Questions about Daiwa Exceler LT Left/Right Hand Spinning Fishing Reel
Q:
what is the real weight of the reel?
Answer: 7 oz.
Q:
Can this use braided line?
Answer: Yes. I’d suggest putting on a fluorocarbon “backer” first and then top it off with braided line that you tie directly to the fluorocarbon. This is what I see done most often.
Answer: Yes it can but make sure you tape braid to the spool on your first loop or the line will spin on the spool
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is the msrp $79.99?
Q:
Is this a 1000 size reels? the description does not give the size
Answer: I ordered the reel. Mine is a Exceler LT 2500 with 5.3:1. Love it.
Answer: 2500
Q:
How do i move my handle to lefl hand side? Mine will not go on the left but easily went on the right side.
Answer: Make sure the reverse switch is off. Then you should be able to unscrew the handle and remove it. Unscrew the cap on the other side and that will allow you to place the handle on that side. Screw the cap on the opposite side of the handle.
Q:
how many lbs is the test line?
Answer: I wouldn't anything higher than 8lb test if you're using monofilament. It's going to jump off the spool any higher
Answer: 12 lb
Q:
edi este carrete y en el seguimiento me sale que entregado y aun no he recibido nada al parecer este vendedor es un fraude total
Q:
Whay is the gear ratio on this reel? Is it 5.2.1 or 6.4.1
Answer: Mine that I ordered was a 5.2:1. Received it in August 2020.
Q:
What is the line capacity?
Answer: The 2500 line capacity is a follows:
Answer: On my 3000 I have about 220 yards of 12lb mono.
Q:
what is the weight of this item? product information says that 11.2 ounce, but if it is truly daiwa exceler Lt 2500 it should be 7.2 oz.
Answer: Box for the reel says 7.4 oz. but I don't have a scale to confirm that the reel is actually this weight.
Answer: 7.2 oz
Q:
What's the gear ratio?
Answer: 5.3 : 1
Q:
What is the country of origin?
Answer: Japanese reel manufactured in Vietnam. Very smooth reel out of box. Time will tell about longevity. This is the first Exceler I have owned. I own multiple Daiwa BGs, excellent reels, but on the heavy side. Wanted to add something lighter to my arsenal. I have always owned a few Shimanos, excellent reels. In my opinion you get more bang for your buck with Daiwa, but will always have Shimanos as well.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is this size one or 2500?
Answer: Its the 2500
Q:
Can I use this model For salt water fishing
Answer: It's Not Really Sealed Like a True Salt Water Reel but I Think you Can Use it in Salt Water. Just Be Sure to Rinse it Off Well afterwards. It May Not Last Long if Prolonged Use in Salt Water. Better to Invest in a Actual Salt Water Reel. Nice Reels Though for Fresh Water!
Answer: It isn't saltwater reel, but I use it occasionally in salt water. I always rinse it afterwards.
Answer: I would go with the Daiwa BG instead
Q:
Help, i can't get the handle onto the left side. It goes on easily on the right side.
Answer: its prolly reverse threads
Answer: Yes you can!!
Q:
What is the difference between the legalis lt vs exceler lt?
Answer: The Exceler has a screw in handle and the Legalis does not. It is the lowest price reel in their line up that offers this.
Q:
how big is this reel ?
Answer: Physically its about the size of the older 2000 size Exceller series. But it holds more line (the "D" in the model name indicates deep spool") than the older models
Product reviews of Daiwa Exceler LT Left/Right Hand Spinning Fishing Reel
John in Lakeview NY : So well made
A pleasure to use. Very high quality. Love it
M. Carpenter : Freshwater fishing
I fished extensively with a Daiwa Revros fishing reel. I thought it was the greatest until I stepped up to the Exceler. This is a bargain at under $100. It's smooth and light with an exceptional drag. This reel absolutely blows the less expensive Revros away.
gary n payne : Buy more
This is an excellent fishing reel I will purchase another one or two

Bojan : Light
The reel is light, and well made. There is odd sound once the spool reach bottom part, however it doesn't affect the performance.
John Snow : A lemon maybe?
I might have gotten a lemon exceler 2500. I used it less than 10 times fishing for white bass. First it started to make scrapping noise when I retrieved the cast. Second the small handle plug came lose, which I used super glue to glue it back. Third the bail started to not snap back properly. It kind of got stuck halfway when I closed it with my hand. So disappointed! I am returning it and bought the 3000 model instead. Hopefully the 3000 model will be just fine.
DK : Great little reel
Exceler 2500. Excellent reel for light inshore fishing, esp at under $60. I've been using this for kayak striped bass fishing and its help up great so far... still very smooth. I prefer it over my heavier stradic fk 5000 or 4000 sized Penns. Felt drag washer is ok if you're not constantly fighting fish that will have your drag screaming (like false albacore or bonitas). I've got on 20 lb braid and also use it for freshwater fish like walleye and snakeheads. Its holding up very well. I'd choose this over a Shimano Nasci
Jess Baker : Try the diawa legalis lt!
I bought a legalis today and its basically the same reel around the same price but is not loud at all. Super smooth! For the guys having problems with this reel it's worth checking out. It comes in the lt as well.
mauro : Mulinello Daiwa
Buon mulinello abbinato alla pesca bolognese consigliato
Marcy Truax : Great quality, great price.
This was a gift for my husband, he loves it!
Particular : Great fresh water reel.
This reel may just be the nicest entry level freshwater reel out their.
