the price. Survey the water, see what's hatching, it seems to work very effective in bringing up the fish.
Bear vandergoot : Great price
Looks great, soon I will be trying them.
Kenny : What I expected for the price
Cheap Chinese made lures. Two of them fell apart within a half-hour of just casting. Considering the price for all these lures you get it isn’t a bad deal. In my opinion though it seems It’s worth it to pay more money for better lures.
Tyler : Great
Very good assortment.
Chris : Great deal
Loved the box an the assortment of flys.
C. Carving : Good flies for beginners but wrong hook size
I'm new to fly fishing so I thought a large number of flies for a decent price would be a good fit (so I"m not kicking myself when I lose them to a snap or a snag). This bundle of flies does just that and there are several varieties and sizes. The box is pretty solid and appears to be waterproof. I gave a 4 star rating because the poppers are closer to a size 10, not a size 6 (as you can see in my picture).
Bhinz : Tie quality of flies
The quality is not good. The tie of the flies are coming undone. Tried 6 flies same stuff
Bob H. : Assortment
Varied assortment.
Amber Snell : Well tied
Better quality than some of the other famous names. Sat in the surface film perfectly - despite very sunny conditions it took two trout.
John : Streamers Fall to Pieces Quickly, Dries Aren't Much Better

kris copeland : good fly product
Looks like a good product haven't used them yet but going to tomorrow
Ed b. : any one of these fly patterns will catch fish enjoy them they r worth the money paid
nothing to dislike they catch fish
Brady Leonberger : It works good for cheap flies
Just like any cheap lot of flies. Nice set to get out and fish, but the flies do seem to fall apart after a couple uses.
Ronnie Harner : Just as expected
Great products and you cannot
Louis F. : As promised
As promised
Gavon Van : They Don't FLOAT
yes these are beautiful midge flies. To me they do look exactly as pictured. They look very durable. And I believe I will catch many small panfish and trout with them in the future. I wanted to take this moment to clarify to anyone who may be like myself was wondering if they float. The answer is no. They sink very quickly to the bottom. Still there are many species of fish that will devour these without hesitation and the fact that they sink may increase your chances when fly fishing for picky or well educated fish like trout or salmon. All in all a very good purchase. Don't hesitate to buy this product. It's well worth it.
Amazon Customer : Decent
Pretty good for the price i would buy again
Lyn j Aevermann : thanks
Nice
Amazon Customer : Fish like em.
Lower quality flies but they catch fish.
B. Drew : I am terrible at fishing - but caught one with this!

I used the yellow and red poppers for some delicious stocked trout up here in alaska!
